The location is fantastic, right next to the subway and train stations. The facilities look good at first glance, but after experiencing them, I realized they definitely need improvement.
The gym has a wide range of equipment, but it's not well-maintained and unhygienic with a lot of sweat stains. There isn't enough space to use dumbbells, and it's impossible to maintain a proper distance from others. No towels were provided; after asking staff, I was given an oversized bath towel, which suggests insufficient training and amenities.
The breakfast offers a wide variety of food, but during peak hours, there aren't enough seats. The staff seemed unsure how to handle the situation, very unfamiliar, and there was a lack of communication and training among them. I'd suggest placing the salad and drinks lower for children to access easily.
The room is spacious, but the lighting is quite dim despite having many lamps. Unfortunately, the bathroom occasionally has a sewer smell, which absolutely needs to be addressed.
Overall, this Pullman doesn't compare favorably to other Pullmans I've stayed at. The main issues that truly need improvement are staff management and facility maintenance.
I chose Pullman Shanghai South for my business trip to Shanghai, but the hotel facilities are a bit old. I reported this to the front desk, and the duty manager helped me upgrade my room type. All the hotel staff have excellent service attitudes; it's just that the room facilities are outdated, a hardware issue. Luckily, the location is superb, and the front desk service is also commendable!

From check-in to check-out, the service was consistently attentive and caring. Serena and Sia at the front desk handled procedures efficiently and with a warm, friendly smile. The concierge team, David, Jackie, and Louis, were proactively enthusiastic, helping with luggage and arranging transport very promptly. Housekeeping was incredibly responsive, addressing all requests quickly and appropriately. The staff's professionalism and dedication truly brought the meaning of 'service' to life, making me feel right at home.
The hotel rooms are spacious and bright, with a modern and elegant design. The bedding is comfortable, and the facilities are well-maintained, clean, and tidy. The views are expansive, offering a panoramic city landscape. The soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet and relaxing environment.
The dining experience was also great. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, both Chinese and Western, and everything tasted delicious. The hotel's location is superb, making travel very convenient.
I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Shanghai.
Nancy was great, and I have to praise the service here! From the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone was incredibly polite. When we needed something delivered to the room, it arrived within minutes – super efficient. The attention to detail was excellent, making for a very comfortable stay.
