Welcome to The Mission House. Our home is located on a quiet country road in the Finger Lakes Area of Western NY. We are located about 10-15 minutes south of Canandaigua Lake, one hour south of Rochester and about 45 minutes north of Corning. We are centrally located to wineries, breweries, hiking trails, ski resorts (Swain, Bristol), fishing, Canandaigua and Keuka Lake and two state parks (Letchworth and Stony Brook.) It truly is a beautiful area with lots to do!At The Mission House, we have trails throughout our wooded property for walking, hiking, and cross country skiing. There is a NYS trout stream on the property. We have a bird feed station, so you can sit on the porch and watch the native birds. If you enjoy nature, this a great place to rest, relax and take in the scenery. Our home has Stickley (mission style) furniture throughout. There is an open concept main floor with kitchen, living room and dining room. The kitchen has all the amenities you would have in your home, including a Keurig, toaster oven, microwave, oven, frig, and dishwasher. There is also a wine frig. Island seating centers the kitchen for conversation and added work space. The dining area is large and inviting. We also have a large covered porch off the kitchen for eating, relaxing after a long hike, watching the birds or just taking in the view. If you prefer to cook outside there is a grill located just off the porch. A work area is located in the central space also. There is plenty of seating in the the living room area to visit with friends, cuddle up with a book or watch a movie on our large screened TV. There are two large bedrooms available with king sized beds with cotton linens. There are blackout blinds in each of our bedrooms, so you can have a good night's sleep. You will also find two full bathrooms with double sink vanities, large mirrors, large showers and cotton towels. We have a firepit with Adirondack chairs for you to enjoy a beautiful evening. Kindling, starter, and fire wood are available for your use. Our laundry room has a washer and dryer with space for folding clothing. There is plenty of closet space throughout the house for your clothing storage needs. Located on 92 scenic park-like acres, the farm invites you to take a step back and enjoy the trails through the woods or relax by the secluded pond. Though the farm feels remote, it is only minutes away from many wineries and Keuka Lake. The loft studio offers a full kitchen, spacious studio layout, and barn beam accents. You can even add horseback riding to your stay at Mountain Rose!The spaceMountain Rose Farm’s Loft Studio is perfect for two on a peaceful getaway but if you are looking to vacation with friends/family, our Guest Cottage beside the Loft Studio is also available for rent (subject to availability) and sleeps two as well.We are located by Mount Washington in a peaceful valley down a quiet country road. The cottage is set back from the road to give you a quiet and private stay bordered by a babbling stream. We provide comfortable accommodations in our fully furnished Guest Loft Studio above our garage. This spacious studio includes a full kitchen with a conventional oven and stovetop, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, blender, coffee maker, toaster, cookware, dining set, various spices, etc. The Loft Studio is furnished with a four-poster queen bed handcrafted from beams out of an old tobacco barn, walk-in closet, large kitchen island for dining with three bar stools, two reclining couches, recliner, flat-screen TV with Roku, and indoor propane fireplace. A washer and dryer are available for your use in the garage downstairs. Outdoor space includes a front porch with porch swing, and propane grill. Also, we provide a bundle of firewood for an evening campfire and marshmallows down at the fire ring! If needed, more firewood is available here for $5/bundle.Enjoy the view from the porch and you may even catch sight of the whitetail deer, hawks, wild turkey, and occasional fox who call Mountain Rose their home too. The farm is a dark skies location with incredible stargazing on clear nights as the Milky Way is right overhead!*Loft Studio is accessed by garage entrance door and up a flight of stairs. Inner door to studio has deadbolt and access code.Guest accessThe upstairs Loft Studio is for your personal use and you are free to use and enjoy all spaces and amenities upstairs. The downstairs garage/workshop (you will walk through this space to access the Loft stairs entrance) is our personal storage space and any items down there are not to be used unless permission is granted. The washer and dryer are located in this downstairs space which you may use as convenient. Please note that this washer and dryer is shared with the cottage guests as well. The ground level front porch of the Loft Studio is for your private use, as well as the grill and picnic table to the right side of the Loft Studio around the corner. The yard, creek, fish pond, and trails are all available for your enjoyment but could be shared with any cottage guests. The Cottage porch, grill, patio are for the cottage renters only. You are welcome to visit the horses along the fence lines but no one is permitted to enter the pastures or stalls unless one of us is present and permission has been granted.Other things to note*The loft space is only accessible by a flight of stairs*WiFi and TV streaming are available*No pets or farm animals inside the Loft Studio, please.*We may be a working horse farm, but equestrians and non-equestrians alike are more than welcome!*Streaming via the wifi may be slow at times and cell phone service at certain spots on the farm and the surrounding back roads can be in and out. So if you are looking for the fastest internet and the best cell service, our farm may not be the best option for you.*Please note that we are situated a couple miles down a dirt roadHorseback Riding and AccommodationIn addition to vacation accommodation, we offer hour long horseback trail rides (for ages 8+) around our property if you wish to add this experience to your stay. Trail rides are in addition to your stay ($65/person) and reservations must be made by calling/texting us for a time slot. Although pets inside are not allowed, we welcome the larger outdoor pets as guests are encouraged to bring their own horses! For the horse owner looking for a new place to ride with their own horse, we provide pastures, open-air stalls, and great trails for your use on our property and state forest land with trails nearby. Horse accommodation requires a current negative Coggins. A 12x12 stall with bedding and stud-style, personal paddock turnout is available for $30/horse/night, and you are responsible for your stall(s) cleanup. The porch wraps all the way around and has an area that is screened-in during the summer season and can be transformed to a clear vinyl three season room during the fall and early spring seasons.The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, and a gas cooktop. The outdoor cooking area is equipped with a pellet grill and a gas fired griddle. To add to your outdoor experience, there are cooking grates that fit over the outdoor fire-pit for to enhance your cabin experience. The downstairs bedroom has a set of twin bunkbeds and an additional twin bed. The upstairs bedroom has two queen beds. WiFi is included as well as smart TV’s in main living areas so you can easily stream all of your shows during downtime. This home boasts 3 bedrooms; first the king master en-suite with stunning 1800’s doors from Belgium, to capture the lake views. A queen bedroom with lake views and a Jack and Jill bath with a full sized bathtub rounds out the second bedroom. A triple bunk bed completes the third bedroom with the shared Jack and Jill bath. The half bath is on our landing level with a washer and dryer available to guests. We provide our renters two single kayaks, a stand up paddle board, and life vests to use during their stay. This home is walking distance to the Lakeside Restaurant and just a short trip up the hill and you have access to many area wineries, breweries and distilleries! There is parking for 5 cars and our boat dock may be used by guests who wish to enjoy fishing, boating and water sports with their own boat. There is also a fire pit area with some fire wood to get you started and a finished walk out lake level lounge for the use of our guests. The lounge is equipped with a dining table and chairs, a sofa and tables, a pool table and a dart board. This is a great hang out space, especially appreciated by our teenage guests.
