Although our Singapore trip during the May Day holiday was decided just a week in advance, we only booked a hotel after landing because we'd seen so many negative reviews that we hesitated to commit. However, after checking in, I realized my worries were unfounded. The Carlton is a well-established, high-end hotel with excellent management and operations, and its location is superb. My room preferences, noted during booking, were met. From the staff's service to the facilities, everything operated smoothly and efficiently. We stayed for three nights, and while the room wasn't completely soundproof, it was quiet enough for us to sleep peacefully every night. On check-out day, we even ran into an Emirates airline crew! Singapore is an incredibly inclusive country; you can always speak Chinese to locals without any prejudice. My child and I were both very satisfied with this trip!

Carlton City Hotel Singapore boasts an excellent location. It's directly accessible from Changi Airport via the MRT, and the hotel is just about a 3-minute walk from the station exit, which is incredibly convenient. As soon as we arrived at the hotel entrance, staff immediately took our luggage, and the check-in process was very swift. Our bags were delivered to the room within moments of us getting there – excellent service! The hotel does require a S$100 deposit, which is refunded upon check-out. 

The hotel is situated in the city center. We could easily walk to Chinatown, and Maxwell Food Centre, home to the famous Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, is right across from Chinatown. Thanks to the hotel's prime location, we walked to most attractions, as they weren't too far, only using public transport (bus/MRT) for trips further afield. The room itself was quite spacious, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The hotel breakfast was also very good.

Traveling as a family of three, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room came with a double bed and an additional rollaway bed. This was incredibly thoughtful for a family with an older child, and made our stay very comfortable. The room was also spacious enough and had a balcony. Being on the first floor was super convenient. They replenished our bottled water daily, which was a nice touch. We were so lucky to have clear skies every day of our trip in Singapore and even luckier to have booked this hotel. We didn't need to communicate much; overall, we were extremely satisfied. I had some reservations before my trip after seeing some negative reviews online, so I'd like to clear things up. The shower had excellent water pressure, which was amazing – I could wash my hair in no time! And contrary to some reviews, it wasn't noisy at all; our stay was very peaceful.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The location is fantastic, perfect for city walking and exploring all the popular attractions in Ho Chi Minh City without needing a car. The hotel has a pool, and the rooms are really comfortable. We stayed over Christmas, and there was a choir singing in the lobby in the evening, which really added to the festive atmosphere. If I ever go back to Ho Chi Minh City, this will definitely be my top choice!

Excellent stay. Reception at check in was great, bed was super comfortable, room clean, decent bar and pool, and it’s well located. Would definitely stay here again.
