3-Star Hotels in County Waterford, Ireland

We had an excellent 3 night stay in Dooleys. Our Double Room was in very good condition, spotlessly clean & tidy, the staff were welcoming, friendly & helpful. The Hotel is in an excellent location on the Waterfront a few minutes walk from the Museums, opposite the Bus Station, walking distance from the railway station across the bridge, close to the cycle hire and at the start/end of the Waterford - Dungarvan Green Cycle way. The Hotel has both an alacarte restaurant and great bar menu, is walking distance from several other good restaurants and the shopping centre. Live Irish Music is played in the Bar in the evenings - all in all we had a great experience at Dooleys

Stayed for 2 night on a b&b and evening meal package, room very very small to the stage it felt suffocating with myself a teenager and a 5 year old. Rooms are very dated and I don't know if it's just the room I got (room 122) or all of them but there was literally no wardrobe space or anywhere to store clothing or cases! The bathroom was OK definitely on the smaller side and the stopper didn't stop the water from leaving the bath even with it in the water was running down the drain! Daughter attended the kids club and had a great time in it she kept asking to go back. Food overall was gorgeous had dinner in restaurant on first night was 10/10, staff were brilliant and food was out very fast.It's a shame I can't say the same about night 2 we opted for food in the bar area I spent from 7.32 until 7.58 waiting to order food with the barmen serving in no order at all it seemed they took food/ drink orders from who they felt like, leaving myself another man and a woman waiting for over 30 minutes to be served I ended up going to reception and asking the girl was there someone I can order from she promptly went into the bar and spoke to one of the barmen who took my order approx 5 mins after she went into him. Service in the bar seemed to be all over the place on both nights the barmen kept apologising about the delay yet he was wondering around like a headless chicken doing everything yet doing nothing! Again the food was lovely cleared plates all around just the service was absolutely shocking it would put me off going to the bar there again.

Had a 2 night stay , buffet breakfast good selection only issue i had and it might seem petty but i would have liked a pot of tea served to table rather than from machine, dinner on Saturday was really good, staff lovely very friendly, music in the bar Saturday night which was nice gave a bit of atmosphere, rooms could do with an upgrade but we enjoyed our stay.
