Ocean View Hotel ★★★
"Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff."
Luccombe Manor Country House Hotel ★★★
"Unbeatable sea view room"
Medehamstede Hotel ★★
"I came here with a coach trip, so many of us had to be accommodated at the same time but the small team at the hotel were prepared apart from at breakfast which was very slow. The hotel is dated and could do with a freshen up, it brought me back to the 80s. The staff work tirelessly between reception and the bar and will go out of their way for you. The entertainment was fun Fri-Sunday and got us up dancing especially Jules, who I loved. The hotel is located very close to all the amenities, which was fantastic. The thatched tea rooms highly recommend about 10 mins walk out to the left of the hotel. No lift if you have mobility problems so let the hotel know. Only thing I would suggest if keeping hairdryers in the rooms and toiletries such as shampoo and shower gel. Would I go back……. Absolutely yes, I had a great time"
The Q Hotel ★★★
"The hotel is lovely, staff are friendly and helpful. The room we had needed to be updated really. It was very dark and the decor was dated. Bed was comfy."
Luccombe Hall Hotel ★★★
"Good location, some staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely will come back."
The Fig Tree Shanklin ★★★★
"It is an amazing hotel with great location and view. I wish it was a bit cleaner; we found a big hair ball in bathroom and a tea stain in bedsheets. Other than that it was great and will come back"
Channel View Hotel ★★★
"A last minute holiday took us to the Isle of Wight. We stayed here at the Channel View Hotel boasting gorgeous gorgeous views of Shanklin beach. Clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast with the most wonderful staff waiting on you at breakfast time. There is a swimming pool on site which is nice to have available and a sauna room. A stones throw from the Old Shanklin town which is a must to visit"
The Queens Road Hotel
The Clifton ★★★★
"We were so delighted that we found this hotel, we'd almost booked at one of the large hotels in Shanklin, but read poor reviews so looked elsewhere... thank goodness we did. The Clifton was perfect for us in every way. There were three of us, so we had booked the balcony bay twin room and the cosy double with sea facing view for my brother. The view from both rooms was amazing, particularly the sunrises! The binoculars provided are a really nice touch. Breakfast is an amazing start to the day and the chef is to be congratulated that the food was always piping hot when it arrived at our table. The staff cannot do enough for you and it was very pleasant sitting in the gardens with coffee and cake from their cafe during the day. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit. Thank you!"

The Cliff Hall
"I would highly recommend the Cliff Hall for anyone wanting to stay in Shanklin. It has a lovely atmosphere with large airy rooms some of which have sea views. The breakfast is really good with plenty of choice of hot food and/or cereals, pastries etc. The location is perfect for walking to either the sea front or either Shanklin old town or Shanklin new town. For the sea front, there is a lift a very short walk from the hotel that takes you down to the front which is a very reasonable £1 per person each way or if if you are feeling energetic you could walk down the cliff promenade. We were really glad we found this place. We were already on the island but had an issue with the hotel we booked so were looking to find somewhere for the remainder of our stay rather quickly and at short notice. Thankfully a quick “Google” and we found the Cliff Hall which very luckily for us were able to accommodate us at short notice and went that extra mile to make sure we were able to continue with our short break. Brendan and Deborah made us feel really welcome and are excellent hosts. We will certainly book the Cliff Hall again when we revisit the Isle of Wight and will be booking one of their sea view rooms."
The Havelock
"This is the 6th visit to the havelock and it just keeps getting better. The rooms are well kept always clean and very smart. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Location is in the heart of shanklin. The breakfast is 10 out of 10 plenty to choice from and excellent quality. All I can add to this is well done Paul & Vicky keep up the excellent work and are definitely coming back next year. 👍"
The Chestnuts
"We only stayed 1 night (wish it could have been more!) but we were looked after from the moment we arrived. The chestnuts is in a great location, just a few minutes to the beach and to the shops in Shanklin. Our rooms were really nice and very clean, breakfast was excellent with a wide choice-what more could you ask for?!! Thank you Hayley & Nick for a lovely stay-hope to see you both again."
The Snowdon House
"Had a lovely stay with friends at the Snowdon for a short break. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious with a comfy bed. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order each morning with lots of choice on the menu. Excellent Eggs perfectly done with the full English. The hotel is very near to the cliff top path with great view of beach below and easy access to the lift if you don’t want to walk. Sally & Mike are full of information about the island and places to visit if you ask and there are lots of information leaflets if you need inspiration. We went to Osborne house which was a great day and interesting then relaxed with a meal overlooking Shanklin beach . Thank you for a smashing stay."
Claremont
Birkdale Guest House
"Fantastic adults-only Guest house situated centrally in Shanklin and not too far from the promenade and shoreline. Superbly run by Leslie and Colin who have carefully considered all elements from tasteful, appropriate coastal decoration to quality furnishings, exceptional bedrooms and ensuites. Each guest room has more than adequate facilities for hot and cold beverages in the room, plenty of hanging and cupboard space, quality furnishings again and all very clean. Breakfasts are just fabulous - pre-booked the day before but a very wide choice and something for everyone. Freshly cooked with quality ingredients well presented, you’ll never leave hungry. It really is impossible to fault this wonderful guest house and we will be back. Praise to Colin and Leslie for providing such high standards and 5 star accommodation and friendly, approachable service."
The Royson Guest House
"What a lovely cosy place! Cooked and continental breakfast were delicious. Nigel and Sharon were very welcoming and making sure that everything was fine. The beds were comfy, hot beverages were provided in the room like hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Little things that we appreciated a lot, was the details of the decor, the room service, the continental breakfast like the overnight oats, the games in the room, tourist information flyers and many more things."
Braemar
"We stayed five nights at this B&B. A great location in Shanklin Old Town close to the "Chine", walk down to the Sea and several local eateries. A good base to explore the Isle of Wight by car, and also there there is a half hourly bus service to Newport and Ryde on the doorstep. The owner Clare and Boz made us feel very welcome and his Poached eggs for breakfast were superb."
