"Excellent apartment well equipped and in a beautiful location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Really great value for money and have already booked to come back next year. There is only a small food store i the area so recommend going further afield to a larger supermarket if you want to cook in the apartment."

"What an amazing hotel it is in beautiful Slano it’s in a bay just yards from the sea. It has a pebble beach with lots of sun beds , a large outdoor swimming pool and a large indoor pool . The rooms are spacious and well equipped and have lovely balconies either looking over the mountains or the sea . Either view is beautiful. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious with a wide variety of dishes cooked to perfection. Slano is a small village with a few shops and a few bars and restaurants. There is a marina where the tour boats come into. It’s a quiet relaxing place ideal for couples or groups but there’s nothing for children to do except swim. I would highly recommend this gem of a hotel and will definitely be back."

"I spent 11 nights at this hotel having travelled with Jet2 Holiday. I have travelled extensively from Costa Rica and St Lucia in the west to India in the east and many of the hotels I have stayed in were all inclusive. When I first arrived at this hotel the first thing I did when I arrived in my room was open the door to the balcony. I couldn't believe the view. It was unbelievable and I thought at first it was a picture. One of the best views from a hotel I have ever had. Unfortunately it didn't stay like that as the second thing I noticed was a quite big yellow stain on the carpet. I am not sure if this was an iron burn or something more sinister but I chose not to stand on it. Other than that the room was fairly ordinary and kind if lacked any features. It was however kept very clean by the daily cleaners. The hotel in general lacked a bit of personality with most ot being paited white. Another thing that I found bizarre was what was classed as that lounge bar which was basically a large wide corridor which lead to the dining room. As a result it lacked atmosphere. The pool bar was small with white plastic tables and chairs most of which were damaged and in fairly poor condition. The area roundabout the pool also had a large selection of white plastic loungers so there was never a problem getting one although after lying on them for a short period they became uncomfortable. To be fair the hotel shop sold covers for them at €26 a pop. Next the food. I thought it was fair good and well cooked even if it nit the best I have ever had. Next the drinks and this was one of my biggest bug bears. I drink Bacardi/ white rum and nowadays virtually nothing else. My problem was that this place did not have any. Neither bacardi or cheaper white rum. I did try their dark rum but it tasted like someone had brewed it in a shed so I gave that a miss. As a result I was in bed most nights by 9.30. At the start of this I said that I have travelled extensively and never before have I come across a hotel that didn't stock white rum even the cheap stuff. Surely, on holiday, I should get to drink what I want to drink and not what a hotel dictates. Overall I think hotel is just a little bit scruffy but with a bit of investment could be upgraded instead of being down graded by Jet2. I would also suggest a mini bus or similar to get people into Slano as I was told it was a 20 minute walk but in the heat it took me more like 40 or 45 minutes Even if the hotel made a small charge for it it it cost me €10 for a taxi the first time then €15 the second time. Someone got their sums wrong !"

Apartments Villa Riva ★★★★
"Spotlessly clean apartments with everything you need for your stay. The surroundings are gorgeous and so well maintained. Couldn't fault our stay. Thankyou. Apartments are located 2 doors from a a small shop selling fresh bread and essentials. There are 2 local restaurants and a mini supermarket. Slano it's self is gorgeous, so peaceful and relaxing. Good public transport with buses and we used Ubers which took about 35 minutes to get to Old Town Dubrovnik which was fabulous. Will be back :)"

"Enjoyed two weeks in this excellent hotel located right on a pebble beach and with a forested hillside as a backdrop - great location in the small town of Slano which is just 35 km or so from the stunning walled city of Dubrovnik. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel from which you can fetch a bus into Dubrovnik but be aware that Dubrovnik is extraordinarily popular and is a stopping port for many cruise liners and so it can tend to be very crowded in the high season. Slano, however, is a quieter area and this hotel is something of an oasis of calm. The hotel is kept in excellent order by wonderful staff - every department is manned by staff who know and seem to enjoy what they are doing. The hotel is ideal if you wish to have a relaxing holiday and in fact you could spend your entire holiday without ever leaving the hotel given its location on the beach which is safe and an extremely pleasant place to swim. The hotel has two very large swimming pools if one finds the sea daunting. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and most if not all have a balcony either facing the sea or the surrounding tree-covered hills. The hotel provides live entertainment on certain nights which provides a very nice atmosphere suitable to adults and children alike. The hotel is exceptionally good value given the great standard of food at breakfast and in the evenings. All in all I had a wonderful stay and would have no hesitation in returning and I commend it to anyone who liked to have a relaxing seaside break in nice surroundings in a very safe and pleasant environment. The staff in particular were without exception a highlight of the stay."

"This review could be so different with just a few tweaks. The hotel is in a stunning location in Slano Bay. The views from the hotel are gorgeous. You are looking out onto the most tranquil of spots. The hotel is spotless and there are staff working constantly to keep it immaculate. We had a superior room with a sea view. The room was of a resonable size and again spotless. The air conditioning didnt seem to make any difference to our room temperature so having a portable fan helped us sleep as it was really warm through the night. The shower was good and always had hot water no matter what time you used it. There was shower available, but no shampoo or hair conditioner. Sadly there was no tea making facilities in the room so if you needed a cuppa you had to go elsewhere in the hotel. The two things that let the hotel down for me were the quality of the drinks available and also the food. With a bit more imagination the hotel could become four or five star. You could see local fisherman going out but sadly their catch didnt seem to make it to the chef in the Osmine. There was a lot of meat available(especially pork) but the menu became a bit repitive especially for us as we were there for ten days. In the restraunt we noticed a couple of quirks, one been that when you finished a course you never got your cuttlery replaced. I asked one of the waiters for more cuttlery and he pointed to a set table and told me to take it from there. The other thing that puzzled me was why they only put out cold milk at breakfast time. At lunch/dinner time if you wanted a cup of tea with milk there was none available. I asked one of the staff if we could get some and we were told no.So if you are from the UK get used to having your tea black. Some of the staff looked a bit tired and I think they were just waiting for the end of the season to arrive. The entertainment team worked hard and offered various sports to try like yoga, table tennis and volley ball. You could also use bikes for an hour free of charge , this was useful especially if you wanted to go into Slano to the nearest shop.If you had the bikes longer you were charges 6 euros an hour per bike. The hotel also lets you use paddle boards, kayaks and pedalos free of charge. These are on a first come first serve basis and most people take them out for less that an hour so you will never be waiting long to have a go. Would I go back to the Hotel Osmine...probably not but I will certainly go back to Croatia as its absolutely stunning."
