I would even go so far as to say that a visit to Ascona is worth it for a stay at the Eden Roc. Lake Maggiore is omnipresent in the hotel. The outdoor area is right on the shore. The service surprises with small details that put a smile on your face. Outstanding cleanliness. And a spa area that leaves nothing to be desired. With a heated outdoor pool that is still really warm and offers a play of light in the water vapor at night."

"This was a superb and very comfortable hotel. We were upgraded to a family room with balcony and lake views although the extra space included a room with bunk beds which we did not need. The hotel has had a total refurbishment in the past few years and is contemporary but not too modern. Service was top notch. Although there was a wedding on the night we arrived our small group ate in the restaurant and had outstanding food. Superb breakfast."

"The Jazz Hotel is a cheaply furnished hotel in a central location in Ascona. The rooms are cheaply furnished and soundproof. We booked through a reputable booking platform. For a full week's stay, we were given the worst and noisiest room in the hotel, right next to reception with loud music and opposite the breakfast room and a freely accessible coffee machine. This meant no sleeping in and no privacy. We therefore asked for a quieter room. For an additional charge of CHF 250 (!), we were able to move into the same cheaply furnished, small room on a different floor. I'm unclear as to why we were charged this extra fee; it was supposedly an upgrade. The bathroom is old and very small, so you often end up hitting yourself. The shower was very small and calcified. The breakfast room has the ambiance of a train station waiting room. The breakfast is straightforward and always the same, served carelessly with lots of ready-made products. There wasn't fresh bread, rolls, or croissants every day, and stale sausage, cheese, and Bircher muesli were offered every day. Conversation in the breakfast room was almost impossible due to the noisy refrigerated counter. This was by far the worst place I've ever spent my time in, and the price was definitely not cheap. Never again."

"A really nice hotel with wonderful environment located above Ascona. The ladies at the reception were very friendly although not very professional but everything was all good. What was not in order was breakfast incl. service. The rhetoric was ugly and tasted horriblely for it missed the brat spike. The coffee machine did not work properly. Instead of a capuccino, some coffee came out no longer. The breads were not fresh and the Birchermüesli was too sweet and so on. Please go to Casa Moscia (about 100m walking distance) breakfast, then you know what a superb breakfast is and how it should be. Then try the dinner there. All in your restaurant needs to be radically changed. First of all, the incompetent staff. Even if you can work with the chef of the Casa Mosca. This would be a good solution to the problem, for example."

"This was billed as a very good Hotel but I felt very let down. It was expensive but the amenities and service levels were lacking. The aircon didn’t work properly and only after repeated complaints did I get a lifesaving fan in the intense heat. The WiFi was also poor, I had to keep going outside into the corridor to get to back. No coffee machine or kettle, no list of prices for minibar or room service. The pool was lovely with a wonderful view but the promised jacuzzi was empty. The staff were not too friendly either. There is a shuttle but you have to ask and it stops at 4. Why? It’s a long way up the hill. If you don’t have a car, not a good idea. Just not a place where the customer was front and centre.."

"The hotel was friendly but very family-oriented. We sat around the pool, but so many children were running around and screaming. This was not what we expected. Our booked room was unavailable at 3 pm, so they upgraded us to the same room in the new wing. However, it was close to the baby pool, which was even noisier. The reception staff were fine but not friendly. It took them more than 30 minutes to check us in. When we left, they did not help to lift the luggage to the car, but the staff did for the French before us. Maybe I was an Asian....... The staff in the restaurant was the best—very friendly and efficient. The food in the Hide & Seek and the ECCO restaurant was nice. While the hotel is clearly designed for families, it may not be the ideal spot for couples seeking a quieter retreat. There were some instances where the staff could benefit from additional training to ensure a consistently high level of service."
