Cheap Hotels in Munich

"-Great location (very close to Ostbahnhof), easily accessible by public transport. 😊👍🏼 -Unfortunately, the double rooms have a separate shower with a glass door, so if you're not alone in the room, you can be observed while showering. 😔 -The hotel doesn't offer its own breakfast. However, you can book the breakfast buffet at the neighboring restaurant ”Marris” for 14.90 EUR (Note: unfortunately closed on Sundays) or for 8.50 EUR at the nearby ”Wombat's” hotel (Note: very basic breakfast). 😔👎🏻"

"Nice decoration. Room is relatively small but fancy. We waited for the check-in as we arrived before check-in time. Some people arrived after us, but could check in immediately which gave us a bit bad impression of the service but they handled it quite well and we could also check in earlier."

"We arrived very late past midnight and were warmly greeted by a friendly staff member, which was a great start. However, throughout the rest of our stay, we felt the overall welcome could have been warmer, especially when passing the front desk each day. A lovely surprise was the birthday card and small gift the hotel prepared for my daughter — such a thoughtful touch and truly appreciated. The room was spotless and cosy, with extremely comfortable beds. We also appreciated the more compact towels, which fit well with the hotel’s sustainability approach and were still perfectly comfortable for daily use. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Scandic München Macherei and would definitely consider returning."

"The location was one of its biggest strengths for us. The hotel is only one bus stop away from Munich Messe, or about a five-minute drive if you're coming by car. For anyone attending an exhibition or event there, it makes the early mornings and long days feel much more manageable. Another thing that stood out was just how clean and well maintained the hotel felt. You could tell that some parts of the property, such as the carpets, had been there for quite a few years, but they were looked after remarkably well. Rather than feeling worn, the hotel gave the impression of being carefully maintained and respected by the people running it. I also appreciated the little touches in the lobby. There were refreshments available for both adults and children—ice cream, cookies, and drinks—which added a welcoming atmosphere to the space. It was one of those simple gestures that makes a hotel feel more hospitable and less transactional. The gym being open 24 hours a day was another unexpected bonus. Whether arriving late after a long day or wanting an early workout before heading out, having that flexibility was genuinely useful. For those arriving by car, the free parking directly in front of the hotel was another convenience that shouldn't be underestimated, especially around Munich where parking can quickly become expensive or complicated. The only less positive part of our stay was an interaction at the front desk. One of the gentlemen working there came across as somewhat impatient and a little abrupt. To be fair, the hotel was fully booked during our visit, and it was easy to imagine that the workload and constant stream of guests might have been contributing factors. Still, it stood out slightly against what was otherwise a very positive experience."

"This is the 2nd time I stay in this hotel during business trip. The first time I believe I got a slightly bigger room than I got this time. Nevertheless, space is not an issue. The bathroom had days with really bad smell coming from the pipes. The breakfast is very basic but good. Nearby the hotel there are not so many restaurants but there is grocery stores and shops to buy in."

"The hotel is situated in a quiet and peaceful residential area with just a 10 min walk to Nordfriedhof station and also nearby tram station. The breakfast buffer spread is great, my favorites are salmon + horseradish and croissant. Extensive selection of beverages from juices, coffee, tea and milk. The room provides nice bedding with comfortable pillows and the toilet is spacious."

"Great location, with a metro station within 500 meters that offers direct access to Munich Central Station. The room was clean and had air conditioning. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels in the area, and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet. Definitely recommend."

"• Location and Transportation 26: The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, making it ideal for travelers needing an overnight stay before or after a flight. A shuttle bus service is available for easy transfers to and from the airport, taking approximately 10-15 minutes at a reasonable fare. Some guests also noted a bus stop just 50 meters from the hotel, offering convenient public transport options. • Cleanliness and Facilities 27: The hotel maintains good overall hygiene, with clean and tidy rooms meeting many guests' expectations. Although the rooms are small, they are well-equipped and generally sufficient for guests' needs. The lobby offers game facilities for entertainment, and complimentary coffee and other services enhance the user experience. • Service Quality 29: The staff are friendly and helpful, with their service attitude receiving positive reviews from most guests. The check-in process is simple and quick, improving the guest experience. The hotel's complimentary shuttle bus service is a great convenience, with the airport shuttle service being particularly praised."

"The hotel is nice, clean, well-furnished, and has spacious rooms. The staff are friendly. The location in the lively Werksviertel and near Ostbahnhof has its charm – especially if you don't mind noisy nights. Even on the 20th floor, you can hear the bass from the clubs and rooftop terraces. Perhaps it's better in the rooms facing away from the scene (which should be the odd-numbered rooms). At 32 Euros, breakfast is definitely not underpriced. I would not book again."

"My stay at the HYPERION Hotel München was truly excellent. While not in the bustling city center, its public transport links are incredibly convenient. Just a short walk brings you to S-Bahn, U-Bahn, or tram stops, making travel to the Old Town, Marienplatz, and the Central Station smooth and fast. Being a bit removed from the city's hustle and bustle actually provided a quiet, open environment and fantastic sleep quality – a real oasis of calm. The breakfast was a particular highlight and truly impressive, both in variety and quality. From freshly baked pastries and high-quality cold cuts and cheeses to made-to-order hot dishes and fresh fruit juices, the selection was vast, and the flavors and freshness of ingredients were impeccable. Each morning started perfectly with a delicious and substantial meal. Even more commendable was the hotel's attentive and thoughtful service. From the professional and warm welcome at the front desk, with patient assistance for travel directions, to the meticulous cleaning by housekeeping and luggage assistance, the entire team consistently demonstrated efficient and warm German hospitality. With its convenient transport, outstanding dining, and comforting service, this hotel is an excellent choice for visiting Munich, offering both great value for money and superb comfort."
