I chose this hotel because of the free airport pickup and drop-off service, which was a decisive factor for me. The butler contacted us in advance and arranged the pickup, even sending us a small guide and restaurant recommendations, which were all very clear. The hotel environment is also excellent, the driver was very friendly, and the room was super comfortable. I do have a small suggestion though: there seemed to be too few trash cans. It would be much more convenient if the small tabletop bins were replaced with larger ones. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and there was also complimentary late-night congee available, so if you don't feel like going out in the evening, you can easily have a satisfying meal here. The surroundings of the hotel are also lovely; on a clear night, you can even enjoy moon gazing. Overall, I give my stay a full 5 stars.

This hotel is located inside the Shapotou Scenic Area, right in the desert, offering a truly unique experience. The rooms are well-equipped and convenient, complete with a full range of desert sun and sand protection essentials, as well as a variety of snacks and drinks. The room rate includes breakfast and dinner, some tour activities, and car service. The food is excellent, delicious, and they even offer late-night snacks. The included activities are substantial and well worth experiencing. The butler team is very responsive, and vehicle arrangements and room service are always prompt. 👍 Small suggestions: For a hotel of this caliber, the in-room beverage selection could be refined a bit; adding some alcohol, even just beer, would be a nice touch. Also, mouthwash could be included in the toiletries.

This is the best desert guesthouse I've ever stayed at! The owner is a local, and someone came to pick us up as soon as we arrived at the parking spot, always on call. The bonfire party at night was lively, and the fireworks were beautiful. We stayed in a cabin, which was clean and had air conditioning, so it wasn't cold at night. The standard room had two large beds, more than enough for four people! My friends had a blast. With the high temperatures in Suzhou and Hangzhou, this is a great escape to the heat in the northwest, featuring a lovely guesthouse village. Nan'an is the largest guesthouse complex in the area, with 40 rooms out of a total of 100. This time, we stayed at Taojiaying West House, with a swimming pool in front and a farm/ranch/ranch in the back – very pleasant. The room details were also very well done, suitable for large families or groups of friends. Both restaurants in the village are good for breakfast: 🌻Xiangke (more variety), 🍜Lao Wang Ji Breakfast & Midnight Canteen. Special praise to Nan'an's management team, including Da Yuan and her group; they communicated with us before our arrival and were very attentive. During our stay, our drone got stuck in a tree in the yard, and the management team helped us find a solution from evening until morning, finally fixing it with a tree trunk over ten meters long. - Climb the Great Wall (five-minute climb to the top) for panoramic views of the Yellow River and the village. - Feeding lambs, riding camels, milking goats. I call it the Yellow River version of ”Wuzhen Village”; the entire village has an integrated design with a Mediterranean feel, perfect for photos.

This hotel is excellent in every aspect! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the facilities are new, and all amenities are well-stocked. The service is great, very responsive, and particularly attentive. They offer free parking, which is fantastic for those traveling by car. Overall, the experience was superb and well worth a positive review!!

First, the positives: it’s incredibly photogenic and has a very exotic vibe, which alone is a huge plus. However, it was raining when I visited, so many activities were canceled. I had planned to stargaze in the desert, but couldn't, and also missed out on sandboarding. If it had been sunny, I think it would have overshadowed all my dissatisfactions. I imagine it would be a truly wonderful experience on a clear day. Now for the negatives: the service attitude was quite perplexing. Sometimes it seemed pretty good, but at other times it felt very cold. Because of the rain, we opted for horseback riding, and I found the instructor's attitude very perfunctory. Also, the hairdryer provided by the hotel felt completely mismatched with the overall price point; other hotels in the 1000-ish range often have Dyson hair dryers. The shower head was clogged and spraying water everywhere, so I had no choice but to use the handheld shower. When we arrived, the temperature suddenly dropped to 14 degrees Celsius, and even with the heating on full blast, it was still freezing cold in the morning.

The campsite environment was much better than I expected—quiet and stylish! During the day, I could see the desert sands, and at night, the starry sky; I felt completely relaxed and free. The tents were clean, tidy, well-designed, draft-proof, warm, and fully equipped.

The room environment feels comfortable, the hotel is in a good location, and the transportation is generally convenient. Duoduo at the front desk said that there is Hengdian Cinema nearby. We went to the snack street in the evening, which is not far from the hotel and can be reached in a few minutes on foot. The room is comfortable and sanitary, the front desk and room attendants are happy to provide all kinds of help, the facilities are very smart, and the price-performance ratio is good. It is the first choice for next stay.

I absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.
