Club Cala Blanca ★★★

📍 C. Albaicín, 12, Taurito

"Staff so helpful and friendly, has everything you need. Is on top of quite a steep hill with a free car park at the bottom about a 15 minute walk which was fine for us. Rooms had everything you need and cleaners were super thorough. Had a perfect time!"

"This is a wonderful place with beautiful views. Everything from the staff to the accommodation was just perfect! Feel the staff need an extra mention as all were very kind and helpful, from the reception to the ladies at the pool bar, the chef to the night porter, maintenance and cleaning staff. These people do not stop and it shows in the cleanliness and upkeep of the place. Playa Taurito itself was perhaps not for us but our holiday was wonderful due to the excellent accommodation. We very much enjoyed getting the bus to Amadores in the evenings where there are fantastic eateries."

"Suite Princess This was the second time this year at this hotel. That in itself suggests what we think of it as we are regular winter travellers and have never returned to the same place twice! Booked through TUI a standard Junior Suite. Last trip we had a deluxe room on the second floor with a walk-in shower and it was modern in its decor. This time we had a slightly larger room on the 6th floor (same as reception) which had older furniture with much more storage and a shower over the bath. But in many respects it was better with a superb sea view except for the shower pressure. All rooms have a terrific sea view with balcony, table, chairs and 2 loungers. Drinking Water dispenser in reception which is great if you are on the same floor or near as it saves going down to the bars. Not sure if they are on other floors near the lift?? Overall we knew what we were getting and it didn’t disappoint. We took the hotel free bus to Puerto Mogan which now has a lengthy detour due to the local mountain road being blocked off temporarily. Be aware if this detour if you are taking a Taxi as the cost will no doubt be far more expensive!? Walked around Mogan, which we’ve done years ago and then took the water taxi (7.50€ each single) to Puerto Rico - great to see the coast and hotels viewed from the sea. Walked around and had lunch there before returning to the hotel on the local bus (2.90€ for two) - entertaining white knuckle ride it must be said 😱😂 through Amadores and Cura. Great way to see the nearby resorts and coastline. Bus stop about 10 minutes easy walk to the hotel. TUI Blue app is a must to download on your phone as not to miss anything or to use the hotel facilities from extra pillows to booking the Culinarium speciality restaurant, which was a nice change, also they do a veggie option. Good entertainment and the silent disco is a laugh. Love the sunbed policy here as it makes for a relaxing holiday 👏👏👏 lower level we preferred. Also like the low key lunch at the Taste restaurant which has show cooking outside @1pm Plenty of lunch choice it must be said. It’s good not to go into the same restaurant for all 3 meals. Drinks were great and branded so no need in my view to upgrade. Evening table service for drinks around the bars was efficient and speedy and well worth tipping! We will come back here when it suits us no doubt as it ticks all the boxes for us, although we’ve never understood that statement by others before! We might get a private taxi to and from the airport next time as the TUI bus this time detoured around Maspalomas on the way to the hotel and coastal road picking up on the way back between the hotel and Puerto Rico - a bit of theme park ride!! Great staff which people should not name and single out, they are ALL great!! 👌"

"The hotel is located in nice quiet alcove outside the busy areas of the other towns in Gran Canaria. It faces a public beach, which is easily accessible, but does not have a beach of its own. The facilities are wonderful, clean and capable of hosting the hundreds of tourists that descend upon the hotel in winter. The pools are large and the gym is well equipped. The kids club and animation are adequate, but I have seen better. The food spread is huge and the quality is good, but it tends to be bland and not sufficiently spiced. Overall I would rate it 8/10 and would consider visiting again."

"WILL NOT RETURN. Extremely disappointed with the hotel and resort. Cockroaches on every floor of the hotel. Food was boring and not much changed throughout the week. WiFi only worked in the lobby. Floor tiles around the pool extremely slippy and dangerous. Pool small for the 900+ rooms. Set your alarm for 7am if you want a sunbed as although ‘reserving is not allowed’ we didn’t manage to get a bed once on our holiday due to bed hoggers. Waterpark very run down & dirty. Water is excessively salty!!! Entertainment is shocking. No entertainment in actual hotel, just a 30-45min kids disco followed by 45min ‘adult’ entertainment in the shared fun plaza. Limited seating there also so good luck. Restaurant staff friendly but all other staff rude and not helpful. Do not get a taxi - bus stop up the road far cheaper! Rachel and Elaine the excursion reps on the corner outside are your go to people for any help / info you need! They have all the answers. Within 2 days at the hotel all 4 of us were bored and needed more to do, as we couldn’t use the pool as no spare beds, lack of entertainment despite advertised, salt from the waterpark had stung our eyes so bad we didn’t want to go back (plus the toddler selection was extremely poor, 2 small slides that might as well have no water they were that slow). Very poor experience, disappointed to say the least. Was rather noisy from the beach bar until 1am, we didn’t mind the noise but we were quite far back from it so could imagine it being a lot louder being closer to the beach."

