"The hotel caters for coach tours and treats guests like school children. The staff are hostile giving the overall impression they don't want you there. The restaurant staff herd you about rudely and try to take your food away before you finish presumably to get you out of the restaurant and off their hands as soon as The rooms are sparse bathrooms too small beds and bedding very basic air conditioning split units and they hide the remote controls so you cant set temperature or direction of the icey blast directly focused on your bed The bathroom shower was a joke - it was a plastic cubicle multi jets but inadequate pressure to make them work. The main shower was a hand fitting in a slidy type clamp which pointed the shower at an odd angle away from your head. Unpredictable useless temperature control This is at best two star hotel and ideal for parties of school children who have no idea what real four star hotels are like and want a cheap deal No complaints about quality of food but definitely mass catering and room cleaning staff do an excellent job everywhere spotless but that's it nothing else to recommend this grim uncomfortable excuse for a hotel Imagine Faulty Towers without the humour and you won't be far wrong "

"What started out as a 2 night stay was extended to 4 nights (prior to arriving) and what a wonderful time we had. Enjoyable wine tasting and the purchase of good quality wine that they make hit the spot along with an enjoyable and variable breakfast, set outside near the pool and olive trees. "Unfortunately we never made it to this Sciali Hotel, without warning us they cancelled our reservation, already confirmed by them too, the reason? Because they consider a kitten, a non-domestic animal, in this hotel they discriminate even with furry friends. We have been traveling with our kitten for 9 years, a Radgol suitable for pet therapy, polite and friendly but all our reassurances were not enough and they appealed to their internal regulations, we had chosen this hotel because they accepted animals, our request was very specific and therefore it had also been confirmed by them. But in a very arrogant way our reservation was cancelled blaming Booking, which is not true, since we contacted the operators. I believe that the first thing of these hoteliers must be serious, Booking reassured me that the amount of the stay will not be charged"

"Not a positive experience at all, a 4 star hotel in name but in fact a mediocre 3 star. Here is the experience I had: first, a small room without a chair (there wouldn't have been one) without a drawer except two in the wardrobe, sheets not changed for a week, a pillowcase stained with red instead of changing it they turned it upside down, bathroom without a hanger, all the towels hanging on the radiator, mixer too hard due to limescale deposits reported but nothing, up to this point everything was acceptable, but the kitchen!!! You had to queue with your plate in hand like a soup kitchen, I remember it's 4 stars, the quality of the food in my opinion and not only mine was poor in fact many were slow, even if you could get up and have seconds of three, those times with pasta with fish it was difficult to find it on the plate, not to mention that for fruit at lunch there was only one fruit, for dinner dessert or on request an apple I remember it's a 4 star. I had reported my intolerance to garlic but despite this I felt sick a couple of times even though they had told me there wasn't any. (I must have some doubts) To be honest the outside is beautiful with plants and flowers and a nice pool. In conclusion I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, a real disappointment."

We were lucky to have a free upgrade to a lovely and very spacious suite with sea view, but it was our host Francesco who made our experience perfect. He was welcoming, friendly and helped us with the parking (which may be a bit tricky) so we could enjoy our experience in Vieste. He also suggested things to do and restaurants, as well as optional activities in the area. Delicious breakfast was served in a restaurant next to the main entrance, which was very convenient. We were there near the end of the season (mid October) and were only one of three people staying. We must’ve been stuck in the worst “rustic cabin”! Cracked walls, no soap in dispensers, broken shower. Then came dinner in the restaurant. Worst meal I’ve ever had in Italy! All deep fried. Felt like we were an inconvenience to the 2 people I saw there. Their wine was just ok."

"We spent 10 days in this hotel and we had a good time from all points of view: plentiful and good breakfast (same things every morning), clean and spacious rooms, dinner with an always different menu, with 3 choices for both first and second courses. for the second and first courses really good! "Hotel located just in front of the sea with various bathing facilities. With about 10/15 minutes walk you can reach the center of Vieste. The car can be stopped in the municipal parking 20 metres from the hotel. 5 euros for the whole day or 1 euro per hour. Room (103) medium size with a beautiful terrace with chairs, stick and a small low table. Low pool with possibility of activating hydromassage. Small but useful for one hour/two relaxation. There is a spa we haven't tried. Breakfast is excellent with both sweet and salty buffet from hours 7.30 at 12:00. Personnel at the professional reception. Attention Monday, the area of stay becomes a market area, so we need to find another car accommodation from midnight. However, the reception staff inform the guests to avoid verbal and removal of the vehicle. Quality ratio price more than satisfactory."

She granted our every wish (ability to make morning tea in our room, a tour of the hotel and amazing roof-top deck--with water views from front to back, explanation of the morning breakfast routine AND even recommending a visit to the local farmacia's Dr. for advice about a one traveler's mysteriously swollen ankle). Being married to a local fisherman, she even shared with us how to cook fresh anchovies.... The hotel appeared to have been completely updated recently, and the rooms were very comfortable. I can highly recommend this hotel (and Eda) to anyone looking for a pleasant stay in a quiet-but-interesting seaside hotel in Vieste."

