"It’s a hotel straight out of a Wes Anderson film. As a family, we had the pleasure of spending a few days at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised for the second time, which we were absolutely delighted about. The hotel is styled like a Fin de Siècle grand hotel, yet modern. The vistas looking out over the bay are wonderful. The à la carte breakfast in a quiet atmosphere was highly enjoyable. The two pools were also lovely, offering plenty of space for the children to play. Everything was taken care of for us. The hotel has plenty of staff who look after the guests wonderfully and with touching care. Thank you, dear Esplendito team. We will be back."

"The advantages are that, being a new hotel, the bedding and towels are clean and hygienic, the bed cushions are comfortable, and it is located on a quiet beach with no noise. The furniture and all facilities were clean, making it perfect in terms of hygiene, and the floors were clean as they were not carpeted. The rooms with balconies are nice because they are spacious. The best part, in particular, was the breakfast! Although the variety wasn't extensive, the ingredients were all fresh and the quality was excellent, so I was satisfied. The omelets were made fresh to order and were warm and very delicious. The fruit was fresh and varied, and the nuts were fresh and tasty as they were replenished immediately. All the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. I was able to enjoy a welcome drink at the hotel café, and the fresh and high-quality breakfast was what I liked most. If I were to revisit, it would be because of the excellent breakfast. The downside was that finding the room on the 5th floor was inconvenient; it was like navigating a maze, requiring me to transfer elevators three times in a confusing and complicated manner just to reach the room. This was my first time experiencing a hotel where I had to transfer elevators three times in such a complicated way just to get to my room. It was disappointing that there was no bathtub, considering the price was as high as 400,000 won per night. Also, the location is the biggest problem. It is not in the center of the harbor but at the westernmost end, so it is far away and inconvenient. For travelers on foot, it is very inconvenient as they have to walk for over 30 minutes from the bus stop. It is far from restaurants and all the central areas. It is good for a quiet rest, but because the location is far and inconvenient, I do not recommend it to travelers on foot."

"Casa Bougainvillea is a lovely old hotel that has all of the modern amenities that one might want. It is a restored in-town villa right near the downtown square, but on a quiet street. The patio in the back is secluded -- on warm days, breakfast is served out there. But best of all is the manager Angel, who made our day when my husband forgot our passport in the safe and we were already in the next town -- without a car, as we had hiked there. He drove the passports to us! We remain immensely grateful. That kind of personal touch does not happen every day."

"Was keen to stay at a finca (traditional country house) while in Mallorca, and Ca’s Curial surpassed all my expectations! Beautiful estate perfect for an idyllic, relaxing holiday, and such a refreshing contrast to the crowded resort hotels in other parts of the island. Lovely large pool area with views of the mountains around Soller, honesty bar with easy access to drinks/snacks, and an expansive lemon/orange grove providing plenty of greenery. Breakfast each morning was superb, with a nicely varied buffet spread, delicious egg/crepe entrees on request, and some unique treats generally not found in other lodgings – including an industrial-strength orange juicer! We were in room 9, a stand-alone suite separate from the other buildings on the property. With its private garden/terrace and huge living room, it felt more like a holiday villa than a hotel room. Though situated towards one corner of the estate, we did not at all mind the 2-minute walk from the suite to breakfast each morning (remember: lemon/orange grove). Traditional but tasteful room furnishings, comfortable bed, two air conditioners, and a modern walk-in shower made for a very enjoyable stay. Also, special shout-out to Victoria who was so warm and informative, and completely on point with all of her restaurant recommendations. I do think it is best to arrive here with a car. Although the walk to central Soller is only 10-15 minutes, it can feel a bit much in the midsummer heat – especially if going to town twice in one day. Plus a car makes it easier to explore the other cute towns (Deia, Valldemossa, etc.) and fantastic mountain views in the area. But no one would blame you for spending most of your time just relaxing at the finca!"

"While the location is nice and rooms are spacious, the hotel lacked on customer service. Directions were NOT on point, and trust me, it is not an easy place to find. Though they picked up the first call, they didn’t pick up several other calls, thank goodness for the kindness of locals. There was never anyone working at the hotel, other than breakfast. Breakfast is sparse, especially by European standards, and served in a garden. The onsite garden has rusty furniture and all the plants looked they needed watered & maintained. For the money spent, this was not worth the stay."

However, the parking lot is huge and difficult to find. We went around and around to find it for a long time. It is very difficult to drive in this small town. It is recommended that you come here to drive yourself in this small town. There is nothing special about it."

