"I had to cancel my stay because I contracted chickenpox, a highly contagious disease. I sent a formal email to the hotel explaining my high fever and physical condition, offering to provide medical certificates. Shockingly, the hotel completely ignored my email and refused my refund request without any consideration. It is incredibly disappointing to see a hotel show such a lack of basic empathy and social responsibility. They would rather risk having a contagious guest than show a bit of flexibility. Avoid this place if you value customer service."

"V nice hotel with staff who work hard to make sure you are relaxed and enjoy your stay I had treatments at the spa, dined at the restaurant and mostly enjoyed my room with balcony view It was peaceful and relaxing The bed was so comfortable it was the first time I just lay on a hotel bed and didn’t have to think about what position to sleep in to avoid pain. So in terms of food the restaurant was fine, the offering could be better, the quality and value are fine but they could raise their game! Individual staff members, v pleasant and genuinely want you to be able to rest and relax It’s why I went to get away and have some quiet and this hotel is the perfect escape The rooms are dated but they are the cleanest and have all that you need"

"Clean, comfortable hotel. Comfortable bed, the shower is working properly. We enjoyed the stay itself. The only thing is that we booked the hotel for the big amount of people and the prices were growing accordingly. So the stay for the first and the last person who booked the hotel was twice smaller / bigger. Consider that and you’ll be fine."

The free standing bath was our favourite, the bed was very comfortable and the settee area was very nice. The staff were very understanding of my sons disability and were very patient and kind. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed and cannot wait to return. Could have easily stayed there for days"

"Wonderful location and friendly staff; however, the way the property is maintained leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, cleanliness is quite poor. In one room we found mold inside the window frames; in another, a broken window pane; and there were numerous cobwebs throughout the house. The bathtubs are potentially dangerous due to the height difference between the floors, and the bathroom fixtures also show clear signs of age. The hairdryer is frankly ridiculous—it looks at least 30 years old. The food is underwhelming and nothing special; I would not recommend dining on site. We had high expectations, but they were all disappointed, and even the breakfast was not enjoyable. Our only thanks go to the staff, who were always attentive and helpful."

"Booked here as a convenient stop over for me and my adult son on our way to a special week end in London, fairly random choice based on location, half way between home and destination. But wow! It was absolutely wonderful, a 100% surprise and delight. Our rooms, supposedly ‘basic’ were fantastic, newly created, clean, comfortable, warm, quiet, spacious and with lots of little extra thoughtful touches to make them homely yet still sophisticated and luxurious. Even a flask of fresh milk for tea and coffee etc… lots of convenient parking; supper in the bar was first rate, ambience delightful, amazing breakfast included in the price, very VERY welcoming staff, the list goes on, and at £66 each per night, all included, well I was amazed and very happy. There seems to be a lot to do and see in the area and I will DEFINITELY go again. What a find! And in the end, the best part of a lovely week end. Faultless. "

"We spent four nights at Overtown Manor in June and could not fault it. The Manor House is beautiful with 6 rooms and a well maintained gardens. Our room was light and airy with dual aspect windows and a really comfy bed. The owner Nancy is what made our stay so memorable. She welcomed us with tea and cake and from that point on we felt that we had known her for years. She was very knowledgable about the area, suggesting places of interest for us to visit or local places to eat. The breakfast that she provided was superb, with everything either locally sourced or homemade, including granola, muffins, preserves and sourdough bread. If you want to be well looked after and have a very relaxing stay, then look no further, I would thoroughly recommend a stay here."
