Quest Wangaratta ★★★★

📍 12 Docker St, Wangaratta

"If you arrive at the hotel too late, there will be no reception. You have to call to get the room card. The room is big and clean, and there is a kitchen for cooking. It is an apartment-style hotel. No toothpaste toothbrush slippers."

Milawa Muscat Retreat B&B ★★★★

📍 1422 Snow Rd, Milawa

"We last stayed here in 2018 and was pleased that the same high standards were upheld in 2025. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. I like the way the bedroom is in a little alcove and then a lounge area with a table for two. The little outdoor setting is great to relax in with a glass of wine. The little touches like chocolates, muscat samples in your room, contintental part of your breakfast served first then hot breakfast, bottle water in fridge, tv placed so can be seen in bedroom or lounge all add to the experience. The breakfasts are really tasty with an excellent menu served at a time to suit you. Denise and Peter are exceptional hosts willing to help out but not intrusive. The B&B was pretty well full but this did not stop the exceptional service and it was quiet. A good spot that we will return to."

"Disappointing Stay – Unpleasant Room and Poor Customer Service We stayed in one of the motel's budget rooms, fully aware that we shouldn’t expect luxury—but even with modest expectations, our experience was deeply disappointing. We booked a budget room over the Easter weekend and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. The room had a terrible smell—like a mix of cigarette smoke and mould—that hit us as soon as we walked in. The bathroom was extremely small and outdated, with cracked tiles and visible black mould, which was pretty concerning from a hygiene and health perspective. The air quality in the room was so poor that we felt nauseated and unwell after a few hours of stay. We had to cut our stay short -- leaving at 2am to sleep in the car -- for the sake of our health. We raised these issues with reception, hoping they might offer a solution or at least express some concern, but their attitude was surprisingly dismissive. It felt like they expected us to accept these conditions simply because it was a budget room, which is unacceptable. Regardless of the price point, a room should be clean and safe to stay in. We understand it was a busy Easter weekend and they were fully booked, so there were no other rooms available to move us to. But what really stood out was their lack of basic customer service—no apology, no real attempt to make things right beyond eventually refunding us for the rest of our stay when we chose to leave. Overall, while we appreciate the refund, the situation could have been handled much better. Customer service was sorely lacking, and the condition of the room should never have been considered acceptable to begin with."

Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway ★★★★
"Everything would be perfect if the room was away from the swimming pool and the main road. The children started at 7:30 am going to the swimming pool and they were screaming loudly. It was impossible to use the swimming pool because it was busy all the time. However things that I have to consider if we need to book an accomodation in Wangaratta. Restaurant, staff and room cleaning good."

Millers Cottage Motel ★★★
"From the outside, this motel looks especially dingy and neglected, but the rooms aren't bad. It's perfectly clean and has all the features you'd expect of an ordinary motel in any Australian town. Perfectly adequate, and appropriately priced."

Parkview Motor Inn and Apartments ★★★★
"Located in the heart of Wangarata, parking is convenient in front of the room, making luggage handling easy, and check-in is simple. Ideal for a short stay during your trip, and not far from a supermarket. The room is spacious and suitable for families. However, there's only one air conditioner, which might not be enough if it gets too hot."
