"I originally booked a hotel at random, but unexpectedly, it was surprisingly good! I wanted to book a hotel in Wanaka, but they were all fully booked, so I settled on the Cardrona Hotel between Wanaka and Queenstown! After arriving, I found it on the side of the highway, which was quite disappointing, but! I was shocked when I entered the hotel! There are restaurants and bars in the hotel, all with very retro decoration. Later I learned that the hotel has a history of more than 150 years! The garden behind the hotel is particularly beautiful! Recommended!"

"A large motel, the hotel grounds are a large park. There is a large lawn and a rugby field. very quiet. We live in a separate area. The room is not big and can accommodate 2-3 people. There is a public kitchen, which is large and cooking is no problem. There are dedicated public toilets and bathrooms, only hotel guests have keys, one minute's walk from the room. There is a medium-sized supermarket 5 minutes' walk away. It is a 10-minute walk from the town center, less than 20 kilometers from Queenstown, and a 20-minute drive. Compared with the same housing price in Queenstown, it is half cheaper."

"The environment is good, the room is very clean and hygienic, with an open kitchen! Very close to the supermarket, about 1 km to the town center, walk to the town center, pass the beautiful RV campsite, and a few hundred meters past the Arrow River. It is a very good typical New Zealand South Island motel! We came specifically to see the Golden Autumn Festival from April 25 to 28, especially the Carnival Parade on April 27, leaving a good memory! It is hard to find a room during the Golden Autumn Festival!"

"Really lovely homestay boutique hotel. Room was lovely and spacious with great attention to detail. Bathroom and amenities are great. Breakfast and staff are lovely and although more expensive than some hotels it is easy to see why. Would love to stay again."

"The hotel charged service fees and forcibly deducted money from the credit card. Our family had dinner at the hotel. The hotel waiter thought we were foreigners and didn’t speak good English, so the bill was wrong. After we checked the prices one by one, they changed it."

"Facilities: The resort has complete facilities, a good environment, and a large golf course. The hotel rooms are average, American style. Hygiene: The hygiene of New Zealand hotels is good. "We chose this hotel because we expected to enjoy its winery/food. Otherwise, we should have stayed in Queenstown with a lot of restaurants and pubs. As we would arrive in the early evening, we put a note for our hope for experiencing their winery and food (or at least finger foods) when we booked the hotel, and received email that they cannot guarantee but will do their best to serve our need. Since then, no email was sent to us. When we arrived at the hotel around 6 pm, no one was in the information desk, so we had to go to the bistro to find out that they left the key in a safe box without any notice or sending us any email with its password. We had to wait a while for the bistro lady to make a phone call to whom it concerns, which was okay. Worse, we heard that their bistro was reserved for a group event so we could not use the facility at all. We had to drive 15 minutes to a nearby town and bought foods from a supermarket. I think the hotel should have notified us of impossibility of using their bistro/food service due to the group event and we have to prepare for our food. As I checked out, I left a note about the issues, and expected they would send me an email to express their sincere apology. Unfortunately nothing happened so far. Although I liked the room as well as the whole place very much, I think Kinross cottage needs professionalism to run their stay program. It could have been much nicer, memorable stay experience."
