"Right outside the JR station, we saw staff holding signs, and even though the hotel is very close to the station, the pickup service was a nice bonus. The hotel environment is great, and the service is excellent. The hot spring water was incredibly smooth, making for a very comfortable soak. "This is by far the most traditional Japanese-style hotel I've ever stayed in, and it set a wonderful tone for our Nagoya trip. My parents absolutely loved it. **Service:** Standard Japanese service – very attentive. Although English communication was a bit challenging, they diligently used translation software. **Facilities:** Impeccable! I enjoyed my favorite onsen; the outdoor bath was truly exceptional, and the indoor one was also very spacious. The room decor was classic, just like something out of a Japanese drama, and someone even came to prepare our beds in the evening. At first, I worried it might be cold, but the electric blanket underneath was incredibly warm. So unique! For dinner, even though the variety was limited, the chicken wings were exceptionally delicious, and the fishball hotpot was also very good. My dad even complimented the rice! **Cleanliness:** Very good. Despite the older facilities, everything was spotless. **Environment:** The outdoor foot onsen looked so interesting, but I didn't get to try it this time. You could easily spend half a day just exploring the hotel itself. If you're not rushed, staying two days to fully soak it all in would be wonderful. The hotel is located at the highest point in Gero. Walking slowly downhill from there, time seemed to slow down, and everything felt peaceful and serene. I will always remember this place. ☺️"

"A very high-class Japanese-style hot spring experience, complete with a private bath. Breakfast and dinner service were excellent, and the food was satisfying and memorable. Located by the river, it offers views of the river day and night, and even the moon at night. The only complaint is that Trip makes its name complicated and difficult to remember; why not use its Chinese name "川上屋花水亭" instead of the confusing Japanese pronunciation?"

"Overall, I had a great time. I'm the type of person who chooses my own yukata, but when I checked in in the evening on the first day of the holidays, I was no longer able to choose the design or color. Breakfast and dinner were buffets, so I was able to eat as much as I wanted of what I liked, which was very satisfying. It's the season for stink bugs, and even though the windows aren't designed to open, they kept getting into my room, causing quite a commotion. Please be aware of this if you're going during the cooler months."

"+ : beautiful, traditional Japanese hotel with nice tatami rooms. The room was spacious and confortable with all necessary amenities. The outdoor onsen was great and almost empty when I went. The breakfast buffet is ok. - : a LOT of stairs in the building (very difficult for elderly and disabled people, but also people with big suitcases!). There is a car that theoretically can pick you up at the train station or drop you off but I couldn’t use it when I arrived because I received no information on it beforehand or when I left because it only starts at 10am. The onsen is not tattoo friendly and you have to pay for the tattoo cover. Staff was kind but most of the time unable to offer solutions Overall, a beautiful ryokan but for the price, you can find better."

I originally had to check in before 10 pm. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to stay, but I didn't expect that the boss waited for me and gave me a pot of hot water. Because I was late, I had a private hot spring bath for myself."

"There is no staff at the front desk, and there is no one to guide you to your room, so I thought they were efficiently staffing the minimum number of staff from the time you met to the time you returned (although this was not a particular problem). Dinner was very delicious. The appetizers are beautifully arranged with steamed abalone, chrysanthemum greens appetizer, salmon roe sushi and ginkgo nuts, simmered bowls made with white miso, sashimi, sweetfish grilled with yuzu miso, and roasted Hida beef, all of which have a good taste and are light in flavor. It was easy to eat, and I left out all of it. Both the rice and red soup were delicious. I also felt comfortable in the large public bath. It's not big, but it's not crowded, so you can reserve the open-air bath for yourself, and it's a good size considering the number of rooms. I still want to use it."

"The inn offers a great sense of privacy, with a small number of rooms and relaxed hospitality. The rooms are mostly elegant Japanese-style rooms, and choosing a course with an open-air bath in the room is also a good idea. As expected, the food was delicious, and I was impressed by the taste of the Hida beef. The hot spring water was smooth against the skin, and my body remained warm for a long time. We were able to enjoy a relaxing time together in a very quiet and calming room. A stroll around the well-maintained grounds was also worthwhile."
