Having stayed at the Shangri-La on Tayuan Road before, I decided to revisit with my whole family during the National Day holiday this time. It certainly didn't disappoint! The room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of Lion Hill and the city. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep for the entire family. The hotel amenities are perfect for family trips. The heated swimming pool has a children's play area, so swimming in this weather isn't chilly at all. The gym is well-equipped, so both adults and children can find ways to relax. The location is superb, making travel very convenient. It's just a short drive to famous Suzhou attractions like Hanshan Temple and the west branch of the Suzhou Museum. The service is thoughtful and meticulous; check-in at the front desk was efficient, and Lisa was gentle and polite. The service was as attentive as ever. Even with the large crowds during National Day, he managed to arrange a room with a great view for us and even provided welcome fruit. The quality of service definitely didn't dip. For our whole family, it was a delightful National Day holiday spent here.

The service response time is generally acceptable but doesn't meet five-star standards. In this regard, using robots actually slowed things down; it took a while to get two shower caps. The breakfast variety is also average and falls short of five-star expectations, although there's a significant price difference between rooms with and without breakfast. The night view at the end of the corridor is quite nice, but the view from the room is much less impressive.

Although the window faces the street and offers city views, the hotel thoughtfully installed double-paned glass, which provides amazing soundproofing – I slept soundly until morning. The front desk staff, concierge, and luggage storage personnel all provided exceptional service. They were proactively friendly, always smiling, and helped with our luggage. When my husband cut his hand, the front desk staff immediately offered alcohol wipes and a plaster. Staying at this hotel made it very convenient to get to nearby tourist attractions; a taxi ride typically took about 15 minutes, and subway access was also very easy.

I brought my daughter to Suzhou this weekend and stayed at a hotel again. This time, we chose the Nikko Hotel in Shishan, and the actual experience was fantastic, highly recommended! Even my daughter said she wants to keep staying here in the future. Parking was very convenient for self-driving, with plenty of spaces, and there were several fast-charging stations on the ground level, which was handy for charging. As soon as we entered the lobby, the hotel's scent was very refreshing. The room was spacious, and the view from the window was superb. The shower had great water pressure, and the bedding was comfortable. The hotel's pool and sauna facilities were also excellent. Plus, there are plenty of attractions and dining options nearby. This will definitely be our top choice for future visits to Suzhou. Highly recommended!

I booked this hotel last week, and I stumbled upon it by chance. I thought it would be a very ordinary old hotel, but I was shocked as soon as I walked in. The facade is incredibly grand, truly on par with established five-star hotels. I arrived at the hotel before noon, thinking I wouldn't be able to check in, but to my surprise, the front desk enthusiastically informed me that there was a room available, and they processed my check-in right away. They even upgraded me to a business floor. The hotel has three elevators, which are very efficient. I stayed on the 10th floor, and it was incredibly quiet. I slept soundly until morning. The room's curtains also blocked out light very well, and the room itself was large and spacious. There's a laundry room and a gym on the 5th and 4th floors. I have a small suggestion: it would be great to add two more washing machines to the laundry room, as there were quite a lot of people doing laundry on the weekend, and I had to wait a long time without getting a turn. However, this wouldn't affect someone staying for just a day or two. When checking out, the front desk kindly offered bottled water. It was truly a very satisfying stay!

Whenever I visit Suzhou, I always make an effort to find hotels with courtyards. This one is tucked away in the bustling city center yet surprisingly quiet, and parking is very convenient. The courtyard here is large and exquisitely designed; I always take a stroll outside before heading back to my room. The rooms at this long-established hotel were an even bigger surprise – spacious and clean. Both the front desk staff and the housekeeping aunties were very friendly, warm, and attentive. Right outside the hotel is Shiquan Street, and there's also a lovely riverside path for walks. I had a very pleasant weekend here.

