Gakyil Thimphu ★★★
"It was great on an overall scale, I loved the food in there. People were really kind and humble, helped us whenever required."
The Pema by Realm ★★★★
"I stayed at the Pema for the duration of my participation in a festival of arts and culture called Bhutan Echoes in August 2026. The Pema is my new favorite hotel in the world. The rooms are extremely elegantly furnished with gorgeous attention to local detail supporting Bhutanese crafts and trades, the food is excellent, drawing on local traditions as well as international cuisine, the staff are attentive and gracious, and the management have created a real sense of community, a home away from home. I was particularly inspired by how the leadership team support their staff through a range of professional development opportunities. A truly exceptional experience from start to finish, highly recommended."
Hotel Mayto ★★★
"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and had a very beautiful view of the nature."
Khamsum Inn ★★★
"The service was excellent, and the location is in the city center."
CityHotel, Thimphu ★★★★
"CityHotel is a nice place to stay with very helpful staff and a great location. The rooms are large and comfortable and you are right in the middle of the city and can walk anywhere. There was not a frig in our room which was no big deal but might be to others. We had a very large balcony where one can sit out if the weather is nice. The reception staff is very helpful with suggestions and accommodating your needs. Special mention to Sangay who helped us with so many things (car/driver etc) that I am not sure her title. She was terrifically helpful. If you want luxury it is certainly there in Thimphu but you will have to pay 3-4 times as much. CityHotel gets the job done for a reasonable price and great service."
Lemon Tree Hotel, Thimphu ★★★
"Outstanding Stay, Service and Hospitality I recently stayed at Lemon Tree Hotel, Thimphu, and had an excellent experience. The hotel is conveniently located, and the rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained. The food quality was very good, and the staff members were polite, attentive, and efficient. A special appreciation goes to the Hotel Manager, Mr. Dhirendra Singh, for his exceptional hospitality and personal attention. He regularly checked on our comfort and ensured that all our requirements were promptly taken care of. The excellent service and genuine care shown by the entire team made our stay memorable. I would highly recommend Lemon Tree Hotel to anyone travelling to Thimphu."
Pelyang Boutique ★★★★
"The hotel and room was excellent but apart from the housekeeping staff, the remainder certainly did their job but did not show the degree of warmth and friendliness I’d experienced in Paro. Toiletries were meagre, there were no face washes and no basic hotel information such as à room service menu, mini bar (advertised) and other such facilities were provided. Meals were adequate.buffet style. I ordered an omelette for breakfast and it was excellent"
Ludrong Hotel ★★★
"Just wow...This hotel met all my expectations. Clean and well-staffed. I had a really good time and felt completely relaxed."
The Capital Hotel Thimphu ★★★★
"We had an excellent stay at the capital. The room was excellent with proper hygiene maintained. The chef was too good had lot of food options in vegetarian. Last but not the least the owner of this property was very courteous and was always ready to help. I would highly recommend the stay here"

Yarkay Thimphu - Ihcl SeleQtions
"Bhutan has been on our bucket list for a very long time and at long last we could make it with a group of very close friends. We reached Thimphu from Phuentsholing by road, which was quite a long drive and at times bumpy. The hotel reception was pretty jammed with a lot of people but we were ushered to the sofas and chairs in the lobby where we completed all check-in formalities. Front Office staff were all very courteous. The room was functional but very clean and fairly modern. Dinner at the hotel was a part of our tour package, therefore, we could taste and relish various local and Indian delicacies over our two nights stay. The location is absolutely central and as a result we could take a walk in the evening for shopping around the area after our days city sightseeing. All in all, it was a highly enjoyable experience! "
Bhutan Peaceful Residency and Spa

Loved the experience and staff. Chef wants to know your preferences. They take good care and are prompt even in health emergencies"

