Cozy Sea View Inn
4.2/58 Reviews
I stayed few times at this hotel of which one time 2 months. It is central and close to everything. The rooms are very comfortable and there is also a communal kitchenette. The owner gave me access to the gym for free which was ofcourse a great service. I had room number one which gave me full view to the ocean as well as the backside village which I really enjoyed. I highly recommend this place
Jagabay Resort & Surfing School

This hotel is right on the beach & has a nice swimmingpool. Location was fab, quiet part of the beach, short walk into Weligama & a short tuktukride away from Mirissa. The buildings look shabby and not well maintained but room was nice enough. It was a small chalet overlooking the pool with your own terrace. Fridge in the room including drinks for a fair price and complimentary bottle of water. Electric kettle but lack of electronic sockets, I ended up charging my phone on the terrace. Bathroom needs an update/some paint but nice shower including hot water. AC/fan/working wifi and mosquito nets. If they invest in it this place could look really good. Hotel was fairly quiet when I was there. I heard they do lots of package deals with Germans/Russians, menu was listed in German too (only time I've seen this in Sri Lanka). Food was average but OK. Lots of dogs and cats on the grounds they sleep everywhere but none of them bothered me, they must get food from the hotel. Laundry was very expensive (5k) but the room was really cheap, was referred by locals who negotiated for me. In the room next to me were drivers who got an even better price! There was a great spot for drinks/rotis on the beach a few mins away in direction of Weligama. Few surfschools just on the beach. Would stay again, good value for money but would check how busy it is. Staff was friendly, only reception did not speak English very well. Tuktuk drivers outside ask way too much, start with 50% of what they ask...
Green Villa Unawatuna
4.4/57 Reviews
Wonderful place with a lush garden in Unawatuna area in the main tourist road. They let us for an early checkin so we didn’t have to wait in the lobby area. Room was spacious with modern furniture and included a minibar. Air conditioner worked perfectly. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was spacious. Hot water worked perfectly. Modern fixtures too. Green villa was close to all the main attractions. Highly recommended for a calm, quiet, comfortable stay in Unawatuna area.
Fort Bliss

A good hotel with a score of 5 and a score of 5! The boss is very warm and very attentive. Let us take a look at the room, tell us about the use and precautions of the facility, and then ask what we like to eat the next day's breakfast and when to eat. The rooms are antique, well equipped and quite interesting. Book two rooms, one on the first floor is a double room, one on the second floor, a big bed room, in short, very satisfied with the room. The next day at breakfast, the boss and the waiter often came over and asked if they could eat well and add something. In fact, breakfast should be very good in the hotels that have been eaten! First, a plate of local fruit platters, including pineapple, banana, watermelon, papaya, mango, etc., a cup of fresh juice, then served the toasted bread and delicious jam and butter. Then, come up with staple food, roast eggs, sausage and onion. The whole hotel, the room is not much, but very warm. On the doorway corridor, sitting on the sofa, you can enjoy the waves of the Indian Ocean's blue Indian Ocean. You can blow the wind from the sea and enjoy the romantic Indian Ocean sunset. On the edge is the castle's sea defense wall, and the outside is the vast Indian Ocean! It’s very convenient to go out and stroll around to find food. Going out to the left is the famous lighthouse. A short walk is a flag rock. Many tourists will come here to enjoy the beauty of the sea and the local guys jumping from the high cliffs to the sea. Going to the right is better. Enjoy the beauty of the setting sun and the core area of Haiphong. On the edge is a seafood-based restaurant called Huang Shang Huang Seafood Restaurant, the owner is a young man from Jiangsu. The surrounding environment is quiet and safe. Overall, this is a hotel worth recommending to everyone! Don't look at the exterior, be sure to check into the hotel.

