Atlantis The Palm: a true luxury getaway!

Stayed here recently and loved every minute. The service was top‑notch — the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms are spacious and stylish, with amazing sea views. Aquaventure Waterpark and The Lost Chambers Aquarium are must‑sees. Great restaurants, lovely beach and pools. A perfect mix of luxury and fun — highly recommend! 🌟

Our check in time was 3:00 PM
While we checked in past 5:00 PM, when we reached room, housekeeping was still inside cleaning
The room was not ready 2 hrs past check in time?

Upon booking I had requested happy birthday decoration and called reception, they said they will provide complimentary dessert, it was not there, and they did not bring it at all during our stay
I called, they said it will come… but it didnt, they just brought fruits which we did not touch… much later after we checked in….

We had to call for our luggage too, it was delayed, it didnt reach after our check in, it seems they lost it…. Called back asking for luggage description

The room was very hot when we walked in, and AC was malfunctioning… at times it was cool but most times it was hot… and we had to call for that too

Overall, the hotel was beautiful, room was spacious, you can walk around endlessly in lobby and look around but you would not expect such hiccups to take place in such a high end and iconic hotel like Atlantis The Royal

Things we did not like:
- Room was still being cleaned 2 hours after check-in time
- Birthday requests and promised complimentary dessert were not fulfilled
- Delayed arrival of luggage
- AC!!! Room too warm 💔
- Had to repeatedly call reception for basic requests

This five-star review is dedicated to Ms. Zhou from Ctrip (employee ID 711584), Manager Zhang who was on duty in the afternoon of our check-in day, and our butler, Beike.

However, my actual experience was very disappointing, and I feel it's necessary to share it with other consumers.

Atlantis Sanya was the fourth hotel we stayed at during this Sanya trip, and it ranked fourth in our family's overall preference. We chose to stay at Atlantis Sanya during the expensive National Day holiday period, but our experience was not as good as the previous three hotels. From being sternly told by a security guard to immediately move our car when we were unloading luggage near the hotel lobby, to the inability to choose a floor or change to cash payment for the room at the front desk during check-in, and then our child catching a cold immediately after checking in, which prevented us from visiting the waterpark on the first day. The waterpark was also crowded with guests from outside Atlantis Sanya. The room decor felt old and didn't match a 'seven-star' hotel. The aquarium was also overrun with non-hotel guests, leading to severe overcrowding. The restaurants in the food street were extremely poor value for money. There seemed to be bed bugs as my child's mother was covered in bites. Atlantis Sanya is also quite far from Haitang Bay Beach, requiring a long trek, and there's no exclusive hotel beach. The wave pool experience wasn't much better than Harbin Poseidon.

Bringing the kids for a day to just tick it off the list was enough. I deeply regret booking two nights; it was pointless. From the perspective of hotel entertainment facilities, Atlantis Sanya does have some unique features: the waterpark, aquarium, dolphin encounters, C Show, and kids' club. These do hold some appeal for children, but not to the extent of making them want to linger. From a comfort perspective, the stay was simply terrible. The restaurants were okay; breakfast and dinner were acceptable, somewhere between Ritz-Carlton and Sanyue Zheng.

The service quality of the staff varied greatly. As mentioned before, some were exceptionally good, while others were very bad. It seemed to depend on who you encountered – pure luck?

To summarize, experiencing Atlantis Sanya once during the off-season is sufficient. It's best to avoid peak season, and only one day's experience is needed.
