"We had a very pleasant stay here. The location is excellent—right behind the beach and directly opposite a convenience shop, which was so handy.
The room was clean and the pool area was lovely. However, two things really need to be improved. First, there should be a rule to ban smoking at the poolside, as the smell was unpleasant for non-smokers. Second, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the area; providing repellent or doing more frequent pest control would make a big difference.
A great spot that could be perfect with a few changes!

"Good value hotel, the rooms are small but were adequate for me especially for the price. The staff were very helpful and on-site laundry was good value and fast. Its right at the quieter end of Chaweng but only a few minutes walk from an entrance to the beach and a handful of nice cafes and restaurants. If you’re staying longer or want more action it would probably be more convenient to stay in the busier part but if you mainly want to chill for a few days it’s a nice location. The hotel is also on the main road so it’s easy to get cheap songthaew taxis to other areas."

"This will be part one of review (reason is we already extended stay for another 4 nights)
Hotel is wonderful, 2 great pools (one right in the garden with lots of lovely trees around amd right next to the room) balcony of room also has a great view of pool and the garden.
2nd pool larger and also surrounded by great salas and decking etc.
The beach which is maybe 100m walk from room is fantastic, lovely sandy beach with plenty of chairs and decking for comfort.
The staff from the reception to the maids to the serving staff all super nice and friendly.
I came with wife and daughter for 3 nights originally bit extended for another 4 nights as the hotel amd grounds and staff just all so nice.. everything you need is right here.
As the hotel is just off the chaweng main ***** thought maybe would be noisy but absolutely not.. it's far enough down towards the beach that the main ***** isn't an issue, (unless of course you want to see the main ***** and the many bars resteraunts s etc well no problem either as all of this is walking distance away so best of both worlds)
Breakfast buffet has plenty of options also.
So after another 4 days we may extend a bit more as I day it has everything you need for a great beach tropical holiday.
Food amd drinks all reasonably priced (food is excellent with a wide selection)"

"I had a lovely stay at Samui First Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed warmly and even offered a refreshing welcome drink, which was a nice touch. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free.
The hotel offers plenty of amenities, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious—definitely a great way to start the day. The pool area is clean and well-maintained, perfect for a quick dip or relaxing by the water.
Although there's no elevator, it wasn’t a big issue for me. The hotel is a bit far from Central Samui and the beach, so renting a bike is a good idea if you want to explore the island. Chaweng Beach is the closest, and it's a beautiful spot. I also recommend checking out Ark Bar—it’s a great place to chill, especially in the late afternoon or evening.
Overall, a pleasant experience and a great place to stay on Samui Island.🤗❤️"

"The hotel is good for young families. I went with my elderly parents, so it was difficult for them to move around, due to there being many steps everywhere.
The service staff is generally very good, and the food is good too.
Now for the areas of improvement:
1) On our first day at the beach, there was some miscommunication with a server. We asked for a drinks menu and it took him 20 mins to get it to us, so in the meantime, we decided what we want to get. When he finally came to us and we have him the order, he got upset that we didn't even look at the menu. After that, he got the order wrong. This wasn't entirely his fault, there was a genuine miscommunication, but again, he was very rude to my father about it. Then he started rolling his eyes and shaking his head at my dad. Who is 81 by the way. Luckily, the other days, we had different staff helping us and they were wonderful.
2) Housekeeping: Not the best. The room was quite dusty. Floor was quite sandy too.
Tip: Ask for sea facing rooms. The other rooms are a little darker and the ground floor rooms can occasionally have a drainage smell, as the drain system is right outside the room."

"The villa room type was excellent overall and offered great value for money. The room was quite spacious (much larger than the photos suggested). It actually featured two beds – one large and one small – which was ideal for families. Its location was also superb: right on Chaweng Beach and just off Koh Samui's busiest main street, making it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Despite the central location, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful at night."

"This hotel is fine if you just need something basic. When I first got there I found that the AC was infested with mold. They did clean it when I mentioned it, but having it there in general isn't a good sign of cleanliness. The bathroom is very small and a bit awkward with no shower curtain, so prepare to soak the bathroom and then some when you shower. The liquid soap is actually quite bad to, buy your own.
If you stay here then do it for it's proximity to the beach. It's a 2 mins early to chaewang beach, 2 mins from the muy Thai stadium and 5 mins from the girly bars. The hotel is just ok, but There are also a few other hotels nearby that may give you more bang for your buck."

