A very rustic, traditional, homey guest house. No en suite bathroom but shared ones are super clean AND there is an indoor onsen!! The room was very warm and cozy, food ( must be ordered in advance) was amazing. The owners are extremely warm and friendly - gave us great recommendations and made us feel so at home. You are able to rent hiking here for a very low price. Location is very central, close to Miyanoura port, restaurants, and amenities. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly highly recommend :)

Very friendly and kind hosts! They drove us to the bus stop and made vegan cake for us. The onsen is also very beautiful and the rooms were perfect for our stay. If you come to Yakushima, you should definitely stay there! Supermarket is only 5 min away by foot.

Very close to Kagoshima Chuo, cozy, everything is there. A towel costs 100 yen, bunk beds; closed with a curtain, has its own kitchen, dining area. Bath and shower are normal. I really liked the location, the staff. Everything is great for unpretentious tourists. Good luck!

The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Tenmonkan. The ground floor features a lobby, and a restaurant further inside, which seemed very popular with locals in the evenings. If I revisit Kagoshima, I'd definitely like to try their food. My room was on the 5th floor and I appreciated how spacious it was. I found the flyers for local events posted in the elevator very useful; thanks to them, I even got to see a signed Shohei Ohtani ball! :)

Easy to check in and nice staff. This place has hostel/airbnb/surf shack vibes. It was not super clean but it was not terrible. I booked for one person but trip.com/booking.com booked me for the maximum occupancy (4), so it was more expensive than it should have been. Also, I selected pay at site and used my credit card as a guarantee. This Hotel is cash only, which I paid; however, I haven’t been reimbursed my guarantee from the website. So, I’ve effectively paid eight times what should have as of now. These bookings sites are always trying to scam customers, so I’m sure I’ll have to submit a claim with my credit card. That’s no fault of the hotel though.

I finally got to stay in a deluxe double-bedroom apartment in Japan! Compared to other hotels, it was more like an apartment, with kitchenware and separate toilet and washroom areas. The owner even gave me a bottle of mineral water, something other hotels don't offer. I arrived at Kagoshima Airport around 9 PM, long after public transportation had stopped. I had asked the hotel beforehand if there were still taxis at the airport at that time; a taxi ride to the hotel would cost about 2500-2600 yen. This area is only suitable for transit; it's quite remote. It seems the only direct bus to the airport is in the morning, but I couldn't get up early enough. Other buses take one or two hours, or even only run every two or three hours, and I didn't quite figure it out. There were no taxis on the streets; to find one, you had to ask the shopkeeper to book one for you or call a taxi company. The only nearby attraction was Kagoshima Shrine, but I took the bus to the entrance only to find I was running late for the airport shuttle, so I had to give up. The airport shuttle only accepts old yen if you don't have exact change. In short, transportation was difficult, but thankfully there was a convenience store nearby. If the boss sees this review, please fix the shed on the first floor. It's too noisy when it rains at night, and the raindrops hitting the shed are making it hard to sleep.

Great place. There is a nice cafe on the second floor. The sand springs are nearby. The room is tiny but cozy. There is a bathtub. It’s a classical Japanese styled room. There is water in the fridge. Also, if you need to buy something, there is a drug store nearby. If you decide whether to stay there or not hope it helps. The only disadvantage is that you need to walk around 20 min from the station.

It was a single building. It was good that the whole was clean, the room was large, the heating was effective, and the kitchen equipment was all available. However, tap water cannot be drunk. The bath in the room is prohibited. It was inconvenient that hot water did not come out. Also, one of the window sash in the bedroom tatami room was not well set up and the key was not locked. In addition, I was honestly scared that there was no curtain in the kitchen and I could see it completely from the outside (mountain side) at night. And Wi-Fi was not connected. The hot springs are used by campsites and people who stop by, and are crowded depending on the time of day such as in the evening. The amount of hot water in the shower is small and it takes time to flush the bubbles. The place from the accommodation to the hot spring is far away, and it is a steep slope, and the road is 々 hole, uneven, and bad scaffolding! It was very inconvenient to move to the hot spring because I couldn't walk. 3 I thought that 6 1000 yen was a good deal for one person staying with a person, but I think it was a price.