A taxi ride costs just over ten yuan to get to any of them, and the Grand Canal is right next to the hotel. It's a lovely area to stroll around in the evening. The room was very comfortable, with many smart facilities, including the curtains and toilet. There were also many TV channels. The room and bedding weren't dry, making for a very pleasant stay. The hotel's location is excellent, offering expansive views and beautiful scenery. It's a short, pleasant stroll along the river, less than ten minutes, to reach the lake cruise pier, Jiuguang Department Store, and Eslite Spectrum commercial area. The service was exceptional – just right, not overly intrusive, but attentive to our needs. It felt very well-trained. The breakfast, surprisingly, had noticeable variations over the two days, avoiding the monotonous repetition often found. The indoor pool was also great, with a maximum depth of 1.4 meters, making it very reassuring to swim in. The photos were taken about 5-6 minutes after leaving the hotel, on the edge of Jinji Lake, showing some birds. It seems the ecology here is excellent, as I saw many different birds, even on a rainy day.

Staying at the Crowne Plaza, I'd like to particularly commend the hotel's facility maintenance and environmental hygiene. All the equipment in the guest room worked perfectly, the air conditioning temperature control was responsive, high-speed Wi-Fi was available throughout, and the bathroom water pressure was stable. There were no signs of aging or peeling paint on the furniture or appliances. The cleaning staff were meticulous, ensuring that dust in corners and hair on the floor were thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom had no unpleasant odors, and disposable amenities were generously restocked. The hotel boasts an excellent location, offering prime views of Jinji Lake, with the lakeside promenade right next to the hotel. Across the road from Shushan Village, this Hilton has its own unique charm, though its signature style isn't overtly prominent. It's perfect for a relaxing family getaway, especially with kids (and pets!), offering plenty of recreational facilities. The pool is a bit small, so we just peeked in and decided not to compete with the little ones. The gardens have a natural, wild beauty and are impeccably maintained. Outside the restaurant, a flock of ducks gathers daily, eagerly awaiting treats (the restaurant provides breadcrumbs), much to the delight of both adults and children. The rooms are spread out, but electric carts are always on standby, saving you the hassle of walking, especially with luggage. Parking in Shushan Village can be a pain during peak season. Walking from here isn't impossible, but it would be even better if shared bikes were available nearby.

Cycling around was also very pleasant, although 50 RMB per hour was a bit steep (the bikes were great to ride, though). The swimming pool water was a bit chilly; my daughter only did one lap before getting out to soak in the jacuzzi. I went straight for the hot tub and sauna, which was quite nice. One minor suggestion: the right-hand elevator button in the underground garage isn't great—it actually chipped off a piece of my nail.

The most unique part is the complimentary 'fish spa' pool. It was my first time experiencing the little fish nibbling away dead skin, and it was super fun. The ultimate one-stop destination for families with kids! No need to venture out, both adults and children had a blast! The hotel facilities are truly comprehensive, featuring its own children's water park. There's a shallow pool and small slides for younger kids, the water quality is clean, and the lifeguards are always on duty, which was very reassuring. My child played there happily all afternoon and didn't want to leave. After playing, we went straight to the hot spring area to relax. With dozens of different wellness pools and mild water temperatures, soaking there was incredibly soothing and perfectly relieved the fatigue from playing in the water. Besides the water park and hot springs, there's also an indoor play area, parent-child DIY crafts, and a children's restaurant – everything you need for eating, staying, and playing is available right within the hotel, truly offering a one-stop vacation experience. The room was clean and spacious, and they thoughtfully provided amenities like children's toothbrushes and small slippers. The staff were friendly, and check-in was efficient. We didn't have to worry about a thing regarding our itinerary. We'll definitely come back for our next family vacation with the kids.

