📍 Kovambo Nujoma Road 42 Kovambo Nujoma Road, Walvis Bay

"We had a great experience here. The hotel is very well-located - it was just steps away from our Sandwich Bay tour departure point. Every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They all went above and beyond. The thatched roof is charming. The room was comfortable, with nice pillows. The breakfast is great. But the real standout is the quality of the staff, from the front desk to the wait staff to the nighttime security guard to the laundry staff!"

Protea Hotel Walvis Bay Indongo

Protea Hotel Walvis Bay Indongo ★★★

📍 Corner of Sam Nujoma Avenue &, 10th Rd, Walvis Bay

"I was in the one of the Atlantis suites and it was excellent value - a big lounge, big bedroom and separate bathroom. The rooms were clean and spacious, cool and nicely furnished. There was a short order cook at breakfast for eggs and the room service was tasty and was delivered quickly when I had a working lunch in the room. The wifi was more reliable than at the more expensive hotel where I stayed in Windhoek, and there was parking on site. The front desk staff were cheerful and friendly. The hotel is well located in the centre of town close to the port, the drydock and many commercial establishments. I got Marriott Bonvoy points as well. Only two downsides are there is no gym or fitness room at the hotel, and secondly the fridge in the living space was remarkably noisy. There are flashier places in Walvis Bay on the esplanade but for a short stay I would recommend the Protea Indongo Hotel"

"Friendly service and good food. Thank you. Enjoyed the wood fire a lot. TV channels options not so good."

Protea Hotel Walvis Bay Pelican Bay ★★★★

📍 The Esplanade, Walvis Bay

"Walvis Bay is not a large town so hotels are not widely available. Nevertheless, given paucity of Hotels, this hotel did rate high on TA reviews. The car I had booked well ahead of time wasn’t there at the Airport. It wasn’t a good feeling to find yourself in a strange country all by yourself. I had to make a few expensive calls, since I had to use my phone which was on roaming, to the hotel. The hotel reception called the driver and had him return to pick me up. This is Africa so getting angry is a waste of time😤. Check in at the hotel was a breeze and this lovely young lady by the name of Kesia, took care of my check in and during my stay. The room was redone (or so I was told) but WiFi was spotty but usable. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the Bay. The only downer of the room was that water drainage of the shower seemed to be blocked so one had only a limited time to take a shower before the water overflowed into the toilet. I did complain to the Reception but I was leaving after 2 night so I told them to get it done after I’ve left the hotel. Breakfast was very nice but as being Africa, very dependent on beef. Since I don’t eat beef or pork, I’m always stuck with eggs. There was enough of fruits so I always had a very full breakfast on both days. I had dinner on my first night at the hotel and I must say, I enjoyed the lamb chop which was grilled to my liking and was very filling. Overall, a very nice albeit basic hotel (considering where I’ve stayed in) but very nice staff with a special mention to Kesia. She may just be the youngest team member there but always helpful and friendly. I hope the hotel keeps her there since the guests will always be in good hands."

Bella Luna B&B

Bella Luna B&B ★★★

📍 Meersig Park, Hesko Street 12, Walvis Bay

"Location is far away from pretty much everything (shops, eateries, tour operator offices etc), but close to the promenade. My room was absolutely great and had everything I could possibly need. It was clean, well-designed and comfortable. Staff was nice: they checked me in early. 2 small drawbacks: WiFi was sluggish and there were no toiletries except for an unbranded dispenser which apparently is supposed to be used as both shampoo and shower gel, which is questionable."

"I spent a night at The Rez Guesthouse, and it was absolutely lovely! It’s a beautiful spot right in the heart of Walvis Bay—stylish, super comfortable, and really well set up. The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Next time I’m in Walvis, I’ll definitely be staying there again!"

"Place has secure parking which was great. Staff at check-in wasnt aware of our vegan food wishes and didnt really bother. Next day the owner called and asked us why we didnt come for breakfast, so clear mis-communication amongst staff. Location is decent, Walvis Bay isn't the most beautiful. Rooms were decent, but we didnt like the fact that you could technically look inside the rooms from the outside doors, this should be covered. Other than that, decent place for what you pay."

"Overall, we were very happy with our stay here! The rooms are spacious with large, comfy beds. The rooms were very clean with good quality towels and bedding. Nice hot shower with good pressure. The staff were all super friendly and Malani was super helpful and tried to make our stay extra special as it was our honeymoon. They also have a security guard monitoring the parking lot where our car was parked but at no point did we ever feel unsafe in the area. The breakfast was also decent and they had a wide selection of options. Overall I'd recommend this place!"