"Stayed here for 3 nights as part of our Puglia Tour with Riviera Travel. Positives - * we had a very nice walk-in shower in our room with a rainshower plate. * the appetiser / starter buffet was excellent each night at dinner. * the breakfast buffet was quite good. Negatives - * beds were very hard and uncomfortable - didn't sleep well. * lack of sound proofing meant that we could hear our neighbours walking around and moving furniture, night and day. * seating in the lounge, the bar areas and the outside terrace was also very uncomfortable. * Room was hot - had to ask Reception staff to reset the air conditioning. Overall, not good. I would definitely not stay here again."

"The Hotel is located in a beautiful private park 50 m from the beach and this is the positive note. For the rest, it has very little of 5 stars, perhaps about twenty years ago, the rooms are dated and small with a blind bathroom without a shower with a fiberglass tub with a hand shower closed by a half cabin. I don't know if it was due to a misunderstanding with the tour operator or due to the cunning of the hotel managers but the fact is that we had booked 2 rooms with a sea/pool view for a long time and instead we found ourselves with a view of the parking lot above a building used for air conditioning motors which made an infernal noise 24 hours a day. To our complaints we were told that it is not the rooms that make the 5 stars but the services? offered. The restaurant, apart from the courtesy of the staff and the soft musical entertainment, has nothing special, yes, you are served, they change your cutlery for each course, but the cuisine is very normal, indeed, almost gourmet and to be served on time we must recommend ourselves to the good heart of the waiter who passed by our table, watch out for the drinks because they are not cheap at all, the wines range from €30 per bottle and even water costs €3.50 for a bottle of 3 /4 litre. Another positive note is the beach service with kind and ready operators, umbrellas at the right distance and 2 sunbeds per umbrella. Overall, the place is beautiful, the beach is clean and the sea is splendid."

"We stayed four nights and had a really fantastic time. The hotel was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean with excellent air-conditioning. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the service was very good. We did half board and the dinner was excellent, particularly the antipasti. The other facilities were great and really made the holiday. The swimming pool was the best hotel swimming pool we have had. It was very large with a 2.6 m deep end and plenty of room in the shallow as well and lots of space and Sun beds available Around. There were also lots of other facilities such as tennis courts which were free and equipment provided, and a large gym which we didn’t actually get around to using although it looked very well equipped.. There was table football, a playground, and table tennis, as well as mini golf. Although our daughter was too old, there was a very active kids club that looked excellent. Drinks at the rooftop bar were very reasonable and there was live music twice a week which was very nice. The beach was lovely. We didn’t take the hotel minibus but parked there for €5. It was all very easy and convenient. Would definitely recommend. We were very sorry to leave and would love to come back. Also, Vieste is a really beautiful town. The old town and Harbour are stunning and people were extremely friendly."

"Edit: this was the second year in a row we've stayed with Stefano and Valentina at Dimora Cumma Mari. We love the property, we loved our host and hostess, and Vieste is a very special, relaxing place. What follows our review from our first stay. I'd change nothing in what I've written, but would just emphasize again how special it was. Vieste is an absolutely enchanting town on the eastern end of the Gargano peninsula. Dimora Cumma Mari added to our enchantment. The B & B sits literally steps outside the entrance to the old city, so it’s in an absolutely perfect location. The couple running the B & B—Stefano and Valentina—are extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect hosts. The rooms are limited in number: 6 in total. They’re comfortable, spacious, well-appointed and modern; they clearly put a great deal of thought into the original renovation. We stayed in the Marina Deluxe Suite, which featured a lovely view towards the faro, two balconies and a kitchenette. It was delightful. Breakfast was on an interior patio and featured a lovely Mediterranean breakfast buffet. They also have a private terrace on the roof with killer views. Stefano and Valentina are eager to provide their insights on what to see and do, both in Vieste and on the Gargano peninsula (and they send you their own customized guide when you arrive). Given their proximity to the old town, on-site parking is extremely limited, but the hosts will help you figure out parking. I can’t say enough good things about this property or the hosts. We will be returning!"

"Just finished a wonderful week at this beautiful hotel. The comfortable room had sea views, balcony and excellent air conditioning. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and locally sourced produce. The Focaccia was one of the highlights for me as were the cakes. The pool is big and the water warm and crystal clear with good sun lounges under shade cover if required. The gardens were beautiful. The expansive sand beach is just across the road and the recommended beach club had excellent food. There are also lots of other nice beaches within a short drive. We had excellent food at all the restaurants we visited in the town. You can walk into the old town or it’s a very short drive with a large car park by the marina. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and very helpful. The room was cleaned daily. Would highly recommended this hotel and would love to return for another holiday one day."