After getting off the highway, I followed the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake all the way to the lake and — —Zero distance to Taihu Lake. A hotel with a sense of design. You can see the endless Taihu Lake (like the seaside) from the room. The restaurant on the second floor. You can see the island in the distance. You can see the chinaberry tree swaying in the wind in the near distance. There is also a very touching orange small house. It is like a fairyland. It comes into view. This is a place to relax and soothe emotions. The room service is also perfect. The welcome fruit and midnight snacks are also full of sincerity. It was a great experience. Nanyuan Hotel My trip to Suzhou and my stay at Nanyuan Hotel had a bit of a bumpy start. I had originally booked a package through Ctrip for the Xiangqu Tower at Nanyuan Hotel, but something unexpected came up at home. I submitted an explanation through the backend and called the hotel. They immediately helped me cancel the reservation and even told me that I could rebook anytime before the end of the year if there was availability, welcoming me to visit Suzhou. I was so grateful! Even though I couldn't go then, it warmed my heart. Plans often change, and the situation at home quickly improved, allowing me to travel as originally planned. I hurried to rebook, and this time I chose the newly renovated building at Nanyuan Hotel, the Yingjie Tower. After checking in, I knew I made the right choice – it was fantastic. Everything was perfect. Location: I'm not sure if it's considered convenient. It's a bit of a distance from the subway station. However, the hotel has a bus stop right outside (Wangshi Garden Bus Stop), with buses that go directly to the museum. It's also very close to Wangshi Garden; you just cross the road from the hotel and walk about 50 meters. For dining, the hotel has its own restaurant, and there's also the Black Pearl restaurant, Kimpton Bamboo Grove Restaurant at Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel, within walking distance. I went to this restaurant twice during my stay, haha. Ambiance: It's a garden-style hotel, with the buildings nestled within the garden. Currently, there are three buildings available for guests: Xiangqu Tower, Yuejie Tower, and the Lixi Pavilion, which was Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek's villa (I plan to book this one next time). I booked a king-size room this time, located on the first floor with a garden. Although the weather was a bit hot and I didn't go out, the view from inside the room was quite nice. Biggest advantage: Quiet, extremely quiet. I'm a very light sleeper, and I slept exceptionally well during my days at Nanyuan. The air conditioning was on at night, but there was no noise, which was truly excellent. This is the main reason why I will always choose Nanyuan for future visits to Suzhou! Secondly: The room was well-equipped: a small steam iron (this iron was quite good, with strong steam and quick ironing), and the hairdryer seemed to be a Laifen (comparable to Dyson in terms of airflow, powerful enough). There were also various types of hangers, which was very thoughtful. Needless to say, daily necessities like a refrigerator and kettle were also provided. The toiletries were also brand-name, so I won't need to bring my own shampoo next time. Breakfast: The breakfast was quite good. Regardless of which room type you stay in, breakfast is served together on the first floor of the building. The noodles are a must-try; each serving is a small bowl, not too much. You can customize it with various toppings. I had a bowl every day, adding braised pork, seaweed, and a few drops of chili oil, haha. A beautiful day starts with this bowl of noodles. Also, the fruit at this hotel is excellent. Kudos to the staff in the catering department who select the fruit. The honeydew melon was soft and sweet, and the cantaloupe and watermelon were both incredibly sweet and fresh. There were also desserts, sushi, and douhua (tofu pudding), which looked good but I didn't try them so I can't comment. There were also several types of yogurt and Yakult at the restaurant entrance, which were very popular. Service: The service was very professional. The hotel also offers a simple guided tour of its internal attractions for guests, with the latest tour starting at 4:30 PM daily. I booked the 4:00 PM tour, and when I gathered in the lobby, I saw that the staff member was a young lady. I casually took a picture, and her name was Song Shanshan. There were four guests in our group at that time. Ms. Song walked us through, explaining about Chiang's former residence, the 571 underground project, and He Yanong's former residence, Mingxuan, which is also the location of the first Garden Night Banquet of Wuzhong style. Her explanation was overall very good, and I'd like to give her a thumbs up too. After the tour, I asked if the hotel made its own mooncakes and was recommended to buy some at the front desk. I bought a box of Nanyuan Hotel's mooncakes, which are Southern-style with several flavors. They tasted good and were very good value for money. The only minor drawback: the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. But that's a small issue compared to the many advantages; it's negligible, haha. Anyway, I'm definitely staying here every time I visit Suzhou from now on.

