Nostalgia Hotel (Beijing Guozijian Gui Street Store)

East Second Ring Workers' Stadium Area
Not bad place to stay for a day or two. Has everything you need. Air conditioner was a bit old therefore made weird noises, but still worked fine. Funny part, when I was booking a room it was emphasized that there’s a window, but room was on B1, so window is tiny, and even during the day there’s no really sunlight coming through it😀 Overall I can recommend this place.
Home Inn (Beijing Dongzhimen Metro Airport Express Railway Station)

The hotel location is good for subway connection for PEK Airport and Gubei Watertown bus station, esp you don't need to take subway during morning rush hour, just less than 10min walking distance. The superior room size is just nice for 2 persons with luggages put on the floor. Currently no buffet breakfast as the restaurant is doing reno. Take subway exit C at Dongzhimen Station and walk about 500m to the hotel. The hotel near Ginza Mall, we had lunch and dinner at 1star Michelin Chinese restaurant Cui Hua Lou, nice food with reasonable price. To visit Forbidden City, need to book in advance, if not, not allowed to purchase ticket on the same day. Send email to bookingticket@dpm.org.cn to make reservation then collect ticket later. To visit many attractions and take subway, need to show passport for verification. Do not bring spray sanitizer bottle, not allowed for security reason.

Tian'Anmen Square and Wangfujing Area
The hotel is very close to Tiananmen Square! It is suitable for watching the flag-raising ceremony. The location is really good! You can also go to Wangfujing for dinner and shopping at night. However, the facilities are a bit old. They are not smart bathrooms. The decoration is not good in terms of hygiene, but it is okay to live in! It is mainly in the same location! The price is still very good! Super cost-effective
Ibis Hotel (Beijing Chaoyang Joy City)

Guomao Area
Concerning the Hotel and its services, I give it 5/5 as it is very calm, clean and comfortable, there is some shops nearby but not many. The location is a bit far from the center, as we need 1h to go to some places via Taxi/DiDi during peak times.
Aite Xinsu Culture Hotel (Qianmen Branch)

Qianmen (Front Gate) and Chongwenmen Commercial Area
The hotel is located next to the subway station and close to Beijing West Railway Station. I came to Beijing to see the snow. I saw that their room with a balcony was quickly decided. After I checked in, I immediately stayed for one night. Later, I verified how wise my decision was. It is more troublesome to take a taxi in Beijing after the snow, and we are mainly traveling by subway. There are many restaurants near the hotel, many types, and some net red shops, very close to the bayberry bamboo alley. Then the room is relatively new and the facilities are complete and convenient. There is also floor heating. Sleeping at night is quiet and warm. The most important thing about citywalk is rest. The young lady at the front desk is attentive. Miss Banxia provides us with a lot of help when we go out. We also stuffed us with small snacks. It was a good stay.
Beijing Momentos B&B

Huairou Scenic Area
My wife and I had a really wonderful stay at Momentos, the room was really well designed and comfortable, the location was lovely, tucked away in the Huai Rou mountain valley with a local village nearby that you can walk through to the Xiang Shui Hu scenic area to visit a section of the Great Wall. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with both Asian and Western options, their coffee was great, definitely a nice perk for anyone who enjoys a nice barista coffee in the morning. We had dinner at the B&B as well, it is 88RMB per person with a set menu created on the day with locally produce which was really delicious and the home cooked flavour was wonderful. For anyone looking to take a quick trip into Huai Rou, this spot is truly a gem and highly recommended if you are looking for something that is a bit remote with all the comfortable amenities you would hope to get in a nice boutique style hotel. Also if you are feeling adventurous, you can also visit the nearby Yun Ling village, when you get to the top of the village, there is also a path you can take that leads you to a section of the Great Wall that is a relic to see, you can't climb or access it unfortunately since it is overgrown with vegetation and the structure has literally crumbling over time, it is still really impressive to see up close though and the hike up was quite beautiful too through the rolling hills, part of the path is paved and easy to access, there are sections of the hike where there is a running stream of water you have to cross, so keep that in mind when your shoes could get really wet.

Beijing Wtown
The location is within Gubei Watertown. Although there’s a shuttle service going to the center, you have to walk all the way through the hotel itself. It’s quite near the Simatai Great Wall and the Dancing Fountain. The hotel has the Japanese themed touch in its rooms. Plus, the complimentary items are so nice. Although at first, I didn’t expect that there is a preauthorization fee for booking? Which means, you book the hotel room (exact amount of the room) and you pay for another same amount in the hotel which is like a deposit. You get refunded after your stay. So, better bring extra cash! Surprisingly, among all the hotels we’ve stayed in Gubei, this by far is my favorite. It’s like a hidden gem ✔️ to mention, it has a mini hot spring in your very own room. It saved us thousands 💴 rather than going to the Hot spring uphill and pay, this is far better! You have privacy, and you can use it unli times. The water is hot and is really good during winter (i will definitely come back on winter days) Though it’s a lil bit far, but it is surrounded with nice Cafes, a convenience store, restaurants, bars, bowling and billiards and near main attractions. If you want a place to stay that is far from crowded areas yet you have everything in the vicinity, then this is the place for you. I do not like it when there’s too many people so this suited us well. Oh, and the way/path going there is beautiful. It’s another side of Gubei that you will love to see! ❤️ I wish I found this before. This is my 3rd time to visit and this gives me more reason to come back next time.

Enjoyed our second night in this beautiful place. We stayed in another room than where we stayed the first night and it was even prettier and cozier. Since it was past the Christmas, they took off the previous decorations and set up another floral decorations which was beautiful. We tried the Chinese noodle soup for breakfast and it was flavorful. Will definitely stay here again if ever visit Beijing again 💜

We visited this hostel during the May holiday in 2021 and found it whilst looking for somewhere to get away to during the busy weekend. Thankfully it did not disappoint! Location: Located a valley away from Mutianyu Great Wall, the location of this place is fantastic. You can walk through the tees and mountains all the way up to the Great Wall, it takes about 1 hour and is not a difficult climb. The surrounding area is remote but has a few amenities, such as a few hotels and activities you can do. You can also see parts of unkempt Great Wall on the mountain tops, which is incredible. Room: The room was lovely and clean with a huge bath and an electronic toilet (quite the experience!). Inside the room there toiletries, tea & coffee, and some fresh fruit. The bed was large and soft, and the room had effective air conditioning. Facilities: The hotel’s grounds are on the side of a mountain with a few different levels. There is a playground for kids, an outdoor infinity pool and plenty of places to sit. The bottom level has an all-day restaurant with drinks and food available. Staff: The staff were super helpful and friendly, we were checked in promptly and even shown the exact place to follow the trail up to the Great Wall. The waiting staff were also really friendly. Food: We had an evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast the next day. The food in the evening was seriously good, a great selection of dishes, with some local dishes available as well. Also, cold beer! Always a plus. The breakfast was pretty good but a little cold when it came out, we chose to have the western breakfast. The coffee was very good. Overall, we had a lovely stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a trip out of the city. The owner also speaks some English which is awesome!