"We had a great time at the hotel. It is conveniently located in the corner of the square making it easy to access everything you need. We were located on the first floor overlooking the square, but the noise of all the restaurants and bars was blocked out when the windows were closed. The staff were all very friendly, chatty and very helpful. Though the square is quite busy we found a number of good restaurants in the side streets."

"We have returned to Esplendido every year since 2010, with a few exceptions during Covid etc. It remains our holiday destination of choice, and we want to explain why.. There are three distinctive characteristics about the Esplendido hotel. The first is its location, perfectly positioned to capture the commanding view of the entrance to Puerto Sóller’s horseshoe bay, framing of each sunset between the two headlands, it is the perfect ‘instagram’ view for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The tram from Soller trundles by the front door every half hour, and just across the road you find the beach and the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea. The second reason is the hotel and facilities. Sea view rooms literally are a stones throw from the sea. Garden rooms open onto immaculate manicured terraces and present the perfect vista of the bay. Rooms are spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and quiet. You know each wall has been freshly painted, each carpet meticulously cleaned, this is the cleanest hotel we have ever had the privilege to visit. The third and most important feature is the people. Checking in, going for breakfast, dining in the evening, are invariably met with smiles, ‘welcome back’ , and sometimes hugs….. We have nothing but praise for the reception team who cannot do enough for you, the housekeeping team who never stop cleaning, the food and beverage team who treat you as old friends, and the maintenance team who work in the background to keep everything running smoothly. Our strongest recommendation is that we have managed 13 stays in 16 years. The years we missed we didn't go anywhere. Every time we leave we are planning when we can return, because it really is that good…."

"I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. I had travelled to Port d Sóller to hike for 4 days. My first night's sleep was terrible because the air conditioning in the room was not working. I therefore did not get any sleep because my room was like a sauna. The next day I contacted the reception and asked if they could fix my air conditioning. They could not/would not so I asked if I could get a cooler room, which was not possible. He recommended that I sleep with the terrace door open the next night. I did so with the result that I woke up with many mosquito bites. I contacted the reception again, but nothing happened. In total I managed to be in dialogue with the reception 4 times, but I did not get cooling on my air conditioning or another room. It is very frustrating to be on holiday for 4 days and not get any sleep. The worst thing was that the hotel seemed completely indifferent. The last two days I did not get my room cleaned. When I checked out, I explained my stay again and asked for compensation for this stay. They were supposed to take it up with the hotel manager and I would get a response. I have never heard back from the hotel.  With my experience of 4 nights in a “sauna”, lack of cleaning and worst of all, a completely indifferent attitude from the hotel, I really cannot recommend staying there."

"From the moment we arrived the owner David greeted us at the front door with a big smile and was warm and friendly. David then showed us to our room which was light and airy with en-suite shower room, well stocked fridge with wine, beer, soft drinks, sparking wine, fruit juice. There was a coffee machine and flat screen TV too. We were shown how to operate the air con and then David highlighted places of interest, bus stops and restaurant recommendations on the town map. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the whole B&B was spotlessly clean. The location was down a quiet residential street only about a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Soller. The bus station was about a 7 minute walk away. The breakfast was AMAZING and was brought out on individual wooden boards with home made traditional Spanish treats, homemade bread, organic home grown fruits and vegetables and freshly squeezed orange juice. Breakfast was held in a pretty courtyard. We will most definitely be back!!"

"We stayed for 7 nights in September 2024. Having read recent reviews I thought I’d set out my recollection of our stay which was really unimpressive. On arrival we we greeted respectfully but with no real warmth or welcome. We were surprised that we were asked to provide our breakfast choices for the 7 days stay in advance. The selection was limited and supposedly local Mallorcan. We found the food was very limited and in very small proportions- they made a great fuss about not wasting food and being environmentally friendly but the proportions were mean. For example the breakfast serial was served in very small jars. If you are on a diet this is ok but not if you are a normal eater. All very pretentious. Certainly no Michelin star here! We stayed in a very expensive bungalow which was completely in the shade and the bathroom on occasions smelled very much of drains. We were told that this was the result of recent rain affecting the local drainage. The room was clean but veryold fashioned bordering on tatty, and we were both severely bitten by mosquitoes whilst in the grounds and bed! The grounds were pleasant but the pool was freezing cold. The honesty bar worked well. When we arrived on a Sunday the restaurant was closed - it only opened on one or two evenings during our stay - so we walked into Soller every night which was a good half hour walk. A part of the walk back in the dark is down a dark lane to the Finca passing a number of properties with guard dogs which was disconcerting. Overall extremely expensive, very pretentious, with the staff whilst pleasant appeared to be somewhat superior - and poor value for money. Would never return or recommend."
