We had an amazing stay at S Villa Ha Long! The villa is beautifully designed with a modern and cozy vibe, perfectly located just a short walk from the beach. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The area is peaceful and ideal for relaxing, yet still close to cafes and restaurants. The host was incredibly kind and responsive — we truly felt taken care of. Highly recommended and we’d love to come back!

Loved it the moment we stepped in. Chloe Vu from reception had been most helpful. Love the personalised service for cruise booking & transportation arrangement from concierge Ahn-Tran, very clear information and reply almost instantly. Emily from the restaurant has been endearing. Staff have good knowledge about the hotel, and it’s a smart AI infused hotel (sometimes even too smart!). All room faces the ocean and love that the hotel has its private beach. The hotel is very new (opened Aug 2025), so all staff are very willing to listen to feedback, and escalate info very quickly as case learning, which is encouraging to know. The hotel provide half-board and full-board option (we took the half board), so totally stress free where we should go for dinner after a long day at the cruise! I want to go back almost immediately. Next time I will take the full board option so that I can enjoy this hotel much much more.

We stayed at Oakwood Ha Long for two nights as a family of eight and had a very pleasant overall experience. The villa felt luxurious and spacious, making it ideal for a larger family group. The property itself is well maintained and the facilities were impressive — we especially enjoyed the gym, the breakfast spread, and the efficient luggage handling which made check-in and check-out smooth. One area that fell short was the water provision. Each villa (with four rooms) receives only two bottles of water per room per day, and any additional bottles are chargeable. Given the hotel’s five-star positioning and price range, this felt unnecessarily restrictive and not quite in line with expectations for this level of hospitality. Overall, it’s a comfortable and upscale stay with great facilities, but small touches like more generous complimentary water would significantly improve the guest experience.

A hidden gem accessible by boat! My honest review of Vinpearl Resort Ha Long. This is a review of Vinpearl Resort Ha Long, which boasts a unique landscape situated on an island in the middle of Ha Long Bay. It has very clear pros and cons, so I hope this helps anyone considering a visit. The ordeal of boat schedules (inconvenient transportation): Due to its island location, you have to take a boat to get to the resort. Boats depart for the resort every hour on the hour and at the 30-minute mark, and boats leaving the resort depart at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. Initially, these fixed times might feel a bit inconvenient, but if you plan your movements according to the schedule, it's not as bothersome as you might think. Fantastic views and swimming pool: The incredible views of Ha Long Bay alone are enough to offset all the aforementioned inconveniences. Plus, with a spacious and pleasant swimming pool, there's no better place to just relax and stay at the resort. Breakfast and dining tips: You know the typical Vinpearl Resort breakfast style, right? While tasty, if you're staying for an extended period, the breakfast can get a bit repetitive. A full-board package (all meals included) might be convenient, but personally, I recommend venturing out to local restaurants rather than sticking to the resort's food. Overall: If you're willing to put up with the slight inconvenience of adhering to boat schedules, this is an excellent resort where you can enjoy a wonderful vacation with fantastic views and a spacious swimming pool!

Unfortunately, we couldn't check in earlier; the room wasn't ready until shortly after 2 p.m. A very nice apartment, large and clean, with everything you need. The beach is unfortunately still empty and unserviced, but it's a great location if you want to start a cruise from here. The view of the sea and the city is just as beautiful as the rooftop bar that's part of the building.

The booking does not include transfer which you need to pay separately. The food served on board is delicious and all are served by course except for lunch on day 2. Drinks (exclude water from water cooler) need to be purchased but the price is reasonable. The tour is fun and the guide/manager share a lot. The staff is very friendly too. They also arranged for surprise e.g. upgrade our room to suite and decoration as it is honeymoon trip. Definitely recommended. As for the transfer, the ride is comfortable but, the driver has attitude problem. If you did not give tip on your journey to halong bay, he will switch off free WiFi n charging port on our return trip.

I heard that Halong Bay is very crowded, so I took a cruise ship to Lan Ha Bay, which is far away. We took a speedboat to the ship parked offshore. It was a very good tour that efficiently went around the tourist spots. Since I used a suite room, I didn't participate in all the activities and just relaxed on my private balcony. Suite room passengers were able to have afternoon tea in their rooms. In the restaurant, they prepared a quiet table for us, separate from the regular room passengers, so we were able to relax. The food was also delicious. Above all, the staff were all very kind, and they gave thorough explanations about safety, so they are a reliable team. It was a very good trip, thank you very much. I would definitely recommend it.

January 2025, there were very few people in the hotel, it felt like the hotel was just for us. We had neighbors, but we did not hear them at all. The room is clean, cozy, we especially liked the very comfortable chairs with a table, we drank coffee with a view of the sea. Breakfast to order, filled out the form upon check-in, in the morning we received the entire order. There was a lot of food, varied and tasty. The staff is responsive, everyone speaks English, in extreme cases they use a translator. We used the laundry service, clothes were brought in the morning, after breakfast. The hotel is secluded, within a 4-minute walk there are restaurants, massage and the entrance to the Sun World entertainment park, a mini market on the side of the hotel, five steps away. We used the gym and the pool.

We had a wonderful time on the Ambassador Cruise in Ha Long Bay. The limestone cliffs were spectacular, especially the views from the deck at sunrise and sunset, which were unforgettable. The entire itinerary was well-organized, from check-in to all activities went smoothly. The rooms were clean and comfortable with great views. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything went very well, making the experience even more perfect.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The staff were amazing—so welcoming and helpful. We came as two families with five children and got four rooms. All the rooms were very clean and well equipped. The location is also excellent—very close to the center and to the boats, which made getting around super easy. One thing that really stood out was how accommodating the hotel was with our dietary needs. Since we keep kosher, they kindly let us use their restaurant kitchen to cook our own food. That kind of flexibility and kindness made a huge difference for us.
