"Our stay at Seaside Oceanview was amazing!!!😍😍 The room was super clean and comfortable! The staff were also super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also joined their excursions since they have an excursions centre and everything was very well-organized with a strong focus on safety. Special thanks to Jessica for being so kind and accommodating. Everything went smoothly, making our trip stress-free and memorable. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again! ❤️"

Ranthari Hotel and Spa, Ukulhas Maldives ★★★★

📍 Vasha Magu, Ukulhas

"The location is excellent – right across from a private bikini beach with a fairly thriving reef. The rooms are neat. The breakfast isn't mind-blowing, but it's perfectly adequate. The staff is beyond reproach: they'll go out of their way to help with any questions. Rezaul is a star! ☺"

"Everything was great, we were met and seen off, and the hotel is right next to the pier. Everything is modern, with nightstands with charging stations, clean, beach towels provided, and a choice of breakfasts. The only downside was the smell in the restroom, which occasionally smelled like sewage."

West Sands Ukulhas ★★★

📍 6V77+9W6, Vasha Magu, Ukulhas

"First, you need to put the environment into context. The island of Ukulhas, inhabited by hospitable Maldivians who are always kind and smiling, still has a lot to learn when it comes to guest houses. We had booked an Ocean Suite; upon arrival, they gave us a sort of upgrade (we had paid around USD 200 a night anyway), and as soon as we got to the room, we were greeted by an unmistakable sewer smell. Hours later, we realized the toilet didn't work, not to mention that they had only left us two towels for the bathroom. I love simplicity, but the total lack of attention and detail, no: a soap dish, a towel rack? In 10 days, they NEVER came to clean our room, let alone the bathroom. The aforementioned problems (toilet and towel rack) were promptly fixed, but not the sewer smell... A typical structure that could be much more appreciated, but lacking order and organization."

SeaLaVie Inn ★★★

📍 Jamhooree Magu, Ukulhas

"Our stay in Sea la Vie exceeded our expectations! The place is very well decorated from the inside out, the rooms are spacious and sparkling clean and the staff is very friendly, efficient and always willing to help you with anything you need with a big smile☺️. Breakfast is delicious (try the maldivian options!), not to mention the coffee, the best in town! The location is perfect, just minutes walking from the beach, you can go to the east or west beach to watch the sunrise or sunset🌞, both are just a couple of minutes walking. I totally recommend this Sea la Vie if you want your vacation in Maldives to be unforgettable. Hope to come back soon!☺️"

Ukulhas Sands ★★★

📍 Roashaneegoalhi, Ukulhas

"If you want to experience the genuine hospitality of the Maldives, nothing beats spending time on one of the local islands. And boy, did we get a hearty dose of warmth, friendship and sheer authenticity in Ukulhas, specifically Ukulhas Sands. Even before we arrived, the proprietor, Saeed, had helped us make arrangements for our transport, given us tips and advice on how to make the most of our time here, and generally made getting to the island fuss-free. He personally greeted us at the pier, and took on a short but informative walk to his homely premises, which we found out later was built on his family land. So basically it was an extension of his family home, and we stayed right next to his extended family - and were pretty much treated the same. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed including good wi-fi. It was on the ground floor so going in and out was easy, and the reception counter was just next door for convenient access if we needed anything. While staying at Ukulhas Sands, we also met Shau, Saeed's sister and an exceptional chef. The breakfast that's served at the hotel is cooked by her, and I recommend you choose a different set each day just to get a taste of her diverse culinary expertise. If you, like us, can't get enough of her cooking, you can walk down the street to her cafe, where she can cook up delicious local delights for dinner. You can also enjoy her home-made pastries and ice-cream as you wile away the afternoon. All of that is well and good, of course, but what about that most important feature - access to the beach? Well, no worries there - just a five minute walk in virtually any direction gets you to the sands - hence the name. We tried a different section of the island every day we were there. Our favourite spot was near a beach swing to the West of the island, which we accessed through an opening opposite a public running track/football pitch. The water is calmest there, and the sands aren't as filled with coral remnants as the other areas. Bring a beach towel, some snacks, your favourite book and you're all set for the day! All in all, Saeed and the Ukulhas Sands family made our first trip to the Maldives memorable, and we'll definitely stay here again if there's ever a second trip :P"

"We have rested in this guest house with a family of 8 nights, cheap in price-quality ratio. Beach is near, shops are nearby. The hotel owner is very responsive, all wishes were performed, the child from the hotel cake was for a birthday present. The room is normal for Asian countries, the courtyard is neatly small. Breakfasts were written in advance what preferably. The room was teapot and cup. Water could be taken in the common kitchen, it was in access. The island liked, we'll come again."

