Ravana Range Ella ★★★
"Excellent place! It's a 10-minute walk from the city center. The balcony offers a great view of the mountains! There's a small pool on the hotel grounds. Restaurant menu prices are above average."
Tunnel Top Inn Ella ★★★
"Although the location is a little inaccessible, that’s how the beautiful view of train coming out from tunnel can be seen. And the inaccessible location is overly compensated by the service, there is TukTuk to fetch you from Ella Town or Ella station when you arrive. During your stay, they fetched us back from Ella town after dinner around 9pm to the accommodation for the convenience. Also upon check out, they sent us back to Ella station. So, you can to enjoy the view in absolute nature without compromising the convenience. Absolutely love the place. Just walking distance to 9 Arch."
Senu Ceylon Ella ★★★
"Truly one of the best homestays we’ve been in. From start to finish we have received the best and kindest service from Krishantha who made us feel at home and was always checking in if we needed anything. The room itself is spacious and has everything you need and overlooks a gorgeous view of Ella. Couldn’t reccomend more!"
Bridge Front Inn Ella ★★★
"The location was absolutely stunning in the heart of the jungle but only a short walk to the nine arch bridge (you can even see the train passing through the trees during the day). The bird song and jungle noise was so peaceful, the rooms were clean, quality bedding and well thought out little touches in terms of toiletries (even some books on the shelf). The breakfast was delicious and so much food! But most importantly to note Yugesh was fantastic at attending to our needs whether that be to organise our laundry to be sent out and cleaned, making sure we had everything we needed for breakfast or coming with us on the walk to the bridge to get the best spots to film the train crossing, pictures etc. He was very kind, professional and thoughtful, he really made our trip. Another person to note was Nimal, the TukTuk driver who helped us easily get about. Free shuttle to Ella town from the hotel which is great! Anything else at an extra cost. Highly recommend this unique stay."
Hidden Pine Ella ★★★
"This was my first time in this city and my stay here was amazing. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet, offering a full immersion in nature that you can't find in big cities. The atmosphere and accommodation were very private. The owners provided excellent service, making me feel like family. The rooms were large and spacious, not at all intimidating. On my arrival, I requested to try on traditional Sri Lankan clothing, and the accommodation provided it for me. I was extremely impressed."
Ella Nature Nest ★★
"The number listed in the contacts is not valid, but they waited for us and checked us in. There is parking for one car, but then you have to go down the stairs on foot, about 50 steps! The water was hot, and there was a mosquito net too! There is breakfast, but if there are men in the company, it is better to stock up on something else for refreshment)"
Velora Hill Ella
"A warm welcome, a wonderful, filling breakfast, and especially delicious coffee. A modern, clean room with a mountain view. I highly recommend it!"
Poomaz Peace Palace - Ella ★★★
"Enjoy food, nice place"
Ella Nature Life Guest and Restaurant ★★★
"Located 10 minutes drive from town. Good if you like nature and tranquility. Possible to hike from here to Ella rock. Good and generous breakfast. With to book the room with balcony."

Hotel Onrock
"Definitely gotta be one of the best hotels in Ella, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, and the view is even better, I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Ella"
Moi Ella by DBI
"The hotel is situated at a distance of 14 Kms from the Elle Railway station. After eight hours in the train it looked quite a long journey to us. The hotel is in middle of a very very dense forest and there is hardly anything around it. The room was too basic for our comfort. The hotel reception manager Mr Sahiru is a very helpful person. We were told that since there are very few guests we have to choose from a set menu, one starter, one main meal and one dessert. It was getting late still I requested Mr Sahiru if they can make food of our choice without altering the quality. He called up chef and it was arrange. The food served was quite tasty and quantity was too plateful. The view of the forest from the top is just amazing but the top most platform to step up is quite risky. The steps are very high, it must be addressed. The mesmerising view is able to connect with the nature. However, we decided to cut short our visit by one day and head to Weligama by paying extra money to them. Since we were leaving early the next day our meal plan of breakfast and dinner was converted in Breakfast and lunch. Again the food was great and chef and staff were very very polite and helpful. Actually the manager felt bad that we are leaving early and offered us to change the room but we politely told them it is not about the room, it is about the isolated location and we can’t do anything in two days. They have a superb swimming pool which we saw the next day kids were enjoying a lot. If you are looking for an absolutely quiet place to spend your stay and you don’t care about staying with luxury you must stay at this place. In the end our gracious thanks to Eranda, Ishaan, Sahiru, and Manjula, at Moi Ella. You were all wonderful people but somehow we were looking for something else. Your Sri Lankan cuisine was out of the world and we loved it. A comment for visitors, all the websites will tell you to visit 9 Arches bridge in Elle but you must note that it is quite a steep and long walk from the road. You can take take a Tuktuk from the road but it will still leave you almost one and half kilometres of very steep downwards and upwards climb. My wife could not do it but went but it was quite a huffing and puffing while coming up. You might decide to go tere depending on how fit you are. As compared to many pictures there is no train ever passing through the nine arches track. Rather there are hundreds of youngsters sitting all over taking selfies."
