This hotel was my base for a trip to Nanjing. First, the good points: it’s relatively inexpensive, in a great location, and the service is good. It’s convenient for attractions like the Confucius Temple and the subway station, and Old East Gate is just a 500-meter walk away.
Now for the downsides: firstly, there’s no elevator, which would be a real struggle if you have large luggage or are elderly. Secondly, the room facilities are quite old, the soundproofing isn't great, and there isn't much space to put your belongings. The smart toilet isn't all that smart, either. 😂
Housekeeping was quite diligent, but I'm not sure why they took my toothbrush and toothpaste from the cup – I didn't even leave them on the table!
Overall, if you prioritize value for money and location, this place is pretty good.

I stayed for two consecutive days. Before checking out, I deliberately took a picture of the entrance. For someone who easily gets lost, recognizing the sign in front of the door is very important.
I checked in with my elderly family members, and they spontaneously praised the owner, especially the sensible younger brother. Harmony brings wealth, and may your business flourish!

Facilities: Generally, the shower is bad, half of the water is out of the cockroach
Hygienic: Generally, the toilet door is facing the bed, and there is a big smell. It is obviously not cleaned up, but the better thing is that when I checked in the next day, I found that the room had been cleaned up and the smell was much smaller, but I didn’t tell me before I cleaned up.
Environment: The environment is good, the windows are large, although it is broken and cannot be opened, the corridors belonging to the gray space are very dark, there is no light, all rely on moonlight and the lights on the other end, it is scary to walk at night, the water is not cleaned in time, the laundry room is very dim, and the facilities are relatively old.
Service: Great, the attitude of the service staff is very good, but a bit too good, so that someone in my circle has been crying in the middle of the night like **, the hotel staff said that it was dissuaded but the guest did not listen, so she let her disturb our circle of guests sleep, We came to the store to rest, not to the adventure, this matter had other solutions, but she let her cry all night, resulting in our circle of guests not sleeping all night

The front desk staff were very welcoming; they let me choose my own room during check-in and also granted a late check-out when I left. The hotel's location is perfect, right by Lao Dong Men, with plenty of food and shopping options nearby – I was very satisfied. My only minor complaint is a slight sewage smell in the bathroom.

Pros:
1. The entire place is smart-enabled, from the curtains and lighting to the toilet and mirror. Everything is automated, and the facilities are very clean.
2. What impressed me most was that the hairdryer here didn't feel cheap at all.
3. Although the space isn't as large as a typical hotel room, I found it perfectly suited for one person, and it would also feel cozy for two. It has a refined ambiance, which is quite rare.
4. This accommodation also provides shoe-shine cloths. The washing machine is great too, and comes with a dryer.
5. It's very close to all the nearby attractions, so you won't spend much on taxis. You can basically walk or take the subway.
6. The mattress and duvet are incredibly comfortable! I slept very well!
In every aspect, I feel it rivals hotels priced around 200 (the space might be a drawback, but for those who love a cozy feel, it's an excellent choice).
7. The milk tea and fruit juice at the front desk are delicious! Definitely worth trying. The hotel's fragrance isn't a cheap one; it's pleasant and not overpowering.
8. It's also worth mentioning their shampoo and toiletries; they left my hair feeling smooth, not frizzy. While not big brands, for a hotel, they're quite good.
Cons:
1. ”No disposable bath towels”: Even though it's newly opened and the room is thoughtfully decorated with some small amenities (shoe-shine cloths, disposable toilet seat covers), the cost of disposable bath towels in bulk should be very low. Perhaps the owner considered the cost (or didn't want to use cheap disposable bath towels), but I think for someone who is a bit of a clean freak, this is quite important. After all, even if the towels provided by the hotel are disinfected, if the previous guest used them to wipe their feet or bottom, I'd still be hesitant to use them on my face. Disposable bath towels would solve this problem perfectly.
2. The washing machine and dryer should be clearly labeled (though perhaps I just didn't notice). Initially, I couldn't tell the difference between them, and only figured it out after looking at the buttons.
3. I once stayed at a chain hotel where the cleaning staff noticed I had a mouse, and when I returned to my room, they had placed a mouse pad for me. However, LBED didn't provide this. If this hotel's service were a bit more attentive, it might be even more popular.
I sincerely wish the owner of this hotel a thriving business. I will definitely book this hotel again if I visit the area in the future.