My Fiancé and I stayed here for one night and we Loved it. It's run by a lovely Local Couple and has a very home stay Vibe, but still gives you the privacy of a Guesthouse. The terrace is great to work on the Laptop or chill with beautiful view and fast Internet. The Food is much cheaper then at the Beach and Delicious. 10/10 points
Lavender Home Rest

Lovely place with an amazing view. The lady who received me was so sweet and nice. They made me dinner and breakfast and it was all delicious. Very clean place and attentive staff. I would recommend! I also loved that they have water dispenser to fill my tumbler so I did not need to buy plastic bottled water. This I really appreciate. No complaints, great place and wish them the best.
Central Beach Inn
3.8/58 Reviews
Central Beach Inn has a bunch of different room types at different price points. We stayed in the deluxe balcony with AC. Overall the room was ok and a decent size. My friend had issues with the bathroom door since it is very short and he is 6’1” (he hit his head several times). The room has a sort of colonial romantic feel with dark wood furniture and a four-poster bed with white mosquito netting. Standard amenities – WiFi, safe, small fridge, overhead fan, mini bar (electric kettle and coffee/tea), and toiletries. The steps to the balcony were very steep with a higher than normal rise and were shared with one other unit. A basin with water was on the landing for the stairs so that you could wash off sand from your feet. A gate was at base of the stairs. Breakfast was not included, and we did not eat at the restaurant. We did not have the room serviced while there by choice, but I think you have to ask if you want it cleaned. Comparison time: We stayed at two places in Mirissa Beach – Central Beach and Dream Palace. The two hotels are back-to-back with Central taking the beachfront and Dream Palace taking the street front. They both have their pros and cons. The rooms were significantly nicer and cleaner at Dream Palace, but I liked mattress better at Central as it was a little less hard. Both places had the same room amenities. You hear the music from the beach nightclubs at Central whereas you get the early morning beeping and bread-tuk tuk music from the street at Dream Palace (although the rear rooms are much quieter). Central is beach front and Dream Palace means that you walk through another hotel, for which the gates may all be locked after 1:00 am (be warned!). You will have to climb stairs at Dream Palace, but you can get a ground level room at Central. The service was significantly better and much more friendly at Dream Palace (family run) compared to the more business feel of Central. Central has a full restaurant and Dream Palace does not. The WiFi was somewhat stronger at Central and allowed for internet phone calls. Dream Palace is more budget friendly since it is not beachfront. As for Mirissa Beach itself, the beach is beautiful! The waves are very large and consistently frequent which means they may not be good for children or those who do not like to get batted around by waves. However, there is an area at the end of the beach by Parrot Rock with very gentle small waves that is good for kids. The beach is very busy all of the time and people come here for the nightlife. At least one restaurant a night turns into a club with a dj (until 3 or 4 am). At one end of the beach, they will put out these lit up frames that kind of look like giant eggbeaters out front of the bar that will be the club that night. They also have live music earlier in the evening at some of the other places. Mirissa Beach is a good central location on the south shore to make quick trips to Weligama (surfing) and Matara (city), and longer trips to Unawatuna
The Bartizan Galle Fort
4.4/543 Reviews
The Bartizan Hotel is ideally situated within the historic Galle Fort in Sri Lanka, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its prime location provides easy access to the fort's ramparts and Pedlar Street, which is just around the corner. This makes it convenient for guests to explore the charming streets and cultural attractions of Galle Fort. The rooms at The Bartizan Hotel offer a pleasing blend of modern comfort and historic charm. Each room is tastefully decorated, featuring elegant furnishings and thoughtful details that reflect the rich history of Galle. We stayed in a suite with a private balcony overlooking the ocean, providing a serene and picturesque setting. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. However, the air conditioner struggled to keep the room cool during the warm nights. The hotel does not have a traditional restaurant, but a courtyard area with café tables serviced by a competent team in the kitchen. The food offers a delightful dining experience with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Despite the lack of a formal restaurant, the culinary offerings were impressive and thoroughly enjoyable. The service at The Bartizan Hotel is wonderful. The staff are warm, friendly, and go out of their way to ensure that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. From personalized recommendations for local attractions to thoughtful touches throughout our stay, the level of hospitality was outstanding. The Bartizan Hotel offers a unique and memorable experience in the heart of Galle Fort. The combination of its historic charm, luxurious accommodations, and outstanding service makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting Galle. Highly recommended for a truly special stay in a remarkable location.

This was a beautiful hotel. The location is great because it is inside the Galle Fort. The staff was very friendly and the room was nice. There was air conditioning and a fan. The shower drain was a bit slow which caused the water to overflow a little. We only stayed here one night, but overall a lovely stay. Highly recommend.
