"The motel was quite large. The old lady wasn't there when we arrived, so we called her and she brought the motel (it was actually in one of the rooms inside). The room was spacious, with a double bed and a single bed, and a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and shower. Parking was available in front of the motel. It overlooked the famous old lighthouse across the river. However, the toilet seat didn't stay upright, and the hot water handle in the shower kept falling off. Overall, it was okay."

"Management is appalling. No service, no change of linen, in hospitable. Manager rudely spoke to staff. It has no pool. It's very low budget . False advertising. An lack of care for the premises. The manager has an ad on Locanto offering male guest services . Then she opens ur mail or parcels I'm sure that's a felony to open ur parcels. The innoppropriate placement of furnishing. An jus outright budget service considering the amount of 4360 per week to stay accommodated here. No milk or restock she states u have to ask . So what exactly have u paid for. Shocking ants in rooms an jus a real shame it use to be nice. But when management isn't good expect a disasterous stay. It the most unbelievable management an I've stayed in motels around the world this is shocking locked in, no fire escape, All the cameras in the world an still wants to know ur business"

"We booked this hotel last minute and arrived within 20 minutes. The check in was smooth and everything was immaculately set up for us. The location is very good - walking distance to the beach, playground, shops and restaurants; yet far away from all the noise in the town. We stayed at the top floor and can hear seagulls from the roof. However, they were no trouble as they went to sleep when the sun was down. Lovely stay and we would book it again."

"Very clean and quiet. WiFi, while free would not allow streaming, and access to some other general sites such as NZ Parliament. So used mobile data. Some utensils and cockery need updating and replacing e g. chipped cockery and missing spoons. No Sky Movie channels and one documentary channel - but plenty of sports channels. Only the plus side friendly greeting from reception and good value for money deal. Bed was comfortable, and not much noise from road. The small courtyard out the back was nice to sit in."
