Ella at the front desk was incredibly warm and attentive. She knew my child wanted to see the Oriental Pearl Tower night view after coming back from Disneyland in the evening, so she upgraded our room to an executive suite! We had views of both the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Huangpu River night view from the windows of both rooms!! This long-standing five-star hotel is simply impeccable!!! 👍👍

I stayed at the Jing An Shangri-La with my child this time, and the location is definitely its biggest advantage – the mall is right downstairs. Our room faced the 'Bund Three-Piece Suit' (the three iconic skyscrapers), offering excellent views. I especially want to commend Apple from concierge; communication with her was pleasant, and she was very attentive in helping with our travel arrangements. The room's amenities were good, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was also great, and the ice cream was delicious. Overall, it's a very reliable five-star hotel in Shanghai, suitable for both business trips and short stays.

The location of Pudong Shangri-La is excellent, right next to the Oriental Sports Center and directly opposite Qiantan Taikoo Li. It's also a very popular hotel, with many guests checking in. On July 25th, before 2 PM, there was already a queue at the front desk. The check-in staff seemed very unprofessional; they were slow, and even engaged in lengthy conversations with guests, which made things even slower. They claimed there weren't enough housekeepers and that we'd have to wait an hour for our room key, suggesting we go explore outside while we waited. This was on a day when it was 40 degrees Celsius outside! So we just had to wait, with no water offered and no updates on our room status. When we inquired at the front desk at 3:30 PM, they were still unhelpful. It wasn't until I got visibly upset that a manager came out, provided our room key, and offered complimentary breakfast as compensation. Objectively, the room service, restaurant service, room amenities, and dining were all excellent, meeting Shangri-La's usual standards. The prompt compensation was also well-handled and appreciated. However, the check-in staff at the front desk clearly lacked professionalism and communication skills, and the entire front desk area felt quite chaotic. I hope they can improve this aspect. For privacy reasons, I won't share photos of the staff members at the time, but it was genuinely one of the worst check-in experiences I've had in all my years of staying in hotels.

1) I gave the service 3 stars because the hotel called back for a follow-up, otherwise it would have been worse.
2) Our flight was delayed, and we arrived at the hotel after midnight. The first thing the front desk asked us when we checked in was if we had come to the wrong hotel, as there are two Shangri-La hotels. I told him I wasn't aware of two Shangri-La hotels and showed him the location on my phone to confirm if we were in the right place. After he looked at it, he confirmed we weren't wrong. We then proceeded to check in with our IDs. I think his approach should have been different; he should have asked for our IDs first, and only after confirming a mistake, informed us about the other Shangri-La, though we weren't at the wrong hotel.
3) We were told breakfast ended at 10:30 AM the next day. This was probably because we checked in too late, and he mistakenly thought it was Saturday. Breakfast on weekdays (Mon-Fri) ends at 10:00 AM, while on weekends (Sat-Sun) it ends at 10:30 AM. However, we all thought breakfast ended at 10:30 AM, which led to the following breakfast incident.
4) We went for breakfast at 9:50 AM, which turned into an even worse experience. Before 10:15 AM, my child asked a server for another pancake, but the server, from about 3 meters away, replied, 'Ma'am, there are no more.' My point here is that the server could have been more friendly and polite, approached my child, and explained that the chef was off duty and it was past the time to make more. This might have helped my child accept the situation better.
5) The hotel's follow-up call was friendly; they offered a discounted room rate and a complimentary use of the Chinese restaurant for our next visit. We didn't need or accept it. We only travel with our child two or three times a year, and what we need is a comfortable experience.

Staying at the China World Hotel again, it still feels familiar and welcoming, like coming home – extremely comfortable. The room is clean and bright, facing the Third Ring Road, and watching the scenery outside the window really lifts my spirits. The gym and swimming facilities are excellent, quiet, and well-maintained. The executive lounge staff are friendly and appropriate, and the food is abundant and delicious. I've already booked a room for next weekend, making China World a cool haven this hot summer.

I have to give a huge shout-out to Hanna at the front desk! I booked a ”pay-at-the-property” room this time and was a bit worried about a complicated payment process. But Hanna was super efficient, sending a QR code for payment right away and guiding me through it. The whole thing took less than two minutes. To top it off, she proactively upgraded our room for free, and we found a welcome fruit platter waiting for us as soon as we entered – instantly putting us in a vacation mood. After checking out, I contacted her to get an invoice, and she responded incredibly quickly, no delays at all. The entire experience was simply seamless. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in this city, all thanks to front desk staff like her who deserve repeat business!

