"The beach of Formentor is not private !! In fact there are no private beaches in Mallorca ( if access , but not the coast ) by law neither can offer , nor pretend it to be a private beach / area . I hope that soon the authorities will take a letter on the matter"

"We loved our 2 night stay in this very special location. The historic building is just outside Pollensa (10 minute drive in for dinner) in the most idyllic of locations. The swimming pool was so wonderful, warm, peaceful - I didn't want to leave! Breakfast on the terrace was excellent and we chose to have the dinner one night which was also very good. Nicolas and his team are very friendly and helpful, the room very comfortable (and quiet) , though no complimentary water/ coffee facilities in the room. Highly recommended."

Puerto Azul Suite Hotel

"This wasn't our first choice due to our dog sitter's diary, so you may understand our comments. First the bad bit. This is a family hotel full of children so all around the pools you can hear the daily sound of children on holiday. Even out of term time i must add. Good bits. There is a small adult section that opens at 9.00am. Great spot but limited parasols for shade, so get there early. Suites are very sparce but once you get used to them they are fantastic. Separate bedroom, living area, kitchen area and balcony. 2TVs and the air con is effective. Pools are kept spotless as does the rest of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner are very good. I would not say excellent but a very good selection for everyone. I would question the need for a traditional Sunday lunch though! Location is excellent for the main promenade and supermarkets. The new Agromart, just down the road, looks fantastic but be aware it is very pricey. In a nutshell " a really good hotel" would we go back, definitely not. Only because of all the lovely kids enjoying themselves on holiday."

Mon Boutique Hotel

"Mon Boutique is a beautiful 'looking' hotel and the rooms are very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The roof terrace is a pleasant place to sit although the jacuzzi is unheated. The hotel has closed it's restaurant which was very disappointing although there are plenty of other restaurants around the hotel. The hotel are using the restaurant space to serve breakfast but it is a very poor standard of breakfast and not in keeping with what you would expect in a hotel of this standard and price. Bearing in mind you are near the citrus groves of the island you would think they could serve fresh orange juice - but no they serve squash, machine made coffee and a very lack lustre breakfast. The only cooked item on the menu is eggs with bacon - no pancakes or sausages or anything else - very disappointing. Further there is a huge building site directly opposite the hotel - literally 5 metres away and they start work on this at 8am on the dot each morning. It is extremely noisy with heavy plant machinery and this is not mentioned anywhere on the hotel's website. Do not plan on sleeping past 8am! Overall the room and roof terrace were nice but the breakfast and building site were very disappointing!"

"This is a charming, easy going, intimate hotel with lovely staff. It's very well located with parking at the door and surrounded by small restaurants . It's about 100 yards from a beautiful beach. A great place for an easy holiday. The coffee is good too."

Hotel Miramar Mallorca

"We were allocated an amazing sea view room with stunning harbour views from the balcony. Staff at check in and cleaning team couldn’t have been kinder (restaurant staff less so but probably totally exhausted and it was crazy hot). Air con was fantastic. Everything wonderfully clean and functional. Odd smell from the fridge but we flagged it and presumed just cleaning fluids. Perfect location. Bar and restaurant downstairs very popular and buzzy and with lovely harbour and people-watching views so you feel like you’re ’out’ just by popping down with minimal effort. Highly recommended. Only caveat is the half board dinner options are crazy limited and a little odd. But the wider menu is good."

Mar Hotels Playa Mar & Spa

"I really enjoyed my time at Playa Mar and Spa - it is a good resort for young children and families. We booked a premium suite and it was very spacious with everything you would need for the break including comfy beds and pillows. Angie and Fredy in particular were super friendly at the restaurant and always took the time to high-five my daughter and welcome us. There is a big range of food on offer and it is replenished frequently which was impressive. Drinks in the all inclusive offer were very good too. The kids clubs staff that ran the entertainment were a good team - particular shout outs to Stefan, Paul and Andrea. Pools were perfect for a four year old and a good temperature. The layout of the hotel means you are close to everything you need although you can hear the entertainment in hotel rooms until 11pm which was not an issue for us and v quiet after that ends. Very close to pine walk which takes about 15 mins to walk down to the harbour. Beaches with clear water on the way to dip in. There was an issue with flying ants in the room for the first two nights but fine for the remainder of the break. Quite a lot of dead ants in the patio doors which need to be hoovered out but other than that I can't think of any improvements to suggest. I would like to return as we had a relaxing break as it is a lovely, small resort with great staff."

Cabot Pollensa Park Spa

"Having stayed a few times, I have to say that unfortunately this was not great this time. First the positives, the food is ok for all inclusive. There are plenty of sunbeds. The restaurant though is like a canteen and the wine glasses are not clean - there are often lipstick marks still on them. The bartender at the bar never serves a dirty glass and the restaurant should do better. Drinks on all inclusive are more limited than they used to be. The hotel is currently taking photos for promotional material, which is ok but not when it is to the detriment of paying guests. Not happy to have been asked to move from our sunbeds - they should have cordoned them off if they needed to use them. Very annoying and left feeling uncomfortable. Not a great experience. A shame as the hotel used to be really good."
