"Chilled hostel, great place to relax for a few days. The layout is excellent, with a centre courtyard and plenty of places to sit out and chill. Plus points: Quality/price ratio is excellent Rooms are spacious, with generous balconies Staff are friendly Minus points: Beers are about 2- times the price of anywhere else around Food from the restaurant can be really slow to come out Activites could do with a bit more resource put behind them"

Posada del Angel Hotel

"My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights after reading significant numbers of negative comments about the Plantation House - the only hostel which seems to feature on most of the websites, and does admittedly have its own very good website. We found Hostal Posada del Angel mentioned on one website and phoned to make a reservation, which was completely hassle-free. The hostel is located about 20 steps away from the town's central square, where all the restaurants etc. are located. The owner/manager was helpful and kind, and made us feel at home. There's free coffee and drinking water whenever you want it, and use of the kitchen. There's a small living room area with a fireplace and sofas and tables to sit at, and maybe half a dozen bedrooms scattered around the building - ours had a fantastic view out across the mountains (see the pics I'm about to upload) and was spacious, airy, clean, and had a good en-suite bathroom. There was no one else staying in the hostel while we were there; we met quite a few people who'd been staying at Plantation House (and had complaints about it, broken beds, etc.), but Hostal Posada del Angel seems pretty much unknown and I'd recommend it 100%"

El Rancho de Salento

"Beautiful location just 7 mins outside Salento. We were a family of four and shared one 5 bed too. Accommodation is simple but lovely and clean. Breakfast was good. Staff were really helpful booking trips. We did horse riding on site along the river. Simply stunning scenery."

"The view from the hotel is great and the staff are very helpful. But it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the central square of Salento, including a steep climb. If you like scenery, you can choose here. If you want more convenience, choose one in the center of the town, although the town is not big."

"It was a decent place for the location. Breakfast could improve. Massage is expensive for the market and not good although they make it look good from the outside."

Casa Serafin Hotel

"The room and the location of the hotel were clean and in order. Unfortunately, the service left to wish. At arrival we received no explanation or instructions about the facilities or breakfast, which caused confusion during our stay. After departure we also received a consumed drink account, while there was no communication in advance, which was unexpected and not transparency. Unfortunately, because with a little better communication, experience could have been much more pleasant."
