"I've been coming here several times a year for years. Everything is positive: the welcome, the cleanliness of both the room and the common areas, the high-quality food and wines, the kindness of the staff—in short, everything deserves top marks. The area is wonderful. Beyond the Villandro Alp, it's a stone's throw from Val Gardena, Val di Funes, Val Pusteria, and Alpe di Siusi. In short, for me, the hotel is right in the middle of everything. I feel at home. Thank you all."

"I stayed only one night (luckily) with my partner and we had a terrible experience: the price was decidedly high (€250 for a single night with dinner), which was acceptable for such high-quality treatment, which we didn't get. A rather cold check-in, where we were immediately informed that dinner would be served from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. When asked if it would be possible to come down later, the answer was "yes, at 7:00 PM." Another communication was that the spa was closed at dinner time—6:30 PM. Since check-in is at 2:00 PM, considering the forms to fill out, check-in to the room, and unpacking, you have three hours to use it. The room was different from the photos on the website; the furnishings were dated and very small overall, especially the bathroom. There were hangers on the door of the cabinet in front of the bed that covered the TV; from the left side of the bed, you could only see half the TV. If you're looking for a weekend spa break, you'll want to skip the three or four pools mentioned. An outdoor jacuzzi was closed the entire day I stayed, and the large outdoor pool, which offers a beautiful view, was barely warm, as were the others. There's no direct connection to the indoor pool, so in the winter, your bathrobe and slippers freeze, and you get cold walking from there to inside and back. The Turkish bath, sauna, and infrared cabins are little more than tiny cabins; they each hold two people at most! When I asked if I could still use the spa on the day of checkout (obviously before seeing it, otherwise I wouldn't have even asked), I was told yes, but for €25 per person. Regardless of whether or not to charge for something is at the discretion of the hotel, it wouldn't even be worth it if it cost €5. Dinner is also served at significantly reduced times, and if you don't arrive between 6:30 and 7:00 PM, you won't have access to the buffet, but only the set menu. Dinner is included in the price of your stay, but upon checkout, we were charged extra for water and coffee. The only positive aspect is that dinner and breakfast were good."

"Words cannot describe how much we loved our 4 night stay in this superbly renovated 700 year old castle. Elisabeth and her wonderful team went out of their way to make our stay special. Each morning Elisabeth would help us with our plan for the day and because of this we saw the most spectacular parts of this beautiful region. Breakfast was exceptional as was dinner in the restaurant. Pre dinner drinks outside in the beautiful courtyard with the mountains as backdrop was also very special. A nearby pool and sauna in a picturesque setting were also available, a wonderful treat after a warm day of exploring! Thank you Elisabeth, Peter and I will definitely be back."

"I'd like to start with the positives. The staff are incredibly friendly. The garage is a good size. The swimming pool is also very nice. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else positive. I traveled to the hotel with my wife and dog. We were greeted warmly and offered a welcome drink. Since it was very warm, we wanted to enjoy it on the terrace. As soon as we stepped onto the terrace, we were "greeted" by a loud honk from the construction crane opposite. At that point, I immediately considered getting back in the car and leaving... But we decided to give the hotel another chance. After our drinks, we went to our room with a view of the Dolomites. Upon entering the room, we were met with what felt like a sweltering 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit). I immediately went looking for the air conditioning switch. No luck! There was no mention of air conditioning anywhere... Our mistake... We opened the balcony door and were greeted once again by the crane operator... Our view fell upon what we later learned was a retirement home. Shouldn't the Dolomites be there? Yes, you can see the Dolomites, but that gray box is always in the foreground... The night was a disaster. We couldn't leave any windows or blinds open because the cars driving down the mountain would shine their lights right in our faces. It got hotter and hotter, and our dog couldn't stop panting. We didn't get a wink of sleep either. We hoped we could at least sleep in the room during the day. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible because of the construction site across the street. We then asked at reception for a fan. The staff searched in vain for one. When I asked where I could buy one myself, I received no answer... They promised they would find one and bring it to our room. Unfortunately, we waited in vain for the fan. So, the night turned into another nightmare. On top of that, a delivery arrived at 4:00 a.m. that was impossible to miss. That was the last straw, and we told reception we wanted to leave. The friendly gentleman checked with his boss and informed us that we would have to pay the full price for the two nights and half price for the following night, since we wouldn't be staying. This was despite the fact that there was no mention whatsoever of a construction site across the street. We also searched in vain for the promised hiking trails and green spaces for walking the dog. The food was okay, but apart from the portion size, it had nothing to do with a 4-star hotel. I've even had better half a chicken at Oktoberfest back home. We unfortunately cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hotel to anyone."
