Perkasa Hotel Mt Kinabalu ★★

📍 Perkasa Hotel Mt. Kinabalu, Kundasang

"The front office staff friendly and helpful during our stay. We got the chalet 13 on our stay, feels like taking stairs to level 4/5 to get to the chalet. The view is more to forest and sky, not a mountain view. Lacking wifi on the chalet side and mobile phone reception coverage also not so good (we are using CelcomDigi blue and yellow edition). Overall, its a very relaxing experience."

Sabah Tea Garden

Sabah Tea Garden ★★★

📍 Tea Resort S/B, Locked Bag 02, Ranau

"Stayed for two nights with my husband, The cottages are quaint and well furnished, only niggle was the water pressure in the shower. We had a tour of the tea plantation and also ate in the restaurant both evenings we were there, food was really good hot and tasty. Views from the restaurant are excellent, beautiful sunsets over mount Kinabalu. Would recommend a stay "

Lodge 37 ★★
"Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Lodge 37. The location was very convenient and the staff provided excellent service throughout my stay. The room was clean and comfortable. However, the amenities were quite limited and could be improved. Still, it’s a good place for a simple and affordable stay."

Perkasa Hotel Mt Kinabalu ★★
"Its quite and the view is spectacular, sadly during check in the lady in the front desk didnt speak frankly regarding the distance. We're evergreen couples, well you know what I mean, I'm fiftees my husband sixtees.. its quite hard for both if us to climb the stairs to our room.. its room no 10. I just hope, in future the front desk will truly advise the guest regarding the distance and how many stairs they have to climb in order to reach their room."

Sabah Tea Garden ★★★
"The tea plantation is beautiful and the restaurant is excellent. It would get the 5th star if it had decaf coffee (Kopi tanpa kafein) and fresh milk. The Garden cottage is excellent. 6 huge en-suite bedrooms and a patio which looks straight at Mt Kinabalu, best seen in the morning and evening The longhouse accommodation looked comfortable too. The tea tour is slightly hampered by the guide being difficult to hear and understand but we got the gist. Good location for Poring hot springs, Ranau and Rafflesia flowers"

Sutera Sanctuary Lodges at Poring Hot Springs ★★★
"This hotel is located inside a national park, so you have to buy a 50 MYR national park ticket just to enter. It has multiple rooms, which are quite small, but the common area is very spacious. It feels more like a hostel than a proper hotel. Because it's in the national park, the outdoor environment is beautiful and the air is fresh. You can enter the park as early as 7:30 AM, and the walking trails are open all the way to the waterfall. Due to time constraints (we wanted to go to the hot spring), we only made it to the Bat Cave before turning back. The walk took us 80 minutes. There's an additional 10 MYR fee for the hot spring. Filling a private bath takes about an hour, whereas the foot baths are already filled and ready to use, which is great. The hot spring water is very pure, around 40 degrees Celsius, and very comfortable."

Fairy Garden Resort Kundasang ★★
"The hotel was decent overall. The room was clean and met basic expectations, but nothing particularly stood out. The staff were polite and helpful, though service was sometimes a bit slow. Amenities were adequate, and the location was fairly convenient. While the stay was comfortable enough, it didn’t feel exceptional. It’s a reasonable choice for a short stay if you’re looking for something simple and affordable."

Kinabalu Poring Vacation Lodge ★★
"The hosts were incredibly kind. They offered to order food for me or drive me to a restaurant. They even drove me to the bus stop in Ranau on my departure day. There's a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals and there's always hot water. However, it was a bit untidy and some of the dishes were dirty – but you can always wash them yourself 😉 The room was clean and equipped with ceiling fans. You can also comfortably sit outside on the large (covered) terrace in the evenings, enjoying the view of the garden. Kinabalu Park entrance is a 20-minute walk away."

Mile 36 Lodge ★★★
"We stayed here before our hike up Mt. Kinibalu. The room was good with coffee and tea included. I had no phone coverage in the area but the reception had wifi so I was able to use that. The lady at reception was super helpful to us, especially when we couldn't get a grab. She rang a local taxi driver to bring us to the mountain. She also helped us to print 2 documents that are required to climb. We really felt welcome and supported here. If you plan on eating lunch/dinner here, I would message them first as we did have to walk about 7 minutes in the rain to the nearest restaurant."
