Great
They say nothing is perfect, but this hotel came close! We received a friendly greeting upon entering the lobby, the check-in process was effortless, and although they didn’t have adjoining rooms they ensured that the second room was mere feet away. They allowed us to check-in a bit early into one room and called within 30 mins to inform us that the second room was ready. They also provided the cooktops so that we could make hot meals for our families. Everyone we encountered was very accommodating from the breakfast staff to housekeeping. Hot breakfast was a plus. The only drawback was that the ice machine was inoperable on our floor so we had to venture down to the first floor to retrieve ice. The rooms were clean, modern, large and definitely accommodated a family of 5 (2 rooms for total of 10 guests). Many restaurants and plenty of shopping is minutes away, but nothing that shares the same street as the hotel although there is a McDonald’s across the highway inside a gas station. I think not being surrounded by eateries helped navigate entering and exiting the parking lot. Total consensus is we will return soon!

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Houston Downtown and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located near downtown attractions, restaurants, and highways, making it easy to get around the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed — a good bed, plenty of outlets, and a strong Wi-Fi connection. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which is essential in Houston’s weather. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help with directions or local recommendations. The front desk check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Breakfast was a nice surprise — a good selection of both hot and cold items, including eggs, sausage, pancakes, and fresh fruit. The breakfast area was clean and well-stocked throughout the morning. Parking was easy and felt secure, and the property overall was quiet and safe, ideal for both business and leisure travelers. Overall, I would definitely recommend Holiday Inn Express Houston Downtown for anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and well-located place to stay in Houston.

Less than 5 minutes ride from the airport, the hotel is an ideal place for an overnight stay while waiting for your connecting flight if you arrive late and your next flight won't be until the next morning. All the amenities you want are there, plus wake up call and free shuttle bus to the airport. Highly recommended.

I checked in very late - around 8-9pm - and the woman at the counter was extremely friendly and nice. She made conversation with us about our trip and our jobs and told us all the available amenities. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was your average hotel breakfast, but had more options than I usually see so close to the end of breakfast time. They did not begin cleaning up breakfast right at the end time, which was nice because they let us keep grazing on what was left before finally taking it away about 20 minutes after breakfast had ended. The vending machines were really cool. There were cheap toiletries in the vending machine that you could buy in case you forgot something at home, and the cola vending machine had ice cold drinks for pretty cheap. I had a great time staying at this hotel and would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. I've stayed at this brand of hotel (Choice Hotels) before and I've always had a great experience.