Paguro Beach Inn Hotels in Ukulhas

Paguro Beach Inn

"The hotel's location is excellent, just 50 meters from the beach. The room is very well-appointed, and cleaning is provided upon request (cleaned an hour after the sign was posted). We were met at the pier upon arrival and given a room immediately before check-in. Overall, the guesthouse left a pleasant impression, despite the fact that outside our window was the wall of a neighboring hotel under construction (literally a meter away), but why look out the window when the beach is so close? The only thing we didn't really like was the food. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel is small, so we decided to come back later for lunch and there was nothing but rice and 3-4 pieces of fish. We were later compensated with seafood the next day. But even though we're not picky eaters, there were many things we didn't like, especially compared to a previous stay at a more budget-friendly guesthouse where the food was better. Tea and coffee are only available for an extra fee at lunch."

Nala Veli Villa Hotels in Ukulhas

Nala Veli Villa

"A pleasant property located 10 meters from Ukulhas Bikini Beach. The cleanliness of the rooms (remarkably clean) and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are noteworthy. The à la carte menu is good, but the buffet could be improved. Overall, it makes for a pleasant stay."

Ostrov Hotel Hotels in Ukulhas

Ostrov Hotel

"Very good hotel! Upon arrival there were some small problems with the check-in - we spent one night in the wrong room, but as compensation the next day we were moved to a better room. After fishing we fried the fish that we caught on the grill and served it with rice and salad for free. Very attentive, even so: VERY attentive staff. Always nearby, constantly helping with everything. Cleaning every day is good, every day they brought clean water to the room. Manager Farit is just ideal. Breakfasts are very hearty and varied, the cafe is cozy. In general, a very homely hotel. The beach is nearby, WiFi from the hotel reaches it. If we return to the island, we will go here. The best rooms are on the second floor with a balcony."

Seaside Oceanview ★★★★
"The rooms are quite new for this local island; the owner said it only opened in May of this year. The main advantage is that every room has a sea view. We compared many hotels on the island before choosing this one, and we were very satisfied with our stay. They even have Chinese food available, and you can sign up for water excursions through the owner at a reasonable price of $90 USD per person for three activities. There's a 1-on-2 dive guide, and since we're not great swimmers, we needed to be pulled along the whole time – they were very responsible. We also signed up for a trial dive; their hotel is a PADI dive shop with Chinese-speaking instructors, and we took many photos. Overall, we were very satisfied."

"We had to change hotels at the last minute due to an unexpected issue, and I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. Even though we arrived very late, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel immediately welcome. Our room was modern, well-equipped, and spotless. The floors were mopped daily, not just swept, which made the stay even more comfortable. Despite the late arrival, the staff asked about our breakfast preferences for the next morning. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. They even assisted us with our speedboat transfer and helped organize our onward journey. The hotel has modern facilities, and every detail of our stay was positive. I highly recommend it!"

West Sands Ukulhas ★★★
"There are no luxury hotels on the island, and this is not one of them. Among others, he is rather good. The so-called first line. The food is good. There is WiFi and it reaches the beach, due to this I was sufficiently connected without a SIM card. I have no complaints about the number (I was in 201). Yes, the hot water was never hot, which I actually didn’t care about. For information, there was a case: a neighbor went out onto the balcony naked to hang his swimming trunks to dry. Vigilant Muslims noticed him and complained. Don't go naked on the balcony ;)"

