Montigo Resorts Somerset at Charlton House ★★★★

"I love Charlton house, it was really quirky. The way it has been styled is really unusual. It makes you feel like you're in a bit of a fantasy world with the little corridors and quirky little nooks and crannies. For me it fit the bill, it did the job that I needed but I understand for those people that do not get it on an offer and pay a lot of money to stay there I understand how they might say that it's a bit dirty a bit tired a bit grubby and needs a bit of TLC. There seemed to be one very sweet man that was running around doing pretty much everything and the rest of the staff were hidden behind doors or just not there. I'm not sure. There were staff present in the spa and they were lovely and helpful and kind. My little room was gorgeous and cute and cozy, and clean enough although tatty in places. For me I really had a nice day and I would definitely come back. The breakfast was extremely basic but I didn't have extremely high expectations, and I'm not really a breakfast person, so again it may not make the tick box for others but it did the job for me. Thank you Charlton house."

Crossways ★★★★★

"Good location and view. The cleanliness is average as found stain on one of the towels. Quite warm and humid for summer as no air conditioning and quite a lot of mosquitoes whilst windows opened. Seems short of staff as service runs slow especially when ordering foods for dinner."

Primrose ★★★

The Shrubbery Hotel ★★★

"We went to visit Shepton Mallet Prison on a Ghost Hunt & stayed here as it was very close to it (5 minute walk) The owner & staff went above & beyond to make our stay a comfortable one. The Hotel although dated was very clean with character & the Breakfast was egg-cellent,it was extreamly good value for money."
