"Located a fair bit away from the main Punakha town, the cottages have a good view of the river meandering below. The cottage rooms are decent for a one night stay and comfortable. We were informed that the hotel had reopened only 15 days prior, which was evident from the teething problems that the front desk had during check-in. However, the staff, given time will be able to overcome this, since the manager is someone who knows his trade. All in all, good stop for one night."

"This hotel complex is huge and impersonal. After seeing many hotels in Bhutan, this one is built for mass tourism: it's a bit like a factory. It's a shame in a country that is so calm and usually leads to relaxation. In the buildings intended for sleeping, the rooms are simple and clean but there is zero decoration. There is nothing that makes you want to stay in the room is simple. It's sad especially since there is no bathtub to relax and forget the noisy neighbors. The restaurant, which is actually a hall that serves a nice buffet but looks like a cafeteria when the 70 customers all meet at the same time to eat there, has no charm and looks like a cafeteria. The positive point is that there are several fruits for dessert and good fruit juices for breakfast."
