5-Star Hotels in Azores, Portugal

A great resort on the North Coast of Azores. The trail along the coast from the hotel is very nice. There are a few restaurants around and the hotel has good breakfast and a restaurant on site opening for lunch and dinner. Good for family, the hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They can help you book tours and call taxis.

This newly opened boutique hotel is located just one block from the city center and the beach, within easy walking distance. The environment is beautiful, and the pool and sauna are fantastic. Breakfast is a must-try; it's a real treat. The bedding is very comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious with good water pressure. Rooms facing the street can be noisy in the mornings, so if possible, book a room on the inside. The staff are professional and friendly, and the chocolate cookies at the front desk are delicious; I bought the same ones at the supermarket to take home.

Very satisfied. The only five-star hotel on the island. The sea view room is amazing. What you see is the view of the bay. There are many boats. The rooms are clean and hygienic. The service staff are kind and polite. The breakfast is not expensive and very good.

Facilities: While a bit lacking for a five-star hotel, it's still quite good on the island. The good news is that the room rate includes free spa access. The bad news is that it's quite small, with just two massage points and two small saunas: one dry and one wet. If the hotel name didn't include ”spa,” it would be a pleasant surprise, but for a spa hotel, it's a bit overrated. The window in our room had a crack running from top to bottom. The hotel sent an apology letter and offered complimentary wine. I assumed it was a sudden, emergency fix, as the rooms were full and there were no extra rooms available, which I thought was quite sincere. However, after reading other guests' reviews from six months ago, I realized the window had been broken long before. I'm speechless. Why didn't they fix it so long? Service: The staff were excellent, and the quality was expected of a five-star hotel.

Good service, warm staff, breakfast is OK, the hotel is next to the pier, facing the Atlantic Ocean, the location is excellent, in the city center, convenient to eat. The downside is that parking is charged, 12 euros per night. The hotel has waiter parking and a good attitude.

Excelente localização, empreendimento reúne todas as condições para ser o melhor da ilha, contudo parece estar em contenção severa de recursos. A limpeza não abona nos quartos, é notório que fazem limpezas superficiais, quarto espaço no entanto o mini bar nada tem, produtos de higiene parecem misturados com água para render, os pequenos almoços são muito fracos, poucas opções, pouco cuidado, fraca qualidade, pouca comida. A piscina é de água gelada e o jacuzzi não é convidativo… hotel 5 estrelas que não deveria ter mais que 3 pelos serviços prestados, lamentável!

A truly wonderful hotel. With only 9 rooms, the staff focuses on making every guest experience exceptional. The location is great, central enough to explore the Island and come back too every day. While the view from, and upon exiting, your room will take your breath away every single time. All of the accommodations are top notch, the bed was supremely comfortable and even the linens and towels had a plush feeling. Breakfast options can be slightly redundant but the quality and freshness of the ingredients, along homemade jam and juice, as well as a flexibility to switch things up on the menu, more than make up for it. We the hotel restaurant is excellent for dinner as well. So much so that we ended up defaulting to it more than once during our stay. We also appreciated small details like the phone they provided upon check-in that followed us everywhere on the island for spur of the moment suggestions and reservations through the hotel! All in all, highly recommended, my wife and I know we’ll be back!

When I first stepped onto the grounds of Sensi, I could feel the tranquility in the very air. What a special place this is. I spent a weekend here, enchanted by the beautifully designed environment, the stunning sea views and the warm welcome by Teresa, Miguel and all the staff. I made the decision to return for two weeks. I came here for a respite, weary from three years of a nomadic lifestyle. What I found was the fine art of relaxation in a venue providing refined ease and grace. Every aspect of my being was nourished by this experience. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Try the pineapple pie! The breakfast is a feast. I felt cared for by the lovely staff. My room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and, oh my, the shower had a view of the ocean! I spent hours on my veranda, reading, watching the sun on the water, delighted to see dolphins a couple of times. The swing was a treat, and my personal pool was perfect for floating or a soak. Teresa kindly lent me a yoga mat and soft cushion for meditation. There is also an indoor heated salt water pool. My skin felt caressed daily with a swim. Everyone should experience this bliss! I thought I would have a massage or two while there. A suggestion from Miguel led to a custom package of massages, sound healings and water therapy. Best decision ever! As each day progressed, layer upon layer of my being relaxed. These massages were better than any I have ever experienced. Ayurvedic, hot stone, fleur de sel, head massage, reflexology, Tibetan bowls in the pool, underwater flowing movement....there were so many different sensations to experience. Nuno’s expertise, his gift, guided my relaxation to the next level: rejuvenation. My skin glowed, hair shone, body softened, smile widened....the effect of all this nourishing attention. What I could feel throughout my stay was the love poured into Sensi. Everything is so well thought out, life feels effortless. I am filled with gratitude for the warm embrace from the Sensi family. I look forward to returning.
