Anasa Wellness Resort
"A Restorative Escape at Asana Wellness Resort Our stay at Asana Wellness Resort was nothing short of rejuvenating. Nestled on the mountainside, our private house on stilts was surrounded by lush greenery and misty treetops—like living in a treehouse with the comforts of a luxury retreat. We felt instantly healthier and more grounded just being there. One of the highlights was walking the red clay path that loops through the grounds. It took about 45 minutes and offered breathtaking views, with tea pickers at work in the distance adding to the charm and authenticity of the setting. The food was fresh and flavorful—healthy without ever feeling restrictive. The gym’s personal trainer Ramesh gave us a fantastic session, with personalized stretching that left us feeling energized and loose. We also took part in yoga session with a kind soul, and spent time unwinding in the sauna followed by a refreshing dip in the cold plunge pool. Cigerettes and alcohol are banned. Every detail felt intentional and nurturing. Asana isn’t just a resort—it’s a true wellness experience. Thank you to the great team"
98 Acres Resort & Spa
"This hotel was a wonderful facility where I could enjoy panoramic beautiful views and fresh ingredients, including vegetables grown on the hotel grounds. I was also soothed by the many birds, especially the peacocks. The oil massage at the spa was also very pleasant. I'd love to visit again."
Clio Ella Resort
"It was the most memorable part of our srilanka tour . Amazing , compeletely amazing place ! The staff is so so good , like all of them are nice , especially Lalit . Will remember this jungle stay forever"
Moi Ella by DBI
"This NOT a 4 star hotel. Even the staff confirmed that. The room was tiny, no space at all and you have to open the shower doors to sit comfortably on the toilet. The bed has a pedestal on one side and the other is flush against the cupboard. There are plug point/ power outlets on the cupboard where your head rests. The hotel is situated far away from the Town of Ella. However the location is set in beautiful surroundings of nature. The menu is limited and you have to make your choices on arrival. There staff were very apologetic and were kind and courteous."
Dream Cliff Mountain Resort
"A truly wonderful spot , the view is breathtaking and what a welcome! The bee hive rooms are quirky and comfortable, with a rather firm mattress and low lighting. This can be challenging when it gets dark to find anything in your case lol. All of the staff are lovely and very professional, the restaurant and the bar face that stunning view again. Breakfast is delicious, slightly different every day and eggs or omelettes on demand. Dinner too was delicious. Choices are made earlier in the day. We found we just wanted to stay and enjoy the pool and rest for our two days here and not leave ! All in all a very special place to stay, would definitely return"
The Cubes Ella
"The owner was very friendly and polite, the room was nice, and it was quiet to sleep."
Ella Flower Garden Resort
"Had a really nice stay at Ella flower garden with my family.Special thanks to some special staff members Mr Manujaya from the reception and Mr Sampath and Mr Lalith from the restaurant who we very helpful and extra caring to us through out our stay.would love to have a stay again."
Ella Ridge View
"The view for breakfast is gorgeous! There is chargeable laundry service, convenient to travelers. But the voltage is relatively low, when we tried to use the hairdryer, the lights were flickering. The equipments there are dilapidated."
Misty Elegance - Ella.
"Such a lovely stay at the Misty Elegance. The staff were really helpful and they provided an efficient laundry service. Our room was clean, it is on the more basic side however was lovely and peaceful. The bathroom was clean with modern fittings, which is not always the case in our experience! The setting of the hotel is fantastic, as you are a 5 min walk from the station or 10/15 mins to town so everything is accessible. However, it is up in the forest so much more peaceful that the centre of Ella which is quite busy and noisy. Would definitely recommend staying here!"

The Capoe House
"Stunning stunning stunning! This place must be an incredibly well kept secret, we felt SO lucky to stay here. We had the whole villa to ourselves, it was like being at a beautiful home. So private, so much room, incredible decor. Eranda was our resident manager, and could not have been more kind and communicative. He was dealing with something, yet consistently checked in with us, all smiles and kindness, just a wonderful, lovely host. The butler service was amazing, and we could not have been more grateful. Best new years in Sri Lanka. You are lucky if you get to stay here, it's magical!!!"
Jetwing Warwick Gardens, A Luxury Reserve
"Unique Place.......Must Visit.......too far from main area ........Property have great Views......customized Food and personal attention given to guest.....Good Cleanliness......"