Her service was far from rigid or procedural; she was incredibly thoughtful and meticulous, always putting herself in the guest's shoes. She treated me with the warmth and consideration you'd expect from a close friend or family member. It was such a comfortable interaction, and she earned my complete admiration! The hotel's attention to detail was truly impressive. They even provided a thoughtful welcome fruit plate upon check-in, a small touch that added a lovely sense of occasion and was very heartwarming. I especially want to recommend the hotel's swimming pool! The floor-to-ceiling windows offer an absolutely stunning view. Looking up, you're greeted by beautiful scenery; it's spacious, calming, and every spot is perfect for a great photo. The ambiance is simply captivating! In my free time, I took a leisurely stroll to Jinji Lake, which was incredibly relaxing. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I genuinely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou!

Location: The hotel is very close to Pingjiang Road, basically within walking distance. We drove to the hotel, and parking was free. The hotel even has its own charging piles, so no need to charge outside. Our itinerary was only around Pingjiang Road, so driving was very convenient. Baitapu Road was indeed very congested, but the hotel is right on Baitapu East Road. After exiting the Changtai Expressway, we only hit a few minutes of traffic before reaching the hotel. Environment: The hotel definitely shows signs of age, but the environment is very well-suited to the garden theme, and the landscaping is beautiful. Our original room type was very spacious with a balcony. Aside from some noticeable wear on the floor, the cleanliness was fine. Service Attitude: The front desk lady was very friendly. Before checking in, I expressed concerns about the hotel being old, so she first showed us the room. We only checked in after confirming we were satisfied. During check-in, I casually mentioned if we could get an upgrade, and after she requested it from the manager, it was approved! 👍 Getting an upgrade so readily put me in a great mood! Room: The hotel has two renovated buildings. You can inquire about them before checking in. The new rooms are quite good and spacious, with a separate wet and dry area and two sinks. This came in handy later when I bought lotus flowers – one sink was perfect for keeping them! Also, all the cups were shrink-wrapped, ensuring good hygiene. The room type also included a qipao experience + 3 photos, but we had already done our makeup and styling elsewhere so we didn't use it, though I saw other guests taking photos. The room type also came with complimentary Suzhou noodles, specifically the Aocao noodles from the restaurant. I really enjoyed them! There were 4 topping options, and both the braised duck and vegetarian toppings were good. Breakfast was delicious! The red bean paste was particularly well-prepared.

The environment is great, and the facilities are comprehensive. It seems to be an apartment hotel with a history and a good reputation. It's a one-bedroom, one-living room unit with a bathtub. You have to stand in the tub to shower, which I'm not used to – it's a bit narrow and inconvenient. I'm more accustomed to a dedicated shower box. The bedroom and living room are separated by sliding doors. There's no space for nightstands on either side of the large bed, which I also found inconvenient (although you can put things on the headboard). My feet kept hitting the sliding door when getting out of bed, which was annoying. What I did like was the high floor, the view, and the microwave and tableware provided.

Well, I came specifically for this room, and perhaps because of the high price, I had higher expectations and demands for the trip. Overall, I didn't feel it was very worthwhile or worth the price. First, the room rate was bundled with a wellness package, and the price on Ctrip was only for one person's experience; if two people wanted to experience it, it would cost an additional 1500 yuan. The wellness package included three meals, a body spa, various bathing experiences (basically, a traditional Northeastern bathhouse 🌝), and two consultations, one physical and one spiritual. There were also some courses. However, from my experience, if the main focus is on healing, this itinerary was quite rushed, and I didn't feel my body got any rest (maybe it's just my own workload; I can't finish so many things in one day :)). 🏠 First, the decor is predominantly wood, and because it focuses on wellness and healing, there are many crystals for purification. The rooms are also mostly made of pure wood. Since we were newlyweds, the hotel upgraded us to a suite, and the soft furnishings and design in the suite were very nice, making it feel very homey. However, I didn't quite understand the green wallpaper behind the living room. 🍠The focus is on wellness and relaxation, so all three meals are vegetarian, prepared by the hotel. Breakfast portions are generous, and lunch has a Michelin-star quality, with exquisite presentation. ✍🏻️The service didn't match the room's quality. Requests such as missing classes or having meals brought to the room were refused. Customized service was basically unavailable; everything had to be done according to the established procedures. 🌳The ambiance, however, is undeniably beautiful.