Norkhil Boutique Hotel & Spa
"This is a beautiful hotel with huge rooms and very good food. we did not eat the buffet for dinner and the butter chicken and local ema Datshi made for a wonderful dinner with rice and bread. Beds were comfortable and it was a great first night in Bhutan. Staff was very pleasant. Lots of tour groups here and some were pretty noisy."
The Gochukha Hotel
"I really enjoyed while staying at gochukha hotel and all facilities are awesome. Meals that have served by hotel are very delicious. All staff and manager are very kind hearted la. I had a good experience and enjoy the food and the facilities."
Zhiwaling Ascent
"Pros: 1) The size of the rooms are decent with nice floor to ceiling windows.. 2) Appreciate turn down service (but could do better with a little treat!) 3) Breakfast and especially, coffee was acceptable. Would appreciate something local 4) Staff were helpful but lacks warmth of a small boutique hotel… 5) BIG plus… Beautiful views, especially from the 3rd level! Cons: 1) Had to change room (to a smaller one) on 2nd night as toilet glass panel cracked! 2) Dinner was meh! 3) No bidet/ bidet spray for toilet 4) No other activity ard the area for us (no gym/ spa/ activity) 5) staff was not too reassuring on check out, as I had to leave quickly… Got a friend who checked out later to settle with the front desk if there were any other issues with my check out… Overall, a great experience but may think twice about staying there again…"
33rd Executive Suites
"Very polite and humble staffs, had an amazing experience, very professional attitude and always ready to help and assistance."
Le Méridien Thimphu
"A flawless stay, marked by flawless hospitality & a flawless start to the journey across Bhutan is perhaps the best I’d sum up my experience at the Le Meridian, Thimphu. Post arrival in Bhutan, we were to travel to Thimphu first to begin what was our maiden trip across this beautiful country. As we commenced the road trip from Paro to Thimphu, we were met with some picturesque & enchanting views en route in the form of the mighty eastern himalayan ranges as well as a multitude of streams & rivulets flowing through the vast landscape, breathing life into every nook & corner of what was a fascinating start to the ride to Thimphu. Alas, we were welcomed into one of the major settlements in Bhutan & its capital, Thimphu. After navigating our way through the bustling streets of Thimphu, we made our way to the hotel, Le Meridian. Upon arrival, we were immediately taken aback by the hospitality we were treated to at the check in & were certain at that point of the fact that we were in for a great experience, befitting the name & the brand. The sprawling indoors of the hotel, combined with the joyful & the service driven attitude of the people in charge at the hotel immediately transported us into a space of ease & that of utmost comfort. The room was spacious, clean & offered us everything we were looking forward to on our maiden trip to Thimphu. We decided to spend the rest of the day at leisure & had a chance to explore the delightful looking indoor heated pool with a good hour long session enjoying the warmth of the heated pool followed by a relaxing session at the in house spa, availing Ms. Rincho’s services for a 60 minute deep tissue massage. A special mention to the entire team in charge for ensuring provisions in the form of heated sheets & heating units installed in the treatment room. The food was delicious & served in the most incredible ambience imaginable at their in house restaurant. Special mention to the F&B members Deki Yangden, Kelder Yoezer, Sital Soberi, Indra Adhikari, Jigme Lhendup, Kezang Bida, Nguyen Choki & Ms. Tshering among others for their exceptional service day in and day out. Mr. Ganesh, the head chef is very accommodating of all special food requests & even otherwise, doles out the most incredible of dishes in what was a never ending food fiesta. All in all, a very satisfying stay & undoubtedly, a lifelong memory. Also, a short walk down from the hotel towards either ends will lead to a very active & a busy market area in mainland Thimphu & a walk down the same street will guarantee a satisfying shopping experience with decent dining options as well."
Hotel Valley Thimphu
"A good simple hotel in Thimpu , Bhutan . Hotel doesn’t feel or look like any other Ramada hotels that I have stayed before in other places . Looks like a down- graded type of Ramada Hotel . Rooms were spacious , clean and comfortable. Breakfast and buffet dinner didn’t have variety . Quality could had been better . Service and hospitality is top notch . The porch at entrance has over grown lawn with weeds in it. The hotel is still worth staying . I would recommend it ."
Pemako
"Best Neapolitan pizza in town! The hospitality and service were outstanding, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. A special mention to the young lady who served us—I unfortunately forgot her name, but her professionalism and warm hospitality made our experience even more enjoyable. Chef Tshering's pizza and ciabatta served with cheese and olive oil were absolutely delicious. The homemade refreshing sorbets, especially the beetroot and mango flavors, prepared by Pastry Chef Ramakant, were exceptional. Overall, a top-notch dining experience with excellent food, service, and hospitality. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