Living Heritage Koslanda
"Had a fabulous visit to Living Heritage Koslanda - a beautiful place, very natural and peaceful with a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The accommodation was fabulous - we stayed in a forest pavilion which was like a wonderful room in the trees with every comfort catered for - it was fantastic to be so close to nature but the room was also extremely comfortable. The pool area was wonderful with an infinity pool looking out over the valley below, a wonderful yoga pavilion with fantastic sp treatments below, which I sampled twice and both were excellent. The food was also lovey with choice of western or Sri Lankan and guests were invited to meet at 7:30 each night for a cocktail before dinner. A small and personal accommodation meant you were treated as special guests and left feeling like long lost friends. I would absolutely recommend this place and I will certainly be returning."
Aloft Grand Hotel Ella
"Wonderfully friendly staff. Super helpful! Anything we asked for they provided with smiles on their faces. Beautiful pool. Clean rooms. Great experience !"
Hideaway Ella
"The hotel is located about 10-15 km outside Ella but therefore very quiet in a paradise location with a view of the hills and mountains around Ella including Little Adam's Peak. Very spacious rooms with ditto bathroom. It is not very luxurious (maybe once) but is certainly a pleasant, comfortable and clean hotel. Rooms have a fan (no air conditioning, which is not really necessary in this part of Sri Lanka) and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was served outside; with the above-mentioned view and English crockery you imagine yourself back in colonial times. Or just God in France. In short: we enjoyed our stay there very much."
Lilara Hills - Diyatalawa
"The hotel is in the mountains and forests, the environment is very good, there is a large terrace, the boss is a very kind couple, the breakfast is also very rich, the black tea is very good, you can take various photos near the hotel, take pictures of the starry sky, the galaxy and fireflies on the terrace. Super cost-effective, very recommended"
Serenite Ella
"On arrival we received a very nice welcome with cold towels and a drink, we only had 1 night here as part of a tour. This is a good hotel, a little different to what we expected but nonetheless we enjoyed our experience. The hotel is perched on the mountainside overlooking Ella Gap with the most amazing views from the balcony. We had a triple room for 3 travellers ( family with a teenage 14 y o girl). The room itself is actually a chalet, quite small with the double bed pushed against the wall. The chalet is accessed by quite a few sets of stone stairs, accessibility for someone less able would be a challenge but they did help with transporting luggage but the walk back up to reception and the restaurant takes a bit of effort !! The rooms are equipped well and clean unfortunately though our kettle didn’t work and some plug sockets were unusable, but we managed with an extension socket. I had been looking forward to an early morning brew in the balcony to enjoy the scenery but without the kettle didn’t manage this. Monkeys are everywhere which is lively and they do make a noise early on from about 4am!! Don’t leave the balcony door open ! They weren’t a problem and just added to the jungle vibe. We ate dinner in the restaurant from the set menu - it was fine in the main but my husband’s dinner wasn’t very warm in hindsight we should have mentioned it but that’s our fault. We had an early start the next day and breakfast was served from 7.30 .. they very kindly took our breakfast order the night before and made it early enough for us to eat before we left, that was a lovely gesture and we were very grateful.. the staff were very kind. All in all if you end up staying here it’s a great experience, we didn’t get to use the pool although it looked small the views from it were stunning and I’d recommend this as a great little place for couples or friends as opposed to families! Thank you for a lovely evening !"
Wishing Tree Boutique Resort Haputale
Top Mountain Resort
"I want to share my honest experience about a recent stay at a “wenasa”hotel AKA “top mountain resort” in Diyathalawa, and let me tell you, it was quite an adventure! First off, finding the location was a bit of a challenge. Arriving late at around 9 PM, we were greeted with gusts of snowy wind and winding roads that were nearly covered in white. Our trusty Google Maps led us into a maze of tea estates and narrow paths cloaked in paddy fields, eventually landing us at a dead end. After some navigating, we finally found our way to the hotel! A tip for future travelers: if you want to find the hotel easily, head to the Diyathalawa General Hospital. Just a little down on the right, you’ll spot a big lion statue. Follow that path for about 300 meters, and look for the hotel sign, take the road that slopes down! Once we arrived, the hotel staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we walked in until check-out. The place itself was nestled in a stunning mountain area, offering breathtaking views. Our deluxe room was neat and spacious, featuring a cozy double bed along with two big single beds (even you can share it with 2). There was a slight odor coming from the bathroom, likely from the furniture or paint, but it was nothing serious. I assure you, the bathroom was clean and well-sanitized, and the hot water was a delightful treat after our long journey. The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, and wow, it was worth every penny! We ordered the English breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious, filling us up nicely for the day ahead. The staff continued to impress us with their friendliness, always smiling and eager to help whenever we needed anything. If you're looking for a cozy spot to stay around Bandarawela or Diyathalawa, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a hidden gem, and I can't wait to visit again!"