Apartamentos Cordial Magec Taurito ★★★
"This is the second time we've visited this hotel and it was as good as the first time. The apartments are large, bright, airy and clean. We had one with a small garden which would be ideal if you had a young child with you. The breakfast is now even better than last time with a good choice of hot and cold foods. All the staff were friendly and helpful including reception. The chef, Analissa, went out of her way to help if you wanted something different. Lina and Driss, in the restaurant and bar, were always cheerful and welcoming. We would go back there again. It is a steep walk up the hill if you are not very mobile but it is manageable. There is not a lot of choice of restaurants and bars in the resort but a short bus ride away takes you to Amadores beach where there are plenty of lovely restaurants."

"Stayed at this hotel with a friend for ten days. From the first moment we entered the reception until the minute we left we felt welcome. The staff were lovely, helpful, friendly and professional. We had a junior suite which was clean, roomy and comfortable. The food was amazing with something for everyone. The deserts were very tempting and delicious. There was entertainment around the pool area if you wanted to join in and the evening shows were good. There was also a separate piano bar if you wanted something a little more sedate. A free shuttle to nearby Morgan was a nice touch and the service buses were a short walk away and easy to use if you wanted to go further. Puerto rico only took 15 or 20 minutes and cost one euro forty each way. All in all it was a fabulous holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel."

"We have stayed here on numerous occasions now and the staff and hotel never disappoint. We arrived late evening but check-in was easy and friendly (think the lady on reception was either Rebecca/Rachel sorry didn’t make a note of her name) the lady was really helpful and welcoming - restaurant was reopened even though it was 11pm for anyone arriving late to get a meal and drinks. Hotel and rooms are fabulous after the refurbishment in late 2023 - there’s loads of places to sit and relax- you’re able to help yourself to soft drinks/beer/wine/and selection of not drinks. Restaurant is well set out and there’s always a good selection of food on offer to satisfy the most picky of eaters. Hotel pools are great and well maintained (with life guards present) hotel rule of not reserving sun loungers until after 10am is strictly stuck to (towels and belongings removed if left unattended before 10 am) but there are plenty of sun loungers available so never normally a problem. We have always found all the staff to be friendly helpful and polite. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel with it’s lovely staff, facilities and views. We would like to thank the reception team for arranging a lovely bottle of wine and chocolates in the room it was greatly enjoyed and appreciated."

"I would never come back to this hotel again. All the hotels in the same result are very simular too. No day entertainment, unless you go to another hotel , if you all inclusive you still have to pay for the food and drink. Night time entertainment is non existent. Arcades goods, shops, but if your on a low budget, and paid all inclusive, to gey any joy ment in the evening expect to pay money. Small pool, kids are not allowed floats, balls , basically can not do what kids love to do while in a swimming pool. The pool police are constantly out. No slashing , no jumping, no rings, no balls. Water park close by, looks great, but, again if your all inclusive you have may have free entry but food and drink are not included. Salt water , kids hated it!!. Food is repetitive, flies , cockroaches in bedrooms."

"Arrived at the hotel and just got given are room key and to be told that the lift was around the corner not taken to are room which I found that really rude, the hotel staff on the front desk was very rude at times apart from the gentleman was very polite, it took five days to get someone to tune the TV in ,the restaurant staff I found them very rude just took are plates away and not asked if we had finished are food , on day I put my and my grandchildren food on the table I went to go and get drinks came back to my table to find they had taken are food away , I found that if you complained you get told go away, the entertainment team should really improve as they do anything around the pool area no music, the kids had been told not to have they floates in the pool as for six days the kids had there floats in the pool which we were told that didn't have a really life guard but on the seven day we had a real life guard so what were other life guard doing there then just don't understand , the only thing at this hotel was the food , no kettle in the rooms , no water in the fridge, also people smashing up there rooms after arguing with there partners which kept a lot of people awake , also around the pool in front of children, the pool with slides in they put much salt in it my grandchildren were ill for two days ,rooms needed up dateing , I would not recommend this hotel, the doors are pad looked from the in side at the entrance so you can't get out never got shown where fire existed were so if anything happened didn't told where to go , also they should listen to individual people reviews and think and do something about it otherwise this hotel will close or have anyone staying there , o I forgot to say the lifts break down very often so please look at the reviews to improve it"
