Cheap Hotels in Marseille

"Arriving from the Marseille bus station, we were not sure how to get to the hotel without climbing the steps. See photo. Later on, when I asked reception staff, he says we could go the opposite direction to the train station without using the steps. We used the gate shown jn the photo to get to the tram in the city centre. My room has a view of ”the church on a hill” in the distance. See photo."

"First, the positives: The breakfast was fantastic, and the coffee was great, which is a rare find at this price point. The room had a kettle, and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! The hotel is a convenient 10-minute walk to the Old Port. The lobby offered free coffee and croissants. I was really worried about service staff in France only speaking French, but everyone at this hotel spoke excellent English. Now for the issues I encountered: Initially, I was given a room on the fourth floor. When I pulled back the covers, I found a significant amount of hair on the pillows, which seemed to be a mix of human and animal hair (this hotel is pet-friendly). Lifting the duvet revealed even more hair, making it seem like the cleaning staff hadn't changed the bedding at all. The front desk immediately offered me another room on the same floor. After moving my luggage, I still found a small amount of hair when I pulled back the covers in the new room. I then asked the front desk for a fresh set of sheets and duvet covers. They offered to move me again, this time to a room on the 6th floor. This room was much better, but the pillowcases had yellow stains on all four corners. I requested new pillowcases from the front desk and changed them myself. One minor concern: The hotel isn't on the main street and is a bit close to the train station, which made me slightly uneasy walking around at night."

"Lovely modern aparthotel Very clean and modern style rooms with large walk in shower, memory foam bed made for comfortable sleeping and the bed being a full side instead of two singles pushed together was a bonus compared to other hotels we have stayed in. The tv had option to connect Netflix which we found to fit the style of the room. The reception team were friendly and very helpful. The lobby was unique and different, plenty space to lounge with an array of different chairs/ couches to enjoy while you wait with lots of available charging ports nearby too. There was a pool area with a sauna and hammam, this was an additional €10pp to use for an hour but very nice facilities to use. We stayed in the panoramic sea view room and it was worth the view however there was construction so we couldn’t open the window or have the curtains back to enjoy the view properly. However if we return we would book again and would recommend to stay here 😊"

"The hotel is very basic, nothing special. Cleaning is good. Pros: The staff is very friendly, and compared to other hotels in France, we left the best impression possible. Cons: 1. The pillows are uncomfortable and high, making my neck hurt. 2. The shower leaks a little, with cracks in the walls and ceiling in places. The windows could do with a good cleaning. 3. The hotel is no-smoking, but unfortunately, some guests smoke, and the ventilation system lets a terrible smell into the bathroom. The breakfast is very basic. It would be better to have just boiled eggs, not this omelet-like mess."

"You can walk to the seaside. It's conveniently located near the station. At night, you can hear people talking from the road in front of the hotel."

"The location of the hotel is excellent, it is in the Bourse building of the Old Port area and within walking distance to the port area and museums. Service is good, and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful."

"Very good hotel (appartcity), the rooms are quite clean, with all the facilities of an apartment, small kitchenette in the room, you can go shopping and prepare your meals by yourself (fridge, microwave, electric stove, dishwasher, kettle, even the dishes, cutlery, pots, kitchen sink, etc.)! Private and protected parking at an additional cost (16 euros per day), but at least you're safe, because in the area the car could be damaged, and there aren't many places to park outside. The pleasant staff, especially a big thank you to Anthony, for his professional welcome and to the two young girls who work at the reception. The breakfast is plentiful, not too much choice, but very appetizing, tasty and fresh... what more could you want! I will come back with great pleasure and I highly recommend it!"

"This place is nice for a night. Not really near anything of importance, but if needing a place to stay before heading to the airport it's ideal. Near some restaurants in a seemingly dodgy part of town. The parking is a bit odd. I got stuck in the private parking for the apartment complex next door. When going into the parking stay to the left side. There's a nice pool and dining area to relax. Rooms are of great size and comfort. Very affordable in terms of a Crowne Plaza. Very good staff, was given a free upgrade. I highly recommend."

"The hotel's location is amazing, right in the Old Port, with the balcony facing a row of yachts! They gave me a free upgrade to a two-story suite with a skylight – the vibe was incredible! It's a shame I only stayed one night; I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Marseille."
