"The staff were very friendly and very willing to share local recommendations and helpful tips. The room was clean and the bathroom was freshly renovated and lovely. Views from the window were stunning. Travellers may like to note the bed really was just a double bed, not queen, and the noise from the crowds in the street did carry up into the room overnight. Breakfast was a very generous buffet, and once again the staff were outstanding. Easy walk to local eateries and shops."

"We stayed in a private double room with no bathroom. The room was small and simple, but the location of the Youth hostel bang in the harbour is wonderful. Lots of nice places to eat fish. Cal at reception was extremely friendly and helpful! The self catering kitchen could have been cleaner, but if people don't clean up after themselves, it's not the youth hostel's fault, but it does make you feel annoyed why some guests behave as if they were in a hotel and leave a mess. Grow up, everybody!"

"This hotel is well situated with great views across the loch. It is a big hotel so it feels busy and naturally most people are passing through on a tour. Rooms are spacious - we had a balcony - with good facilities, bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. Staff are friendly and attentive. The downside is the restaurant - which apparently is sub contracted and not managed by the hotel. As we sat down we were told none of the specials were available and two of the main courses were also unavailable. But the main issue is the cost - all the main courses were around mid 30's£ (the fish was £40!) which is just obvious profiteering as there is nowhere else, and it was hardly a gourmet experience. These are upper level London prices.Shame as it is is a good place to stay but they just rip you off in the dining room."