I hope you make some improvements. On the day of check-in, I was told a room would be available after 3 PM, which I gladly accepted, saying I wasn't in a hurry. To avoid troubling the staff, I checked in after 7 PM, when the evening light meal service was almost over. On the day of check-out, at 2:30 PM, I returned to my room only to find my key card wouldn't open the door. I called the front desk, and they told me my card was deactivated because I hadn't extended my stay, suggesting I look for a cleaning lady nearby or wait for someone to open the door for me. I waited, but no one came. I found a cleaning lady myself, called the front desk again to verify my identity, and then finally got the door opened. At 2:50 PM, as I was getting ready to check out with my luggage, the front desk called again to ask if I was extending my stay, reminding me it was time to check out. It felt like they told me to come late when I arrived, and then told me to leave quickly when it was time to go.

The facilities are excellent, including a heated swimming pool and a children's play area, making it perfect for both leisure and family getaways. The breakfast spread is extensive with a wide variety of choices. A special shoutout to Yolanda from Guest Relations! Her communication before and during our stay was patient and meticulous. She proactively understood our needs and responded promptly throughout, providing attentive and thoughtful service. When issues arose, she actively coordinated and resolved them with professionalism and kindness. Her detailed and personalized service truly made us feel valued. The exceptional hardware combined with such warm service truly showcases Kempinski's high standard of hospitality. Highly recommended, we will definitely choose this hotel again for our next visit to Suzhou!

I was lucky enough to stay in a Ferris Wheel View Executive Suite for 3 days and 2 nights during the National Day holiday, and it was a very enjoyable trip!~ 1️⃣ **Location:** The hotel's location is super convenient! It's close to Exits 3 and 4 of Times Square Metro Station. Across the street, there's also Shin Kong Place and Eslite Spectrum. 2️⃣ **Room Experience:** True to its 110 square meters, the living room is really huge. I especially loved the bedroom; it's practically a 180-degree view. Lying on the left side, you can see the Ferris wheel and the traffic, and lying on the right, you can see Shin Kong Place and the Gate of the Orient – absolutely fantastic!~ The minibar's drinks and capsule coffee machine were good 😌 and they provided plenty of Nongfu Spring water. During turn-down service, they didn't proactively offer to refill the water, but the attendant noticed two or three bottles had been consumed and immediately helped replenish them. Thank you 🙏 3️⃣ **Club Lounge Afternoon Tea and Dinner:** This trip was primarily a staycation, so we mostly ate at the hotel. I was initially worried that dinner wouldn't be enough, but the dishes were plentiful and varied, and they were refilled very quickly! I'm not sure if the variety and quantity are limited to holidays, so please keep that in mind for reference.~ **Club Lounge Afternoon Tea 15:00-17:00** Salad, fruit, fries, popcorn chicken, and desserts. On the first day, there was sushi; on the second day, it was cucumber bread with tuna. The snack jars contained cranberry cookies, chocolate cookies, kaki no tane (persimmon seeds), and rice crackers. **Dinner Happy Hour 18:00-20:00** 6 hot dishes, 6 cold dishes, 2 soups, 2 steamed dishes (millet cakes or dumplings/buns), bread, sushi, salad, small cakes, as well as freshly squeezed juice and alcoholic beverages. The menu was different on both days and very rich. The slightly peppercorn-flavored 'shui zhu niu rou' (boiled beef) and the very sour tomato vegetable soup were absolutely delicious 🤤🤤 The overall design of the Club Lounge is also very beautiful. If you arrive ten minutes early for meals, you can usually get a window seat, offering a distant view of Jinji Lake at night. I was even lucky enough to capture the Gate of the Orient during a pink sunset!~ 4️⃣ **Breakfast:** The 2F restaurant offers a wide variety, including freshly made noodles and rice vermicelli, pan-fried buns, doufuhua (tofu pudding), and yu tiao (fried dough sticks), etc. – all steaming hot and very appetizing. I highly recommend the smoked mackerel and seafood congee! The 'currently occupied' signs on the tables are a thoughtful touch! You don't have to worry about your seat being taken when you leave to get food. 5️⃣ **Service:** The staff are all very friendly and greet you with a smile. When going down the elevator, they intentionally didn't share it with guests, which was a very considerate and humbling detail. Check-in only took a few minutes, and red date tea was offered nearby. I was unsure if the Executive Suite included breakfast at 2F, so I asked, and to my surprise, the front desk staff immediately offered it as a complimentary extra. I forgot to check his name tag, but I'm truly grateful!~ The pre-arrival phone call was a thoughtful touch. Thanks to Susu for the quick response and for arranging for the attendant to clean during a specific time slot!~ I hope to have the chance to visit again, and I support Hyatt Regency Suzhou 💕

