Chia Laguna - Hotel Village

Chia Laguna - Hotel Village

📍 Viale Belvedere, Chia
★★★★ 8.1 (70 reviews)

"It is located in the Chia Laguna, one of the clusters of 4 and 5 stars of hotels. Beautifully managed landscapes and access to private beaches make this resort very attractive. However, it is for those who don't care about the quality of the hotel and for those who want to just sleep at night and take the most of the activities outside of the room. In terms of quality of the room, it requires lots of attention. You are most likely to enter your room through the sliding door, and then there is your bed, and there is a bathroom with a shower and toilet, bidet, and the sink. The bed is not comfortable, and there is a weird sewage smell coming from the bathroom, we had to spray our perfume and close the bathroom door, and leave the bathroom windows open. Typically, the hotel bathroom is a joy to enter, but this bathroom was one of those bathrooms that wanted to get out as fast as possible, especially with sewage smell. I had to dry my hair outside of bathroom so the sewage smell doesn't get to my hair. (Enough said) On top of our not-so-impressed experience, our neighbor left the TV on loud and party in their room until 3am, we couldn't sleep at all. Contacted the front desk at 1am, but loud noise still continued. Thank God, we only had to stay 1 night. I would have looked for another hotel if we had to stay one more night. Hotel reservations came with 2 meals, breakfast, and a dinner buffet. It was one of the worst food experiences not only in Italy but also in all the places we have ever been. At a glance, the buffet seemed fine and attractive, but as soon as we started tasting the food, we felt right away, we cannot expect much. Most of the dishes were extremely salty, lacked flavors, and the quality of each ingredient was bad compared to the dishes that we experienced in Cagliari. If you only care about the location and the beautiful beach access, this is the place for you, but if you care about all the aspects of what the resort hotel supposed to offer, it might be wise to either spend a bit more money and stay at either Curio or Conrad properties or consider different location or hotels. Hope this review helps you to decide where to stay in Chia Laguna."

"Stayed at the hotel between 13th Oct to 16th Oct. Luckly the weather was still nice and warm and benefiting quiet at the hotel as it's a low season for Sardinia. The hotel is at the Chia at the south of Sardinia where it is still not highly developed yet, the local area still remain clean and clam, the beach is very beautiful with sandy beach with crystal clean water. The hotel is well maintained and all the rooms spread around the hill, we were fortunate to be upgraded to one of the best room overlooking the sea, highly recommend the sea view room and it worth the extra. I would like to thank to all the staff as they worked very hard to ensure everyone is having a best time at the resort. We really enjoyed the time at the Curio and we definitely will be retuning to the hotel in the near future. Thank you Curio team, you guys deserved a massive credit for your dedicated work. "

"The hotel was gorgeous, but we stayed right at the beginning of the season and more than 50% of it wasn’t open yet. There was only one restaurant open besides the pool bar, and the food wasn’t that great. The rooms were lovely and the kids club was great, but I wish we had known that so much of it wouldn’t be open yet."

"The hotel is amazing, the room was wonderful with a stunning view over the beautiful sea. We felt welcomed since the first day thanks to the super nice team at the front desk (Valeria and Margarita). A lot of options for dining at the Genepro Restaurant, fragrant bread made every day, and delicious pizza! Every day we find a peaceful atmosphere and high-quality food, we will never forget our breakfast there, and the entire smiling and careful team will forever stay in our hearts: Marco and the other lady with brown hair, a nice and shy young girl with long hair which was so sweet! also the bartender at the cannetto bar. Thanks also to the beach staff, always helpful and caring. We will surely come back to this real paradise, can't wait to see the wonderful team again. YOU make the hotel special! "

Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia ★★★★★
"On first glance it seems like a lovely resort in a beautiful part of Sardinia. We arrived and were ‘upgraded’ to what seemed like a neglected part of the resort - the Oasi building- 8 min walk to reception. The rooms are substandard for a 5 star hotel. The room looked nicely appointed on arrival, but we slowly learned that the so called renovation done in 2019 was a shoddy aesthetic job. Our kid’s room closet door handle hung off of the screws and their sink never drained properly. In our room, we noticed immediately that main closet sliding doors were broken when we tried to open them and hang clothes. On day two a maintenance person was sent to ‘fix’ this but the doors still seemed hard to slide and were off the gliding track. The third day, when we tried to open the closet, the entire door with mirror fell off of the hinge. When we called and asked to have the door reattached, the front desk asked us to wait until the next day ‘domani’. This seemed unacceptable especially at £1k a night for our room. After much back and forth, a manager sent another maintenance person to come speak with my husband. He couldn’t seem to solve the issue. In the end we asked to have the entire door removed entirety so that we could access the closet. The lifeguard at the kids pool seemed overly intimidating and bordered on rude. He asked our kids, ages 11-3, not to jump (fair if that is the rule). When our 3 yr old jumped after he previously admonished us, he marched over and told us he was calling security. A security guard arrived, though he never said a word to us, and seemed to shrug his shoulders at the lifeguard. We understand that basic safety measures should be taken, but calling security on hotel guests because their 3 year old jumped into the pool seemed dramatic. The good: Housekeeping was excellent and hard working - special thanks to Anthony who looked after our room. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. Food at restaurants was fine if repetitive, certainly the food is better at local Italian restaurants but we had low expectations going in. The staff tried their best but you got the sense that they were overwhelmed and often disagreed with odd management decisions (ie no music allowed during aqua aerobics even at the chaotic kids pool). The resort grew on us and by day 3 we felt it was better than when we arrived. That said, I’m not sure we would return. There are better 5 and 4 star resorts in Europe."