The hotel's location is a bit small, and parking can be a hassle, though the staff did help guide us. Now for the complaints: First, there's absolutely no artificial greenery or landscaping as advertised. The subway construction outside is very loud, and the soundproofing in the room is terrible! Also, the 'afternoon tea' is just some tea bags for you to brew yourself – no cakes or anything like that. The room key card next to it shows how tiny it all is. Honestly, they shouldn't even bother offering it!

This hotel is conveniently located near Suzhou North Temple Pagoda, with many attractions nearby. The Metro Line 4 right at the entrance makes getting to sights very easy. The hotel itself has a great design, with spacious and clean rooms. It's equipped with all the modern amenities you'd expect, including a smart toilet. The front desk staff are helpful and gave good recommendations for food and activities. Overall, a fantastic experience.

Choosing this hotel for our family trip was such a smart decision! Its location near the attractions made traveling with kids incredibly convenient. The room was spacious enough to easily fit a stroller, and the bedding was so comfortable and light, our child slept soundly. The cleanliness was impeccable; not a speck of dust even in the corners, and the anti-slip features in the bathroom were a thoughtful touch. The staff were very friendly and proactively helped us get a quiet room. The hotel's soundproofing is excellent, making for a wonderfully peaceful night. Overall, the experience was fantastic and I'd highly recommend it to all families.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with a bus stop right outside. It's super easy to get to major attractions like Huishan Old Town and Nanchang Street. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. Even though it's on a busy street, the soundproofing in the room is excellent; you barely hear any street noise. The room itself is very spacious, perfect for two people, and the cleanliness is top-notch. The bedding is great too, not too soft. The housekeeping staff are incredibly warm and always happy to help. Both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. On our first day, we arrived in Wuxi quite late, and the hotel staff thoughtfully called ahead to confirm our arrival. If we ever come back to Wuxi, we'll definitely choose this hotel again.

HHan - JunThe hotel is new and very clean. The front desk staff are friendly and always willing to help, even though I’m a foreign traveler.
The location is truly excellent. The hotel is right in the Pingjiang Road area—one of the most beautiful and famous ancient streets in Suzhou. Just step outside and you can enjoy a relaxing walk along the canals, admire traditional houses, and explore charming cafés and small local shops. It’s also about 3 km from Shantang Road, around a 15-minute taxi ride.
At night, the area lights up beautifully, creating a very charming atmosphere.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

CChifanpeiyinliaoThis hotel is definitely a great place to walk your kids! The ecology is very good! We even saw a hare! But maybe it’s because it’s outdoors! It seems like the door to the candy room is a little broken! Not so easy to close! Then the electric cars in the park require money to use but they are too slow! And the cost is a bit high!
The service attitude at the front desk is very good! Very eager to help!
The road to the swimming pool is not easy to walk! Must be very careful! It's easy to fall! The locker room environment needs cleaning!
The interior of the room is clean and acceptable!

GGuest UserThis stay was incredibly satisfying, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Suzhou.
1. **Excellent Location**: The hotel is right inside Pingjiang Road Pedestrian Street. Stepping out, you're greeted by charming canals, quaint bridges, and unique shops. It's incredibly convenient for dining, drinking, and sightseeing. The best surprise was its proximity to Humble Administrator's Garden, easily reachable on foot, which saved a lot of time and transportation costs for us tourists.
2. **Attentive Service**: The front desk staff were polite and enthusiastic. Whether it was during check-in, inquiries, or check-out, their attitude was consistently great. They patiently explained things when we had questions, and the service felt thorough, making us feel right at home.
3. **Clean and Modern Facilities**: The room was very clean, which made for a reassuring stay. The facilities exceeded expectations, with smart toilets and a coffee machine, significantly enhancing comfort and convenience. The attention to detail was impressive.