Let me start by highlighting what truly impressed me. First, during check-in, the front desk associate, who I believe was Rain, saw I was with my elderly mother in a wheelchair. He was incredibly thoughtful and assigned us a larger room to make it easier to maneuver the wheelchair. A huge thank you to him again for that. Second, we later opted to switch to a room with a view of Jinji Lake and the Ferris Wheel. The view from the window was absolutely stunning! Although the room was a bit smaller, this was our own request to change, so no fault of the front desk. Our butler, Tracy, also did her best to coordinate and helped us quickly move to room 726. Third, after check-in, our butler Tracy would periodically check in to see if we needed any supplies or amenities. I particularly liked the body lotion, so she kindly gave me a few extra bottles to take home. Fourth, I have to declare that the breakfast at Park Hyatt is the best we've had at any luxury hotel. Even the most common preserved egg and lean pork congee was praised by my mom, and believe me, she's a very picky eater, haha. It's rare for her to say a hotel breakfast is good. The duck blood vermicelli soup, red soup Aozhao noodles, and Danish pastries were absolutely amazing! Fifth, the cleanliness is impeccable, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Sixth, the hotel's public areas are beautiful and very photogenic. Seventh, I'd also like to commend the housekeeping auntie. She even left us a handwritten card, which alone made us feel incredibly warm inside. Eighth, when we checked out, we asked if we could keep the room card as a souvenir, and Rain even gave me an additional room card with a different design. I'm very grateful. Finally, a small suggestion: It would be absolutely perfect if there was a turndown service. It would add an extra touch of thoughtfulness. This was my first stay with this brand, and I will definitely choose it again for future trips. A successful new experience!

All in all, the hotel isn't too bad. Its pricing is reasonable for both foreign and domestic tourists, and located in the old area of the central Gusu distruct, it's conveniently close to all number of notable locations and attractions, with just a short metro ride accessible by a fifteen minute walk through a picturesque part of town. It also offers good amenities, with a room fridge, complementary tea and water, strong room-specific WiFi, self-service laundry and, in the depths of summer, a much needed and effective air conditioner. With that said, the hygiene in our room was somewhat subpar. One corner of the room seemed to have never been cleaned, whilst the toilet floor was littered with cigarette ash despite it being a non-smoking room. The latter of which I wouldn't mind had the room been cleaned between visits, but it seems that no effort was made to deep clean the room before we arrived. We also discovered a section of loose floorboards which too had been gathering dust, and the secondary lock seemed to have been broken and simply rested back in its former position, as it fell onto the ground when we opened the door. Overall our three night stay was good and we enjoyed our time, but there's certainly room for improvement.