"In 2020 this would have been a 4 star hotel, today it's tired and over priced. We changed our first room as the mold spores in the air had been masked by perfume. The second room much better as it had a sunnier location. It has everything you expect , however if freshly decorated and updated would merit it's status. The breakfast was poor quality and the bar and food prices too high."

Staff: One of the standout features of the resort is its staff. They are not only efficient, ensuring everything runs smoothly, but also genuinely friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a smile. This level of service greatly enhances the overall stay.
Room Views: Opting for a room on the third floor is highly recommended as it offers scenic views. While the first and second floors might lack these views, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms remain commendable. Bed and pillows were awesome!!

From the moment we arrived at Marasca, we knew we were in for something special. The resort is very well-secured at the entrance, giving us peace of mind right away. The front office team was simply superb—friendly, efficient, and attentive in just the right way.
Our porter was quick to assist with our luggage, no fuss, no wait—just seamless service. Although early check-in wasn’t available when we arrived, the hotel’s app made all the difference. Through the app, we could explore the resort, make requests, and track our room status. Eventually, we received a notification that our room was ready—such a convenient system!
The room itself? Immaculate! Spotless and thoughtfully designed with a massive bed, a sparkling clean shower area, a cozy separate seating space, and an automated toilet that lifts the cover for you. No-touch toilet seat? That’s a huge bonus!
We were also greeted with a delightful welcome basket in the room, packed with special drinks, snacks, and even a handwritten postcard by the General Manager. It was such a warm and personal touch—it’s hard not to fall in love with the place instantly.
We did try the spa, and while it’s on the pricier side, the service and facilities were absolutely worth every penny—top-notch from start to finish.
Cabanas, the beach club at Marasca, is another highlight. Ultra-chilled vibes, beautifully designed with lush greenery, comfy furniture, and a view that opens right up to Chaweng Beach. It was the perfect place to unwind.
Breakfast? Impressive. A great mix of Western and Asian dishes, plus a healthy spread of salads, pastries, yogurt, juices, and smoothies. The little touches like free healthy shots in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon truly made our stay even more enjoyable!
Marasca also offers daily activities for guests, so you’ll never run out of things to do.
To sum it all up: this is, hands down, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Huge shoutout to the amazing team—Mo, Tony, Ja, Chet, Jenny, Puppup, Andy, Pui, Golf, and the rest whose names I can’t recall. Your teamwork and hospitality were unforgettable.

VViktorLocation: you need to immediately understand that you will need transport. There are a couple of cafes within walking distance, but we didn’t go to them, there weren’t many people there either, except that a couple of times we saw a few farangs having breakfast. Report offers delivery to and from the beach during certain hours. I don’t remember the price: either free, or for a symbolic fee, very low. They also offered to order breakfast and have it delivered to your villa: it’s certainly more expensive than in a regular cafe, but still affordable. We did not use this service, since we would have to plan breakfast time in advance (why?). The beach... we stayed during the daytime low tides, so I can’t say anything good about the sea, but the beach itself is clean and almost deserted.
Surprises: we booked a villa with three bedrooms and a living room + a swimming pool. When looking at the photos of the rooms (at the time of booking), I could not understand the location of the room and also could not understand the privacy of the pool. Will the pool be ours alone or will it have to be shared with guests from some other villa. I even looked around on Google Maps, but still didn’t fully understand it. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised that this very villa consists of two separate houses between which there is a swimming pool (not small, but medium in size). One house consists of two bedrooms with separate entrances and separate bathrooms, and the other house consists of a huge living room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom + 2 bathrooms. Grandiose! Another patio.
Of the minuses: not very stable wi-fi, TV is brooding. That's all. Air conditioners also do not cool as quickly as we would like, but this is the fault of the building design. A huge area of glazing which is made of single wood. If in the future we install normal aluminum structures with double-glazed windows, it will be possible to achieve a better effect from air conditioners + save on electricity and improve sound insulation. However, air conditioners do their job quite well. It was almost always quiet.
Overall everything is ok. This place is worth the money. The owner, Lana, is very friendly and speaks perfect Russian.

The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, and the property itself was stunning, with beautiful landscaping and plenty of areas to relax. However, there are a couple of downsides. The beach line is quite narrow, and the sand is relatively coarse, though this seems to be a characteristic of the entire North Coast. Additionally, the rooms are designed in a way that you can hear your neighbors, as they are separated by connecting doors. This can occasionally affect privacy and quietness.
Overall, despite these minor issues, everything else was perfect, and I would still highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay!