HHuanxiziyoufeixiangThe location is incredibly convenient. Nanchang Temple is right outside, and you can take a leisurely stroll along the water's edge all the way to Nanchang Street, enjoy some delicious food, and then bike back to the hotel. It was my first time in Wuxi, and the beauty of the Jiangnan water town, its architecture, and gardens are truly nourishing for the soul.
GGuest UserThe room was spotless, with every corner thoroughly cleaned, and all amenities provided. The environment was quiet and peaceful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The service was attentive and warm, and the location was excellent, making getting around super convenient. Overall, I was extremely satisfied and it definitely deserves five stars! The front desk lady was also very kind.
RruimilkThe room was spacious and very clean, and the staff were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. The hotel's location is super convenient, right next to Deji Plaza, with plenty of other malls nearby and even a popular Korean restaurant just around the corner.
HHalf Gwailo ABCOverall an enjoyable and relaxing one night stay at this tiny cosy hotel in Zhouzhuang, for our final leg of our 6 days Suzhou trip. We took a didi over to Zhouzhuang, which was faster and cheaper than I expected, just a little over half an hour.
The hotel staff called me the day before to arrange for pick-up near the watertown ticket office. Actually I can't speak Mandarin and their English wasn't too good but we ended up chatting on Wechat as Wechat has a built-in translate function in their chat.
So, 15 minutes before we arrive, we just had to let them know on Wechat. And the staff is already waiting for us, helped us with the luggage and guided us through the ticket buying process.
You do have to pay for the ¥100 RMB ticket to get into the watertown and the ticket is good for 3 days. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance.
I picked this hotel because it was right inside the watertown and it had the ancient Chinese interior, although all the amenities are modern, including a robust and high-tech Kohler smart toilets in each bathroom.
There is a nice coffee shop inside the hotel and the coffee shop owner is friendly and takes his coffee craft seriously. The hotel gives you 2 free drinks during your stay and the coffee menu is quite extensive. If the hotel rooms are not booked on that day, we are told the hotel opens their doors to coffee customers.
The hotel owner is actually younger than I expected so I am impressed she meticulously created this authentic experience and the attention to detail. She was friendly and helpful and was open to accommodating our needs.
We booked the entire 2nd floor, which was 3 bedrooms and we had 6 adults in our group. This tiny hotel only has 3 bedrooms so if you booked all 3 rooms, you pretty much get the entire hotel to yourselves which include the first floor which is spacious and comfy.
When I visit Zhouzhuang again, I am looking forward to stay here again. It's certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for - which is people passionate about hospitality (in a Chinese way) and also a hygiene and staying experience that is certainly up to international standards.
GGuest Usernice big rooms which is hard to find in Nanjing. the front desk service is great they respond to your request immediately. breakfast is good, especially the noodles and wanton is delicious. Just outside the hotel there is a McDonalds and many convenience stores and also restaurants. lots of parking spaces. the bed and the pillow are very comfortable, they change the bedsheets regularly. the negative side, the sound proofing is very bad can hear people talking from another room but they provide free ear plugs, the hygiene needs to improve a lot, the first room I had have a very strong urine smell coming from the toilet but they changed my room but the next room the shower drain was not cleaned and the bathroom was clogged. i informed the front desk and they informed the house cleaning immediately but the house cleaner did nothing and i have a flooded bathroom for 2 days, this was only sorted out when i told the house cleaner myself when i saw her, disappointed with the house keeper as she told me just remove the drain cap instead of her to clean the clogged drain. the floors is also not cleaned as it’s very dirty. was cleaned only after the 6th day of my stay. supposed to be non smoking hotel but still people smoke in the rooms. there is free washing machine and dryer but the dryer takes 2 hours to dry and still will not dry completely, the washer takes 48 minutes to wash cloths and there is only 2 washing machine and 2 dryer. lucky I stayed during the off seasons so not many people. overall stay is good. for the hygiene I would suggest the management to check on the hygiene of the rooms regularly which very important .

GGuest UserFamilies, when you come to Suzhou, you absolutely *must* stay at the Houju Shangcheng branch! The room is incredibly spacious, so the kids have plenty of room to play without feeling cramped. The cleanliness is spot-on, and the bed is sturdy, which gives me so much peace of mind when traveling with little ones. The hotel also seamlessly incorporates local elements – Suzhou-style windows, white walls, and dark tiled roofs make you feel like you've stepped right into the 'Prosperous Suzhou' painting! Yet, the room itself boasts a chic French retro style; the blend of ancient and modern is just brilliant! And the transportation? Unbeatable! It's directly accessible via Metro Line 2, and Shangchengmen, Changmen, and Shantang Street are all nearby. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful; they recommended so many amazing local eateries that only residents would know about. The facilities and equipment are also brand new. We had such a comfortable stay!
