"La Villa is a beautiful 1930’s French Villa set in a quiet part of Mazamet within a 5 minute walk of the station. The whole atmosphere is one of calm serenity! A huge iron front door leads into a marble hallway with salons on each side. The runner clad wooden staircase leads up to the bedrooms with wood panels for walls. Bedrooms are simply decorated with wooden furniture, sumptuous bed linen and dreamily comfortable beds. There is even a little reading room on the first floor that overlooks the huge townhouses nearby and the mountain beyond. Janice and Geoffrey are wonderful hosts, unobtrusive and yet always available if needed. Janice cooks a delicious 4-course dinner on Friday and Saturday nights which is not to be missed! The wines are reasonable and of the region and Geoffrey does a mean G&T or cocktail before dinner which can be taken in the garden from 7pm. The pool is small but refreshing and the loungers comfortable. The poolside honesty bar is a wonderful touch too. I would return in a heartbeat!"

"We booked 6 months in advance for a 2 night stay with our 2 young children. Only a few weeks before our stay the hotel cancelled our booking. The reason they gave us was that there had been an issue with the booking system and that they had now taken a private booking for the whole property. A convenient excuse, perhaps... They offered limited to no apology and no useful help to find alternative accommodation (they sent links to a few unsuitable options, including airbnbs). Given the short notice, other suitable accommodation was either booked up or charging high last minute prices. In the end we had to cancel our visit to Gaillac. I am writing this review as a warning to others considering booking here. The most basic thing a hotel should do is to honour bookings it has taken, particularly those made well in advance, and it seems this hotel cannot be relied on to do this."

"We've just come back from beautiful Albi and are very pleased we chose the Hotel Laperouse for our stay. The young family that run the hotel were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and the hotel was delight. The location was very convenient only 10 minutes from the train station and on the edge of the old town. We were in a superior double which was very quiet, comfortable, spacious and clean with a lovely view down to the secluded garden and swimming pool area. There was a fan in the room but no air conditioning and I suspect it is for little details like this that the property is only rated 2 stars."

"Our daughter had a large wedding celebration near Gaillac at the end of August, and we filled Hotel Delga with family and friends. It had been recommended to us, and I cannot recommend it too highly. It is an oasis of calm, with lovely ,light and very comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean, a relaxed feel, and a delicious simple breakfast with homemade jams. Emilie could not be more charming or helpful. I hope we will find a reason to come back !"
