"Our stay at Hotel Tilia (July 28–30, 2025) was unfortunately far below expectations. Check-in was fully self-service and poorly designed. The touchscreen barely worked, the pre check-in email arrived too late, and there was no staff present to assist. When we called the emergency number for help with parking, the staff member gave wrong directions and seemed unfamiliar with the hotel layout. Finding and entering the garage took multiple calls and unnecessary frustration. The parking itself is paid (CHF 9 per night), but communication about it was minimal. Even worse, the EV charging setup is both confusing and unreasonably priced. The chargers are not marked as “charging only,” yet charge high idle fees on top of normal electricity and parking costs. No prices were shown on the screen before starting, and payment options (via browser and credit card) were not explained anywhere. A complaint email was sent during our stay, but no one responded at the time. Only weeks after sending a second email did we receive a brief and evasive reply. This means that even issues raised during a stay are not addressed while guests are still on-site, which is unacceptable. All of this could have been avoided by simply sending the check-in email on time (making self-service check-in almost unnecessary), communicating clearly about parking and idle fees, or – better yet – not charging idle fees at all. Knowing this now, I would consider returning, as I understand how parking and charging work, though I would definitely skip using the chargers altogether. For others: watch out for idle fees on the chargers. Parking is around the back, parking garage is down a ramp, parking door can be opened with the room card, at the time there was no signage regarding parking. "Great location if you need to stay next the airport (basically inside the airport). Probably the cheapest accommodation in the surroundings. The activation of the key took me a while but finally I thought it was a pretty good system. It’s silent, I slept well. Perhaps the only negative note was a little bit of dust in the room (you want zero dust when you sleep in such a small space). Good experience overall."

"We stayed there one night for next morning early flight. Free 5 minute hotel shuttle ride to airport. The room is clean and bigger then usual European hotel we has been in. Staffs are friendly and multilingual. There is not much going on around there except hotels. Not much eatery,( besides the hotel restaurant), shopping that we can see on the way from town center. The direct train ride from Zurich HB (right near town center) to airport is 10 minutes ride. Next time we might pick a hotel closer to town to spend more tome exploring."
