The hotel itself is modern and well-kept, with a clean and stylish design. My room was spacious and comfortable, featuring contemporary furnishings and all the necessary amenities for a restful stay. The bed was particularly comfortable, and the room's soundproofing ensured a peaceful night's sleep despite the proximity to the airport. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay, although there were occasional language barriers. Nonetheless, they were always willing to assist and made an effort to accommodate my requests. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. One area where the hotel could improve is its dining options. While the breakfast buffet offered a decent variety of dishes, I found that the food could benefit from more freshness and variety, especially for those staying multiple nights. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was somewhat inconsistent, which might be a concern for business travelers needing reliable internet access. My partner and I came to Lhasa and after a lot of searching, we finally settled on this hotel. Upon checking in, it completely exceeded our expectations! Through the large glass windows, the Potala Palace was right there, incredibly stunning and breathtaking! My partner suffered severe altitude sickness, and the hotel even provided medical oxygen. The next day, I had a reservation to visit the Potala Palace, but my partner couldn't go due to the altitude sickness. It was also close to checkout time, but the hotel thoughtfully arranged another room for us and extended our checkout by two hours, allowing us to perfectly complete our Lhasa trip! The service at this hotel is excellent, and the location is fantastic. If I have the chance to come to Lhasa again, I will definitely book this hotel!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the front desk staff were very efficient with check-in. It's very close to Potala Palace, making it super convenient for getting around. All the staff were warm and welcoming, the room was clean and tidy, and the night view was fantastic. Guys, you can book this place with your eyes closed – I'd definitely come back if I have the chance!

I really loved the hotel's courtyard; its architecture has a very exotic feel. Sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon, leisurely sipping a pot of sweet tea, was incredibly relaxing. It's a rare oasis of peace and quiet amidst the bustling streets, perfect for unwinding. The rooftop cafe offers views of the Potala Palace, and guests can go up for free to visit and take photos. The hotel is conveniently located near the entrance of Barkhor Street. It's just a few minutes' walk to Liukai Fruit Store after a taxi ride. It was very convenient to explore Barkhor Street on foot every day. The ******* noodles for breakfast were delicious, and there was plenty of fruit. Afternoon tea also included a complimentary pot of sweet tea. The room came with a nasal oxygen concentrator, which was a thoughtful touch. My only minor complaint, personally, was that the room felt a bit small and the soundproofing wasn't great. Because of this, I didn't spend much time in the room other than sleeping, preferring to relax in the courtyard. Finally, a big thank you to Ms. Zhaxi Lam for her thoughtful and heartwarming service.

Overall, this hotel is quite good. Its location is very close to the Potala Palace, just a short walk away. It's also not far from Barkhor Street. Parking can be a bit challenging, requiring good driving skills. However, the security guard who directs parking is very nice. The service staff are quite enthusiastic. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and was the best hotel breakfast I had during my time in Tibet. I didn't experience the afternoon tea because we arrived at 7 PM. Free oxygen is available, and they even ask for your arrival time in advance and turn on the oxygen machine an hour or two before you get there. The rooms are equipped with a small tea table, which is convenient for tea drinking. In the hallway, there are various tea sets in a disinfected cabinet for guests to use. We also received some complimentary snacks in the room, which were quite good. I didn't get to experience the sleep aid package. All in all, if you're not driving in Lhasa and want to stay downtown, this hotel is a good choice.

This was my third stay at Thangka, and it has noticeably declined compared to my stays in 2018 and 2023. The main reason I chose it again was its proximity to Jokhang Temple. However, this time I experienced significant and continuous noise at night. The next morning, during breakfast, I realized the noise was coming from a machine in the 4th-floor restaurant or the self-service laundry area. I promptly checked out the next day and informed the front desk. The front desk attendant was very kind and assured me that she would report it immediately. I hope Thangka improves.

An old hotel with friendly service. The facilities are a little old, but it is clean and tidy. The price is not high. I stayed for three consecutive days and it is very cost-effective!

The bedding is soft, and toiletries are provided, ensuring a truly restful experience. The service deserves special praise! The staff are warm and attentive, reminding you of altitude sickness precautions in advance, proactively helping with luggage, providing oxygen equipment, and always available when needed. They are incredibly attentive and considerate, like family. Finding such a thoughtful hotel in such a place is such a delightful surprise! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mount Kailash – a perfect stay!

The room facilities were quite good, but the service attitude was very poor, which significantly lowered the overall experience. Pros: The room facilities were relatively new, with a desk and office chair, a small sofa, and convenient amenities like a microwave. Aside from a tear in the carpet, the cleanliness was acceptable. The breakfast offered a good variety, though it was quite crowded. Cons: While one can't expect too much service at this price point and positioning, it's arguably the worst service in its class! Even budget-friendly chains like HUAZHU (Huazhu Group) feel lightyears ahead. Several points of dissatisfaction: Upon check-in, there was a queue, and three people behind the counter seemed to be struggling with something. I waited behind them for a while, and no one acknowledged a new guest had arrived or came over to help. After a long time, I saw someone move to the side, so I approached. Still, no one asked if I was checking in. I walked over and asked if the previous guest was finished, and only then, after being given a look that said 'What are you doing here?', did they start processing my check-in. After taking my ID, they immediately moved to a separate counter (a clearly distinct spot) without telling me to move there. I had to awkwardly move myself. They only provided basic breakfast times for my check-in information and didn't mention anything about the complimentary drinks included in my reservation, which I didn't need anyway so I didn't ask later. The window of my room faced a fence with cigarette butts and other trash scattered below. It was arguably worse than the interior of the room, but it was a basic room type, and a view wasn't a selling point, so I didn't pay too much attention. During check-out, after returning the room card, it took a moment to confirm. No one said 'please wait' or anything, so I just awkwardly stood there. As I left, I said 'thank you,' and was ignored without even a glance. It's clear that the staff here has almost no service awareness. Perhaps this hotel is very confident in its hardware and brand power and isn't too concerned about customer feelings and feedback. However, as a traveler, especially as the last hotel on a self-driving trip along the Sichuan-Tibet highway, it was very disappointing. Almost every other hotel on this trip, expensive or cheap, despite some flaws, had a far better service attitude than this one.

This was the only hotel on Sichuan-Tibet Highway 318 with underfloor heating, which kept the room incredibly warm – no need for AC! The room was spacious and very clean, making for a super comfortable stay. We even got a free upgrade to a room with a fantastic view of the snow-capped mountains right outside the window. They provide scheduled oxygen supply at night, and I didn't experience any altitude sickness. Highly recommend this hotel!