My only minor complaint was with the concierge at the ground floor entrance; they weren't very proactive in welcoming guests, and I wasn't informed that a key card was needed to access the 64th floor.

Everything else was fantastic. Check-in was very quick, I received a complimentary room upgrade, and they even helped me arrange a room with a large sofa.

The customer service staff were all very enthusiastic.

The bartender on the 80th floor made some beautiful cocktails.

The staff at the breakfast restaurant were excellent, and the food was delicious 👌🏻

My only suggestion would be to consider adding some activities for children near the gym, as the existing equipment isn't suitable for them.

I've stayed at various hotels in Beijing, but since having a child, I prioritize kid-friendly facilities. This one is by far the best I've found for little ones. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating; my son just had to look at them and they'd smile. We chose the Treehouse themed room, which was more than spacious enough for four adults. It had its own private courtyard, a slide for the kids, and a swing and sofa for the adults to relax on. The restaurant on the first floor was also fantastic, with great food and warm, enthusiastic service. The Naibao Playland was very clean, and they even engaged the kids with games. We're definitely coming back for the National Day holiday!

This is probably the only star-rated hotel near Luohu Port. Although the hotel's interior facilities are a bit dated, they still feel very high quality. There's an underground passage directly connecting the hotel to Luohu Port. The staff were very enthusiastic and welcoming.

I chose this hotel because I was going to Hong Kong 🇭🇰, and it was so convenient! It's just a 100-meter walk to Futian Railway Station, and the subway is also easily accessible. My child really wanted to take the subway, so we went to Hong Kong. The two round trips were really unpleasant. This place is part of China, yet you have to put up with the attitudes of the people there; they look so impatient, as if we mainlanders owe them something. Without our mainland fish, how would your economy grow? I'll never go there again. Shenzhen is much better, with great food and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was good too 👍. Seeing Hong Kong people coming to Shenzhen to spend money, it makes you realize how much more affordable the mainland is. A bowl of noodles in Hong Kong costs over a hundred, and everything is expensive. I'll definitely come back to Shenzhen for food, drinks, and fun. Happy! There were no crowds at Disneyland during the summer vacation 🤗, and there will be fewer and fewer people in the future. Welcome to Shanghai Disneyland, where you don't have to deal with anyone's bad attitude; just let loose and have fun!

My stay at Shangri-La Shenzhen Nanshan truly exceeded all expectations, I simply have to rave about it!

💁 Butler Service: Nico was incredibly attentive!
Nico called me in advance to confirm my check-in needs and preferences. On the day of arrival, she even upgraded us to a bay view room on a higher floor with a stunning view, free of charge. She personally escorted us from the ground floor all the way to our room, explaining all the facilities and providing helpful tips along the way – so thoughtful! During our stay, any request we had was met with an immediate response. Nico, our butler, was truly caring, gentle, and professional.

🌃 Night View: The 'cloud-level' vista was absolutely breathtaking!
The hotel lobby and guest rooms are mainly located from the 66th to the 78th floor. Even before entering the room, you can overlook the entire Shenzhen Bay, which is truly stunning. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows on the higher floors offer an exceptionally expansive view, with Shenzhen Bay and the city skyline spread out before you. In the evening, the golf course, the 'Spring Bamboo' tower, and Shenzhen Bay are all visible, making the scenery particularly amazing. Gazing at the city lights from the 66th floor, any fatigue instantly melted away.

🍽️ Dining: Both the buffet dinner and breakfast were plentiful!
The dinner buffet offered an incredibly rich variety of dishes, with seafood, sashimi, desserts, and Haagen-Dazs ice cream – everything you could wish for. The hotel's breakfast buffet was also very extensive, with many options. The freshly made congee, fresh coconut opened on the spot, and authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum were all fantastic. The freshly made rice noodle rolls and morning tea dim sum were also very authentic. Breakfast was enjoyed at the high-altitude restaurant on the 66th floor, offering panoramic views of Shenzhen Bay. Eating breakfast by the window, while enjoying the scenery, was pure bliss.

Overall, the service, views, and dining were all top-notch. I'm grateful that my Trip.com Black Diamond membership's 'one city, one room' benefit allowed us to experience the charm of Shangri-La Nanshan.