O2 Villas Ella
"Excellent service and friendly staff. The dinner selection is limited. There are no shops nearby."
Misty Hills Ella Resort
"Amazing views from our room! The rooms were spacious with a table and chairs and couch (we had two deluxe rooms for our family). Good air conditioning and comfortable beds. The swimming pool was superb also with amazing views. The breakfast was good. It's about a 10 min walk up the hill to Ella or just catch a tuk tuk. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay here again."
Tea Ridge Ella by Sans
Tea Garden Holiday Inn
"I hate to say this, as I know how important the business is to these small run villas, but unless you're absolutely desperate, don't stay here. Yes it was very cheap and the views are very nice from certain vantages, but the place is dirty and falling apart. No hot water so didn't shower during my stay. Bathroom falling apart. Window screen broken so any creatures can come through at night. Beds and bedding dirty. Towels beyond usable. Mosquito nets beyond use. Safety also a concern. Bathroom window not secure and front door - single small latch. You're given a luggage padlock to secure you're room when you leave. As mentioned, views are nice and good location to the city centre, but I would not stay here if given the choice. Id rather pay more and they upgraded this inn."
Te Dalu Resort & Spa - A Luxury Sanctuary in Ella
"We truly regret that we stayed at TE DALU Resort & Spa Ella for only one night at the very end of our trip. Honestly, we wish we had spent much more time there because this hotel was absolutely wonderful. First of all, the hotel is very new, modern, and beautifully designed. The location is excellent, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and peaceful nature. The infinity pool overlooking the mountains was simply stunning. When we entered our room, we were speechless — the view literally took our breath away. The room was very spacious, bright, stylish, and thoughtfully designed with every comfort in mind. One of our favorite parts was the shower area with the window and an incredible mountain view. It created such a relaxing and unforgettable atmosphere. Another detail that impressed us a lot: this was the only hotel during our entire one-week Sri Lanka tour that served real loose-leaf tea instead of tea bags. As tea lovers, we appreciated this so much. The hotel truly lives up to its name “TE DALU,” which, as we understood, means “tea leaf” — and if we are correct, that makes it even more special. The staff welcomed us very warmly with traditional Sri Lankan hospitality. Mr. Shaluka at the reception was especially kind, professional, and helpful during our stay. We would also like to sincerely thank Mr. Ranga, who assisted us during the booking process before our trip. He was extremely helpful, polite, and arranged a fantastic room for us. Thank you very much, Mr. Ranga, for your excellent assistance and hospitality. There are only two small points we would like to mention honestly. One night after returning late from the city, we could not reach any staff members through the WA chat or by calling reception (0), even though we needed assistance with something for the room. Noone responded finally. We kindly suggest improving the night service availability, because guests may need help at any hour and hotel service should ideally be available 24/7. The second small detail is that cars cannot drive directly to the reception because the road becomes narrow near the hotel. However, this should absolutely not stop anyone from booking the hotel, because it is only around 30 meters away. The hotel’s tuk-tuk service conveniently transports guests and luggage from the parking point directly to the reception and back, which was actually a charming experience. Overall, this hotel gave us one of the best impressions during our Sri Lanka trip. It combines beautiful design, amazing views, comfort, excellent hospitality, and very reasonable prices. We highly recommend TE DALU Resort & Spa Ella to everyone visiting Ella. Thank you very much for such a memorable stay. We will definitely choose your hotel again next visit"
Uga Ghiri - Ella - All Inclusive
