Rain Forest Inn

Ringlet
Definitely enjoyed it immensely during the day but let's just say I came to greatly appreciate the comforts of modernity came nightfall haha.  It's fantastic to have all meals next to the waterfall and pretty amazing to slowly drift down the small river pool on a bamboo raft without it being a tourist 'activity'. Climb over rocks upstream to see small fish in a rock pool and incredible lush rainforest. Perfect to spend 2-3 nights here to have 1 full day for sights in Cameron Highlands and another just to relax. The 6㎡ 'double room' is a shared hut. The 10㎡ 'family room' is its own hut but also with a detached shared bathroom. The other 3 room types (15/18/25㎡) are all standalone huts with their own ensuite bathroom. We opted for the biggest ''superior chalet'' with its own hammock & detached covered private dining area right out just for the 2 of us even though there are 3 queen sized mattresses - pricey for a hut but it's meant for 6 people and each bed is encased in its own separate mosquito net so it's easier for midnight toilet trips. The whole hut vibrates if someone moves so get your own hut if you're a light sleeper - the 18㎡ one-bedroom chalet next to it is a few meters away. There are more huts higher up & on the other side of the bamboo bridge/river, pretty spread out on slopes. The area itself is much more attractive than Ringlet (and other towns) which is a 15-minute drive away... not exactly in the jungle but surrounded by nature - more like a campground with huts built in the traditional Orang Asli style, near a shallow river/waterfall with bamboo rafts you're free to use. Also volleyball net & basketball hoop on the grounds.   Paths to the huts are paved in concrete so no problem to have a suitcase - better to have something you can zip up because there are small creatures out and about here and there. Electricity & warm shower plus cell reception in some areas, weak/slow but works sometimes. This whole place accommodates 40 but only 6 guests here then just us since January is apparently their low season, busier in July/August. Being immersed in nature means mozzies/ants and more flying bugs especially after dusk past 7 at night - hut's off the ground but not sealed.  Okay in the rain, just a little loud/humid - rain dries up fast though. Not cold at night, 18 C and mid 20s during the day. Bed's really comfy & room can be brightly lit inside at night which attracts insects so best have something you can do on the mattress inside the mosquito net where you're 'safe' from too much nature ;) - would recommend keeping a bottle of water & cell phone flashlight inside the net.   Whole bathroom gets wet after you shower but dries fast & a couple of times there were ants on the toilet seat when there was heavy rain.  Bring your own toiletries/bug spray & an adapter if you don't have Type G plugs. If the sounds of nature might bother you, prepare earplugs.   Basically, don't expect a hotel room - it's more like camping/glamping,

Had a great time at this boutique hotel. It’s relatively new and adopt a very interesting design concept. They only have 10 rooms I think. The landscaping around the hotel was really nice. The location of this place is in Tanah Rata, so it’s not as crowded as Brinchang, also it’s not as congested in terms of traffic. You only get one car park per room. It’s situated right at the end of the street, quite secluded and very private. There’s no one waiting during check in, basically, you text a number and someone comes out to give you keys to your room and ask for breakfast selection for the following morning. All communication was done through the WhatsApp. We also asked for extra towels and shampoo, owners were very courteous and generous. Felt very safe for my family with young children could just roam around freely. In terms of amenities, there’s no swimming pool or gym facilities. But there’s a place to do bbq and gather in the common area. They give you the auto gate lock if you were to drive out and come back late at night, you can allow yourself in and lock the gate yourself. In the morning you can hear very loud bird chirping. The air was very fresh! But we were awoken by the loud noise of grass trimming from next door, some government office. There’s also a dormitory next door and you can hear evening prayers. Nearby, there’s a lot of shops and restaurants whereby you will find no problems settling your meals, about 5 mins walk down to the Main Street. Just a few things to note : - There’s a lot of stairs and if you have elderly in your entourage, it is not very convenient getting to the room. You may ask for ground floor rooms of course. The stairs worked super well for my children though, they just enjoyed going up and down so much! - We booked loft rooms. The toilet and bath tub is located next to the main door. It’s open concept, meaning if you were to take a shower at night or go to toilet, it’s going to be cold. - The beds are on the top floor, so if you need the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to walk down the stairs. - The bathtub and shower design is not so convenient for young children or elderly. - Breakfast comes in very cute tiffin boxes. They place it outside your door around 8 plus. However, I always couldn’t catch their delivery on time, and most times the food is rather cold already. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay very much. I think would very suitable for young couples, and groups of young travelers.

Now where do I start... There were many twists and turns before I finally decided on my stay at Rover's inn. Finally, after booking and cancelling several accommodations , I decided on this one. Upon looking at the pictures and the price, I thought the entire experience of staying here was just going to be so-so. But the entire experience really exceeded my expectations! Upon stepping foot into the hotel, I was greeted by the melody of soft jazz  wafting into the lobby. The owner warmly greeted me with a smile when I arrived at night, and he filled me in on the rules of the place. Maybe it's because I've been staying amongst the hustle and bustle of Singapore for too long - but the quaint, quiet and peaceful surroundings of the hotel felt absolutely refreshing and peaceful. I also really like the fact that the management makes it a point to make sure that noise is reduced to a minimum. The hotel room turned out to be really spacious too, and for the price , it is really quite reasonable. There is a lounge and a cute outdoor dining area for guests to consume their meals. Water, coffee and tea are also provided. In the lounge area, there are also some books that guests can read ☺️ I chose the classic - men are from Mars, women are from Venus. On the last day of my stay, Jessie forgot to return me my deposit and she specially called me up to make arrangements so she could return me the money. Really thankful for her honesty. Facilities wise, the only think I would really have wished could be included was a hair dryer! I couldn't find one and I really needed it to dry my hair. But I guess the hotel management would need more income to upgrade their facilities ? For the price, I really can't complain.☺️ Another thing is the walls are kinda thin? So sometimes I can hear the other guests in other rooms which kinda disrupts my sleep. Other than that, I'm really satisfied with my entire experience here ♥️☺️☺️

The service is good, the antique and heritage building, garden and ambience are the key attractions of this hotel Breakfast is very good and presentation is nice, especially come with the natural honey Queen size bed is slightly small for two persons guess due to the limitations of room size The bed and pillows are good and comfortable The only one defects is the water heater not working well and can’t enjoy the bathtubs as it take too long to fill up with hot water, and got to wait longer to use hot shower Highly recommended to support this small luxury boutique hotel and preserve the heritage and nature of Cameron Highlands
