Torre de Gomariz Wine & Spa Hotel ★★★★★

"Our stay here has been fabulous. The environment is wonderful, the facilities are top class, the food is great, the rooms are spacious and comfortable but most importantly the staff are seriously good. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Portugal."

Amoure Hotel - The Leading Hotels of the World ★★★★

"We have stayed at Maison Albar - Amoure three times in this its opening 12 months and it doesn't feel enough. It's boldly and beautifully designed and laid out. The gardens are delightful, punctuated with contemporary artworks. The pool is long and complemented again with great landscaping and artworks. Every member of staff is superb. The check-in is one of the best check-experiences we've had, making one feel special as soon as you step out of your car. The rooms are comfortable, modern with great beds, luxurious bathrooms and fascinated views over the gardens to the surrounding countryside. On our first stay, we ended up ordering room service because we didnt want to leave the room. That said, in the subsequent stays we have eaten in the restaurant and in the bar - both menus are excellent. The breakfast deserves special mention, as does the waiter service. We have just booked our fourth stay later this month and are looking ahead to when we can fit in the fifth and sixth!"

Quinta do Casal de S. Miguel de Soutelo ★★★

Terra Rosa Country House & Vineyards ★★★★

"We booked as it called its self a tranquil retreat . It said “calm quiet and peaceful in the countryside”. Which when we arrived was all of the above . After an hour by the pool ( a few other couples dotted about) Then arrived the small badly behaved children. The hotel is to small to accommodate both type of holiday . You either say a family/ child friendly or you say quiet retreat both cannot work in this small beautiful space . There are only 7 rooms . I CANNOT fault the staff the management, the food or the stunning interiors. But our short trip was ruined by 3 family’s that had no control of their children and no awareness of how much noise they made . The hotel staff politely said they blamed the parents not the children and were so sorry but they could do nothing , which we got . I felt sorry for the lovely staff. Terra Rosa needs to decide whether it is a family kids hotel or a tranquil peaceful retreat. It cannot be both ."

Hotel Cotto do Gatto ★★★★

"We had the loveliest stay and thoroughly enjoyed everything the hotel has to offer from our gorgeous and comfortable room, to the pool in the afternoons after our hikes and the delicious restaurant. The staff are all amazing and went out of their way to make us comfortable at ever opportunity. This is a unique home away from home, especially for pet owners traveling with their furry friends - I’ve never stayed anywhere as spotless and lovely while they let us take our dog everywhere with us. We’ll certainly be back on our next trip in the region!"