"We arrived to celebrate my Dad’s Birthday on 26/07/26. The Birthday welcome was excellent. Our two days at UGA GHIRI felt like gentle escape into a peaceful dream. It was a perfect staycation for a relaxed getaway. It’s a very well maintained cozy Hotel surrounded by the hills beauty and excellent breathing of Ella. Every moment was filled with a friendly smile, calm, warmth and joy. It wasn’t just a stay - it is a feeling we will carry in our hearts for a very long time. Leaving this place was truly the hardest part. We are especially grateful to the whole staff, their team effort, their wonderful care with the welcoming friendly smiles, delicious healthy meals made our stay even more special. We greatly appreciate and are thankful to the Joint Venture Management of Uga Ghiri for introducing this all inclusive experience to this eco friendly tourist area. All the very best to Uga Ghiri. May God Bless your Esteemed Establishment. Prashanth together with my parents, Shiranthie & Tilak Sylva (Captain, SriLankan Airlines)"
Viewfront Ella
"Stay away from this hotel! The hotel rooms isn’t what’s pictured on booking sites, the entrance is through a forest on a mountain and through other buildings. The walls is stained, door is leaking, and the room are nasty. The entrance pathway crumbled under me so a nail went through my foot and got several scratches. It is NOT a hotel, not even a bungalow. I would rather sleep with the homeless dogs than stay there one night. We checked out 30 minutes after we checked in. At least the manager was nice enough to give a full refund and drive us to another hotel."
Dowa Elegance Resort
"This enchanting retreat nestled in the hills offers spacious rooms with breathtaking balcony views. A quick 10-minute drive to Ella town, delectable food, and friendly staff make it a highly recommended destination for everyone."
Ella Dream Catcher Resort
"You can call it a homestay rather than a hotel stay. Located in secluted area with a very view"
Montes Ella
"This sweet little spot called SERENDIB ELLA BY TRAVEL CORNERS is a cool and relaxed guesthouse that's super close to all the good stuff like the Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Rock viewpoint, and Flying Ravana. You'll love that they hook you up with a free ride from Ella Railway Station to the guesthouse and back when you leave, and it's only a quick 1 kilometre from the centre of Ella. Plus, since the place is owned by Ella Spice Garden, you can score a 10% discount for the cooking class. We had an awesome time there and recommend it to others."
Mango Shadow Inn Ella
"It's true that this guesthouse is a bit out of town (a small road). But what peace and quiet, and what authenticity! I really appreciated the warm welcome from this dedicated gentleman. And what a pleasure it was to wake up and discover this place nestled in the heart of the forest. My best breakfast of my entire stay in Sri Lanka, with a view of the mountains and lush vegetation. The room, with its original decor ;-) is very clean and offers all the essential amenities (great Wi-Fi, hairdryer, blankets—essential in this cool mountain spot...). But above all, it's authentic, and the gentleman is lovely and incredibly attentive. He truly deserves to work more. I will definitely return. It's a welcome change from hotels!"
Heaven Breeze Hotel Ella
"As expected from a location at the highest point of Ella, the view is the best! .. However, due to the surrounding chaotic development, the roads are narrow and steep, so driving there is thrilling ㅜㅜ.. Since it is still under construction, only the first floor and some facilities are open, and ingredients are not yet fully prepared.. The staff try to be friendly, but charging that price in the current state is excessive."
Ella Walkers Nest
"It meets expectations. It's located a bit uphill, but at least it's not noisy from the main street (where almost every cafe is packed in the evenings). It's perfect for a quick break and a good night's sleep. The breakfast is excellent—scrambled eggs, toast, a pancake, and a mango smoothie. The staff is very friendly."
Ella Flower Garden Resort
"The breakfast buffet was quite luxurious. Walking to Little Adam's Peak and Nine Arches was wonderful. That said, having millipedes in the shower was not good."
