The white machines are HARUKA-only redemption machines, installed exclusively at Kansai-Airport Station, and they can only be used to redeem HARUKA tickets departing from Kansai Airport. Redeeming your ticket at a white machine is quick and easy: just scan the QR code on your Trip.com booking right at the machine—no need to scan your passport. At the gate, simply show your paper ticket to the staff; you don’t need to pass through the turnstiles.
HARUKA trains offer Reserved Seats and Non-Reserved Seats; if you're traveling during peak season and don't want to line up for the non-reserved cars and squeeze in with the crowd, or you're worried there won't be space for your luggage, here's how to choose a HARUKA Reserved Seat.
The white ticket vending machines are mainly for non-reserved seat tickets. For reserved seating, they only issue "Designated Area" reserved seats; if those are sold out, you can only sit in the non-reserved cars. If you want to make sure you book a specific reserved seat, we recommend using the green ticket vending machines instead!
To give international travelers a unique experience, JR West decided in 2019 to combine the popular cartoon character Hello Kitty with HARUKA. Today, Hello Kitty can be seen on the exterior and inside the cars of every HARUKA train, making every ride a little more joyful!
