"We travelled to Surville as an end destination based just on reviews we’d read here. Even though the reviews were great, it exceeded expectations. It’s hard to describe just how warmly welcoming the proprietors, Camille, Hugues and their delightful children were. It really did feel like staying with friends. The hotel is set in beautiful, thoughtfully laid out grounds. We swam in the warm pool, played badminton, cycled and just enjoyed picnicking in the wild flower meadow. The hosts lent us bikes for some wonderful rural bike rides between medieval villages. The restaurant was central to the experience and we enjoyed high quality, thoughtful cooking. Indeed, my daughter commented that she’d never had such posh food and so many courses! The rooms were simple, immaculate and very comfortable. Everything is of such a high standard and so thoughtful. We will definitely come back as soon as we can!"

One of the most beautiful villages in france, with a lot of history and a charming beautifully renovated old hotel, with easy parking and even with pool and spa in another building. Also, with a top class restaurant serving very delicious dining. Very nice and helpful staff. Highly recommended."

"The location in city center is a nice location and convenient if you want to walk. The pool and spa facilities were very nice and the pool is warmed. The rooms are starting to show wear and tear, carpet, the shower handles. The bed needed a little more of a topper to make it a little more comfortable. A more ni fridge would be nice in the room so you can have cold drinks. The people were nice, the facility was clean with a good location. It worth staying."

"Very disappointed with the hotel, the rooms are old, no storage, there was no heating, it was extremely cold, a technician was supposed to intervene but he never came. The sound insulation is catastrophic, we can hear everything the roommates do. The swimming pool was supposed to be heated but this was not the case, the hammam did not work so everyone crowded into the sauna so it was rarely available. We sat on small rattan armchairs to wait for our massage, these armchairs were moldy. The positive points: the staff, breakfast and herbal tea available."

"A lovely place to stay, with beautiful views and the constant sound of birdsong creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. It felt like a world away from home. The heated pool was wonderful, especially after a hot day of travelling, and the room was extremely comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was excellent, offering a great selection of choices each morning. Sadak looked after us throughout our stay and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. He really is a credit to this hotel and I hope management are aware of how amazing he is. Highly recommended."

"This is such a cozy and romantic little hotel; they gave us a prime balcony room. Parking is convenient in the courtyard, and it's easy to walk to Elephant Trunk Hill. There's also a shopping street and a Carrefour supermarket nearby. The hotel breakfast was delicious; I especially loved the fresh applesauce."

"This was the last hotel on my 30-day trip to France, and unexpectedly, it was the only one I had to give a bad review: First, don't expect the service staff to greet you proactively when you enter; second, it's on the third floor with no elevator, so don't expect anyone to help you with your luggage; third, there were souvenirs like hair left by previous guests on the bed; fourth, it was the only hotel without a kettle; fifth, the staff didn't provide any parking directions; and sixth, don't expect them to say goodbye when you check out. In short, this hotel failed to live up to Ctrip's recommendation!"