SeaLaVie Inn ★★★
"A fabulous small hotel on a lovely island: a great introduction to Maldevian life for us. Access by speedboat from Male Airport is straightforward, although strong winds made the crossing rough in the 17 seater Coral Speed Boat: better to travel in the 60 seater, although I think that they decide which boats are used each day. Sheena met us off the boat at Ukulhas and it was a short buggy ride to Sea La Vie. A lovely entrance way leads to an informal reception area where a welcome coconut drink was gratefully received. We were in room 104; a good size with a large bed and a decent en suite. Two open racks serve as adequate wardrobe space, good for hanging not-quite-dry-yet beach wear, although outside drying rails proved very useful for this as well. Limited shelf space and no drawers meant other clothes enjoyed an "al fresco" few days! We were on a B&B basis and we opted for the Maldivian breakfast every day. Very nice tuna (spicy or not spicy ; your choice) with roshi, plus fruit and a fruit drink. It is best to order black tea and a separate serving of cold mild if you want English breakfast tea. The hotel is ideally placed towards the south east coast, with easy access to Bikini Beach, which wraps around the southern end of the island. The beach is excellent and the snorkeling even better. The western side generally provides calmer waters with easy access to the sea. A sandy start leads to 1m to 2m deep rocky areas, before the reef edge appears around 40m from the shore. The numbers and variety of fish are spectacular, and we also saw three different types of eel along with regular glimpses of small sharks. The southern tip of the island has the most impressive beach but the stronger currents make swimming and snorkeling less appealing. The eastern side generally has larger waves and a deeper sea leading up to the reef. Fish are equally abundant on both sides of the island. Fazeel at the hotel organised an early morning (7am) manta ray trip. Just the two of us on a small boat with two crew members for $130. We were lucky to snorkel with a large manta ray, with three close encounters before it got bored of us and swam away. Sitings are not guaranteed and so we were quite fortunate. Fazeel was also extremely helpful in organising a private speedboat to take us south to our next island (Fenfushi), but the weather again proved too windy and rough and he later cancelled this and arranged seats at the last minute on the usual 65 seater speedboat back to Male. We made our way from there on another large speedboat to Fenfushi. Ukulhas is a vibrant local island which is rapidly becoming more touristy. On the plus side, there are already 20 or more restaurants to choose from. The four that we ate at all provided good, simple meals and we generally chose grilled reef fish which can be ordered in differing sizes according to hunger levels! On the negative side, there is a lot of construction work ongoing, but most of it is to the north, away fr"

"This is my 6th time to the Maldives and my 2nd time on Ukulhas Island. If you are contemplating which island or where to stay - definitely choose a local island. It’s only a 90 min speed ferry to the Island. When you arrive they will greet you and buggy you to their AMAZING property - hands down the best property in Ukulhas. The hospitality, the room, the furnishings are all exceptional. The hotel was designed and built by the manager and owner - Saeed. Super stylish - don’t think twice you must stay here!! There are plenty of excursions from snorkeling with manta rays, shark feeding, sunset fishing and visits to other local islands."

"Jamsheed, the hotel manager of Nala Vili Hotel on the island of Ukulhas in the Maldives, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. He organised a very special anniversary meal for me, James, and my wife, Audrey, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. In addition, Jamsheed personally arranged all of our sea excursions, including swimming with whale sharks, manta rays, nurse sharks, and a night fishing trip. Each experience was completely private — just my wife and me — rather than being part of a large group, which made every trip feel incredibly personal and special. We also have personal videos of all our trip experiences. The anniversary dinner on the beach, with the sunset as our backdrop, was truly spectacular and is an evening we will remember forever. Jamsheed’s staff went above and beyond to make the night feel magical. We enjoyed several meals at Nala Vili Hotel, all beautifully prepared and served by wonderfully attentive staff. Before arriving, we did have some reservations due to construction taking place on both sides of the hotel, as other hotels are currently being built. Our concerns were mainly about noise and dust; however, we are very happy to report that neither was an issue at all. The local council on Ukulhas, together with Jamsheed, has worked closely with the building companies to address these concerns. Construction noise is restricted to certain times of the day so as not to disturb residents or guests, and the building sites are properly sheeted to prevent dust from spreading. All the meals we ate at Nala Vili were wonderfully cooked, and the dining area was immaculately clean. As for noise, the only noticeable sounds were from a lively Italian family and their friends — all fellow residents — enjoying their evening with music, dancing, and singing, which only added to the warm atmosphere. We were fascinated by the island’s development since they gained their independence from the UK in 1965, and asked Jamsheed many questions about the people and local life. He kindly arranged a personal tour for us with a wonderfully intelligent and well-informed young man named Irusham, which gave us a much deeper appreciation of the island and its community. Location Ukulhas Maldives. Rooms excellent and great value for money. We arrived on Ukulhas as tourists and left with friends in Jamsheed and Irusham. They helped make our 25th wedding anniversary one we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We can never truly repay their kindness, but we hope this review helps others discover and fall in love with this little piece of paradise, just as we have."
