This was my first trip to Japan's Tohoku region. The Richmond Hotel Morioka is visible right after exiting the JR station. When traveling in Japan, I generally choose hotels near JR stations for their unparalleled convenience in dining, accommodation, transportation, and shopping. I'm especially pleased with the Richmond Morioka. The rooms are slightly larger than hotels in other cities, and the floor-to-ceiling windows make them feel bright and airy. The cleanliness and facilities were satisfactory, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. The check-in/check-out times were better than in other areas. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. If I visit the Tohoku region again, I'll definitely use Morioka as my base, and the Richmond will undoubtedly be my top choice.
The location is beautiful and the views from the car park assured us we had chosen well. Check in was helpful and all facilities were fully explained at this time, allowing us to book our dining time.
The room was comfortable and traditional; the view, amazing! With an afternoon of sunshine, time was taken to enjoy the view in a temperature controlled setting. There was a beautiful tea set and tea provided along with some complementary snacks and water. The toiletries provided were lovely and I shall certainly be looking to purchase these for my home.
Dinner was a Chinese style buffet, with an excellent selection of dishes. Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff.
Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable.
Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite.
I will definitely be returning!

This is a highly recommended and convenient hotel right in Morioka. The location is perfect: it's situated directly across from the train station, easily accessible via the underground walkway. It's also near Kaiunbashi, one of Morioka's signature spots, offering a great scenic view. For ultimate convenience, there's a 7-Eleven located right on the ground floor of the hotel.
Beyond the location, the staff are very nice and incredibly helpful. The lobby provides an impressive array of amenities, more generous than many hotels I've visited. The room size is comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious, meeting the excellent standards of the Daiwa Roynet brand.
The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and helped us by recommending attractions and nearby ski resorts. It was very convenient to get to the ski resort, and the place was clean and hygienic.
The hotel's location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk to Kaiun Bridge. Parking is mechanical and costs 1100 JPY per day. The in-room toiletries are from DHC, which is a nice touch! What truly stands out, however, is the hotel's breakfast on the top floor. The view is absolutely stunning, with clear sights of Mount Iwate. The restaurant staff are incredibly energetic and friendly – they truly deserve praise! The cleaning staff were also very polite.
The check-in staff introduced the hotel attentively and cleaned the room attentively. The ski rental staff are very patient.
But the quality of the food in the restaurant is average, and all the shrimps in the seafood are rotten. And some of the waiters are not polite to the guests.

The main reason for staying at the Hongyeguan Hotel was its convenient location for cherry blossom viewing in the north. It's only a little over half an hour's drive to the exhibition center. The hotel includes two meals: a buffet breakfast and dinner. After cherry blossom viewing, guests can enjoy various delicacies such as king crab, soak in the hot springs, and there are even ethnic performances in the evening. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom on the day we checked in, and Hongyeguan was surrounded by them – it was beautiful!
Be sure to visit the waterfall, the journey is very convenient, it takes only 20 minutes to go back and forth, the scenery along the way is beautiful, quiet and pleasant. The hotel can enjoy all three hot springs. There are many people in tw.
The hotel has a beautiful environment, close to another attraction, Yanmeixi, and the location is very good. The hotel's dinner, supper and breakfast are also delicious. The hotel's hot spring facilities are also appropriate, and frozen desserts are also arranged for passengers who have soaked in the hot springs. Massage chairs are also arranged next to the hot springs, which is very intimate. Only the receptionist did not inform the hot spring that there is no towel, passengers need to use the towel in the room to the hot spring.
The hotel staff are very warm, polite and attentive. Very satisfied! The room I booked includes a semi-open-air bath, which is a great environment. The room was also cleaned very well. Breakfast and dinner were also very rich and delicious. Highly recommended!!!!

GGuest UserPerfect, I can only say perfect! It's affordable and excellent. These small, beautiful ski resorts in Japan are truly hidden gems. Their facilities are very well-maintained, and they offer shuttle services to Shimokura, Appi, and the train station. You can even get discounted Appi ski tickets if you buy them at the hotel. I can't praise this place enough!
AAnonymous UserThis hotel just opened, so it's very new and super close to the station. Plus, if you walk another 5 minutes, there's a 24-hour Aeon supermarket, which is incredibly convenient. They also have a free public bath and lounge open until 1 AM! It was so good that I booked another night for my return trip!
AAnonymous UserOverall, the hotel is great and perfect for those who want to focus on skiing. However, the hotel is a bit old and the soundproofing isn't the best. On the positive side, the staff are very friendly and happy to help with any issues. The facilities are also well-equipped and suitable for families, with many amenities and ski lesson packages for children.

GGuest UserI stayed in a moderate single room. It was beautifully renovated and very cute. It was directly connected to the station, so it was very convenient to be able to buy various souvenirs in the station building.
